Hello Far Cry Map builders,

We heard your demand for another Map Jam and well, we love to supply!

So for the next three weeks, we'll be holding a Freedom Map Jam! Using the FC4 Map Editor, we want you to create a map expressing the theme of Freedom.

How to participate?
  • Publish your FC4 map between September 20 and October 11.
  • The name of your map should start with “MJ2 - nameofmap”.
  • You are free to use any game mode and any in-game modifier. Please do not use third-party Mods.
  • You are free to create on any platform. Note that PC builders and Console builders will be split into 2x separate categories.
  • Your map should highlight your vision of what “Freedom” means in Far Cry: either in narrative, level design, and/or visual. For example, it could be the freedom of attacking an outpost from any angle. Or escaping from a cell and aiming for your freedom!
  • You can publish additional screenshots & videos to further promote your map.

For more inspiration, you can take a look at the fankit and the FC5 E3 content. If you wish to pro-actively send us links to your images or videos, use Twitter (hashtag #FCMapJam) or email us (farcrycommunity@ubisoft.com).

Rules
  • Only ONE map creation can be submitted per person. This includes all platforms (So choose wisely)
  • No co-op projects or collaborations permitted. As much as we love co-op projects and collaborations, the idea is for solo projects to be created.
  • HAVE FUN! – We cannot stress this one enough. This is what Map Jams are about.

How will winners be selected?

We will hold separate contests from the PC builders and the Console builders.
From October 12 to 13, a selection of FC5 level designers and FC5 map editor developers will look at the maps created and vote for their favorites. The maps that get the most votes will win this Map Jam #2 (there will be others in the future).

Winners in each contest (PC or Console) will be picked out of the four categories:

Each category winner will receive a bundle of Far Cry 5 exclusive goodies.

Good luck and happy map building!

It's finally here. And by "it" we of course mean the highly-anticipated co-op update for the Far Cry 4 Map Editor. With the latest update, all of those awesome maps you've been playing and creating can be played in either single-player or with a friend. It's a gamechanger to be sure, and we know it's something fans have been asking for.

Below you will find answers to a few of the most common questions, as well as complete patch notes for this update:

Co-Op Map Editor FAQ's
  • All maps will be playable in co-op and in single player mode.
  • Map creators will be able to place two spawn points: The first one will spawn Player One, while the second one will spawn Player Two.
  • If only player spawn point is present on the map, both players will spawn at the same location.
  • In the Quick Play menu you can quickplay top rated maps, random maps, and host a co-op game.

New In-Game Editor [IGE] Features:
  • Consoles: Lock/Unlock camera function. This is available when using the "Select" tool.

  • Fixed an issue where Snow was deactivated when restarting a map while in the Map Editor.
  • Fixed an issue where the Vista and Snow did not appear once the map was published.

  • Fixed an issue that resulted in rotation not working for the spawners of wave 2 and 5, as well as for the ambient spawners.
  • Wave trigger settings should no longer reset to the default value when opening the map.
  • The healing syringe should now display the correct value after a Player has restrated the mission.
  • Static vehicles no longer count towards the AI budget.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause the Map Editor to crash while using the Bumb tool.
  • PC: Fixed the "Copy to Clipboard" function. Map creators can now copy and paste objects from one map to another.

Escape from Durgesh Prison, a challenging new time trial where players race against the clock and challenge other players for the top spot on the leaderboards, is now available!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNbCCuZhIUE
In this new piece of downloadable content for Far Cry® 4, Ajay and Hurk find themselves defenseless in the dangerous northern region of Kyrat after being captured, tortured and stripped of their weapons in Yuma’s prison. On their way to the extraction point, they will be able to complete a series of challenges kicked off by the tyrannical Pagan Min to acquire weapons and upgrade their gear before a final stand-off against Yuma's forces.

Playable in both single -and co-op, Escape from Durgesh Prison is a true test of players’ survival skills. They will need to arm themselves as quickly as possible, because in this mode when players die they must restart the mission and use the knowledge and skills they gained during their previous run-through to help them reach the extraction point successfully and vie for a top position on the global leaderboards.

Escape from Durgesh Prison is available as part of the Far Cry 4 Season Pass or can be purchased separately. The Season Pass includes Escape from Durgesh Prison as well as The Syringe mission, the Hurk Deluxe Pack, Overrun and Valley of the Yetis, a unique single-player and co-op experience where players will encounter the legendary beasts.
