The free DLC with the MULTIPLAYER mode for First Strike is here!
Don't forget to update the main game, the DLC only works with the latest version of First Strike. It's good to have your Steam Cloud settings activated for First Strike, so that your save file stays secured, while the app gets updated.

You will have a new button in the main menu that leads you to the multiplayer mode.

The keyboard shortcuts are deactivated in the multiplayer on purpose. The multiplayer has crossplay, which means PC players and mobile players play together. The shortcuts would be a big advantage for PC players and make it unfair for mobile players. Disabling shortcuts was a necessary compromise. The PC player base is not big enough to not have crossplay, so we have to mix the players and make it at least fair for everyone.

Yes, it’s happening! The multiplayer mode for FIRST STRIKE will be released as a FREE DLC on August 31. Soon, you can wage nuclear war against your friends and other players from all over the world on PC!


Features of the multiplayer mode will be:

• Play online PvP matches with up to 10 players!
  
• Choose from the twelve classic superpower nations like USA, Russia or North Korea and use their special superweapons like the Tsar Bomba or Dirty Radium Bomb.
  
• Host a private game and send an invite code to your friends. Or set the room to public and let other players join via the fast quickplay function.
  
• Activate modifiers to even out the playing field. Pick the “Balanced Start” or “Small State Support” modifiers for a more balanced experience for all players. Or keep the different power levels of the competing nations with the “Classic Mode”.
  
• Connect with allies or tease your enemies with quick emoji messages in the in-game chat.

You have been training on your fancy gaming rigs, it is time to prove your warfare skills on the upcoming mobile device battlefield.

We want to inform you that the free mobile version of First Strike is evolving with new content. We just released The Daily Conflict Update that includes seven new daily challenge modes! And we plan to continue on expanding the free mobile version of the game with more new gameplay content in the future.

Now some of you who play First Strike primarily on your PC may be asking: “But what about First Strike on Steam? I want to play the new content on my PC and not on a mobile device.”

Here we have to tell you that the Steam version will not get these new updates. We plan to keep the Steam version as it is because it is supposed to provide the typical, essential First Strike experience, hence the “Classic” title. The free mobile version on the other hand is our "nuclear playground" where we now experiment with new gameplay material. At the moment, a free Steam version of the game with the new content isn’t planned.

If you want to try out the new content and you have an Android or iOS device, you can easily get the free mobile version on the Apple App Store and on Google Play Store.

We hope you will continue to enjoy First Strike in its pure, iconic form here on Steam, as well in its new, evolving form on your mobile devices.

On this day, seven years ago, the first version of First Strike was released. A tiny game from a small development team with just the simple wish of creating a fast and frantic strategy game, that also shows to the world, how devastating our nuclear arsenal truly is.

The rest is history: First Strike was the game that started our company and kept us going for over seven years now. Over 11 Million players have played First Strike to this day across all platforms. We owe the bomb a ton. But most of all, we are here thanks to all of you. Thank you so much!

Today we have a special announcement to make. First Strike: Final Hour will get a massive update today, becoming First Strike: Classic.

Why is that? Well, you see, this Saturday, First Strike is turning 7 years old. And for this special celebration we did something special: We used the last months during the global lockdowns to remaster the whole game from the ground up.

First Strike: Classic is a new rebuild of the original First Strike, including:

• A new codebase completely rebuilt from the ground up to fight bugs
  
• A massively smarter AI with brand new behaviors
  
• Newly refreshed and redesigned interface
  
• And it is free of charge as an update for all First Strike fans

We’ve heard the feedback that First Strike was having some issues lately. Not only is this version more merciless and sleeker than ever before, we also hope this update will help to make First Strike ready for another nuclear decade.
