– Introduced the links system – from now on you can move quickly to locations controlled by your nation which have direct connection to the capital city and aren’t attacked or on the frontline; talk to Logistician (can be found in every nation town, Last Stand forts and capital cities) to move to a given town
– Reduced the bows’ base damage mod coming from Strength by x 0.2
– Reduced base damage bows modifier from 0.75 to 0.5
– Increased the bows’ base damage mod coming from Dexterity by x 0.1

We have also expanded mechanics of claiming the guild territory and added a possibility for the castle’s owner to collect taxes from using workshops. Guild Control:

From this update you can raise your guild’s banner in the Castle Audunstede and Order of the Original Faith’s Keep! In contrary to the Skergard Castle, new guild territories aren’t turned against the owners’ nation, so you can also collect taxes gathered from ally players for using your workshops!

From this update, a guild owning a castle must possess a token which protects its’ territory from night riding. At the same time, the tokens will prevent one guild from controlling all guild territories on a given server, since we want large guilds to focus on the best and more wealthy territories and to leave the other ones to smaller guilds.

To do this, we had to introduce more complex rules of claiming a territory. First of all, a guild willing to capture a guild territory must have a free token slot – they can behave to be purchased in the guild window. If a guild has a free token, it can capture a guild territory. Also, by default only a guild leader or officers can claim a territory, unless leader or officers marked it by clicking RMB on its’ flag on the map. There is also a possibility to disclaim a territory by removing a token.

There are 2 phases of claiming a territory:

Phase 1 – territory is attacked by enemy nation:

During the first hour of State of War a territory can only be claimed by enemy guild, so it’s worth to unite with allied guilds for defense. Once the flag is taken down, the Final Battle starts – all guilds interested in claiming a territory fight each other by the flag.

Phase 2 – after defending territory from other nations guild from same nation demands a flag:

Guild from the same nation has to challenge the territory’s owner (RMB on flag in the map window and challenge).
Battle for flag will start after Phase 1, so it is suggested to help defending the flag you want to claim.
After Phase 1 you will get 10 minutes to get inside the castle walls (gates will let you inside), right to the main building which will be closed.
After 10 minutes, the pretendents against owners battle will start. It will last another 10 minutes and pretendents will have to destroy the main building gate and capture the flag. If they manage to do that before time run out they become owners, if not, actual owners holds the castle.

Why such changes?

During State of War on Skergard castle it is risky to let inside a castle anyone who is not from the owners guild, because they can capture the flag quietly. With new system we can let allies inside because they do not have opportunity to claim the flag during our inattention.

In the future we are planning to add following features:

– Extended gates control, so owners will be able to make gates passable for guild members or players of allied nation (it will allow to open lower castle levels just for allied nation)
– Respawn control, which will allow to set up dedicated respawn points for players from allied nation but not being castle owner guild members
– Treasury for taxes – incomes from taxes will be stored in guild treasury
– Guild deposit which will allow guild members to store and trade their goods using it

Combat/controller/synchronization:

We can’t forget that to own a guild castle, you have to fight over it! That’s why this update includes a lot of combat improvements. First of all, the melee combat will now be much more precise and formation-based, since from now on marching is the default speed in combat. From now on, proper footwork will matter much more in battles! At the same time, we’ve added a new feature: Legshot! Hit the enemy’s ankles – or knees – to slow them down and weaken them for a while. Enjoy the combat improvements and fight for Glory!

– From now on, marching is the default speed in combat; you can run by pressing and holding SHIFT and sprint by pressing SHIFT again
– Improved synchronizing positions of other players
– Increased walking speed
– From now on, regeneration is increased when marching (until now it has been increased only when walking or standing still)
– From now on, character can’t run, sprint or charge when slow effect is applied
– From now on, character can’t sprint in combat state (after attacking of receiving damage)
– Introduced Legshot – after receiving damage in legs, character’s damage is reduced to 80% and the slow effect is applied
– Improved animations of accelerating and stopping

Gameplay:

This update includes several gameplay improvements and balance tweaks as well. First of all, in repsonse to your feedback we’ve reduced the amount of Aqua Regia required to craft Bulat Sheets and added the Hydrochloric Acid’s recipe to droptables. Also, from now on you can use Dziwer Scraps as replacement for siderite in production of Dziwer Bars. Other materials obtained from disassembling items – Leather Scraps and Fabric Scraps – has increased usability as well.

We’ve just added new items too which which can be earned from excavations only - ancient swords, including the Crusher’s sword! Even though they have low durability, they are as good in combat as the regular swords. Also, from now on the chance to find Aqua Regia in excavations is significantly increased, so shovels in hands! Also, there are new reinforced chests and treasures. In total, there are now 210 unique chests waiting to be found in the breathtaking world of Gloria Victis!

– Added new reinforced chests and treasures – in total there are now 210 unique chests to find
– Increased chance to earn Aqua Regia from excavations and bosses
– Reduced amount of Aqua Regia required to craft bulat sheets
– Added ancient swords, including the Crusher’s sword, which can be earned from excavations only – even though they have low durability, they are as good in combat as the regular swords
– Added aydrochloric acid’s recipe to droptables
– Added possibility to use dziwer scraps as replacement for siderite in production of dziwer bars

Hello, adventurers! Time has come to use shovels and dig deep – excavation points await you! Who knows what long-forgotten treasures you can find in there?

Also, this update includes the backend rework of the equipment system. We did it to improve overall game performance (spikes on loading characters) and prevent crashing for some edge cases. Nothing should change visually, anyway if you would encounter any weird looking equipment model – either players or NPCs - please let us know!

Remember, that digging will give you some experience in mining and metallurgy and your tool durability has an impact on digging speed. Shovels are available at vendors - don't miss the chance! [Known issue: As digging animation is not finished yet, we’ve temporarily implemented a placeholder – we didn’t wanted to delay the feature]
– Added vertical bending of the character and shield - from now on you can manually protect specific part of your character's body
