An unfinished VR mode has been spotted in GTA Trilogy.

Ben Turpin of Rockstar Intel tweeted a video showing the mode in action in San Andreas. It appears similar to the first person mode in GTA5, but is accessed using the command GTA.VR.1 in a debug menu, implying it's intended to be VR.

"There is a debug Unreal command for GTA VR but it looks a little bit unfinished," said Walker. "Maybe it would be cool if they implemented this as a first-person option? It plays pretty well. Gunfights and punching will need tweaking, would be super cool for screenshots!"

Rockstar has released the first post-launch update for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition.

Title update 1.02 is available now for the GTA Trilogy on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S and Xbox One.

Rockstar's patch notes page mentions the 1.02 update coming out for PlayStation and Xbox consoles only, but in the patch notes itself there are fixes for "all platforms", and, digging further, there is a solitary fix relating to the Nintendo Switch version of the game.

Rockstar has apologised for the "unexpected" technical issues plaguing its widely lambasted Grand Theft Auto: Trilogy - Definitive Edition release, promising to put the classic versions of the games back on sale on PC and making them free to owners of the remaster.

Rockstar's Definitive Edition, developed by Grove Street Games, launched last week and immediately attracted ire for its myriad issues, including progression crashes, a widely documented procession of (admittedly sometimes hilarious) bugs, poor performance across all consoles, and a host of art concerns.

As Digital Foundry put it at the time, "The bottom line is that it's impossible to believe that this remaster was properly tested - and if it was, it seems that the bugs were not addressed by the developer. The end result is simply not good enough and this is such a shame. This is a landmark game and a genuinely important work."

Modders have begun work on the GTA Trilogy - despite ongoing concern about potential takedowns from Take-Two.

GTA Trilogy's disastrous launch came after a concerted campaign from Take-Two to scrub the internet of mods related to GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas. Take-Two even sued some of the people who reverse-engineered GTA code.

But that hasn't put off some modders who have tried to remedy some of GTA Trilogy's numerous faults.

Grammy award-winning rapper Dr Dre is producing music for a new Grand Theft Auto title, according to his pal and fellow rapper Snoop Dogg.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Snoop, who was asked whether we will see any new music from Dr Dre soon, said "I do know he's making great fucking music. And some of his music is connected to the GTA game that's coming out. So I think that that will be the way that his music will be released, through the GTA video game."

While it's possible Snoop might be referring to the upcoming remaster trilogy, Dr Dre hasn't released any solo music since the release of his 2015 album Compton, so it would seem odd for him to break his hiatus for a collection of old games.

The Confederate flag has been removed from a recurring GTA character in the series' new remastered trilogy.

As spotted by Kotaku, arms dealer Phil Cassidy no longer has the flag on his t-shirt. Instead it's sporting a skull design.

Cassidy is only briefly seen in the new trailer (at 0:34) and it's unclear if other depictions of the flag have been removed, but changing the T-shirt to remove the Southern slavery symbol is one example of how Rockstar Games is updating the game.
