Everything - Taku | PLAYISM
Hello all,
We recently implemented a large-scale update on Everything. The game now features a full Japanese localization! This was done by PLAYISM, an Indie game publisher based in Osaka. They have localized Night in the Woods, D4, and DEEEER Simulator among others.

Switch languages via "SETTINGS" > "Language"

We wanted to keep the original vibe by adding subtitles for Alan Watts' recordings and translating all the Thoughts, menus, object names etc.. Generated Thoughts also work.

If you can read Japanese, please give it a try, you might just find something new. Since Everything is like an exploded 3d encyclopedia, I hope it will also be a fun way to learn the language.

If you find any bugs or any issues in the Japanese build, please report them to us via this
Japanese bug reporting thread

This update also includes a much improved color correction system. The new one is more subtle and preserves contrast better. We also hit some existing bugs... thank you for reporting those.

Also - Everything was Polygon's #15 game of the decade. That was a surprise. ːclassicbearː

Final note - some of you might be familiar with the Alan Watts audio "It's Always You" in the game. I made an AR filter on instagram with that name and it blew the hec*k up (over half a billion views so far ːcoolskullː) Website post on It's Always You.

Thanx for reading & please enjoy the update.

Hey all, hope you are settling into 2018 well. We're on sale @ 50% off this weekend only, so please enjoy!

After much life adjustment, we are diving back into Everything and have some nice updates for our international players coming up, also a very interesting offshoot project, more on both later.

A cheat code (in case you missed it from twitter) - if you start a new game with the name 'Fool' - all objects, abilities and narration come unlocked. This is a little bit like NG+ but designed for testing the hell out the game and starting with a full library.

In the meantime - what would you like to see in Everything? Specifically, is there something in the logic, controls or timing that you found frustrating or could be improved? Let us know in the comments below.

thanks and best wishes,

David

P.S. we're nominated at DICE & GDC Choice this year, nice nice nice

Everything friends,

At your leisure, please stroll/scroll on over to the Store Page to nominate us for the Steam Awards.

The top category "The World is Grim Enough, Lets Just All Get Along" is for games without conflict or combat - which seems great. Of course, feel free to nominate us in any category you like.

Sorry if you're reading a million of these, i don't like asking for clicks, but the Steam Awards seem cool - most of our audience is already here, no extra signup needed, and the categories are good!

Also we're 45% off this week, so hope you can pick it up if it's on yer wishlist.

Thanks & happy thanksgiving,

David

Hey!
It's been only 1 week since we launched - and what an incredible week it has been.

Everything has been the #2 trending game on Steam for the past week [according to SteamSpy] so thank you for helping spread the word - and for taking the time to write nice reviews. It helps!

So - due to much support on the forum, and the help of some friends, we managed to release Everything for Linux! This includes all other features such as cloud saves and should run just as well as other platforms.

Other things in this build, now fixed:
  • Proper support for multiple monitors/ultra wide screens
  • Support for more controllers
  • Disaster Switch fixed (find it in Settings)
  • Some things were not being spawned, fixed. (thanks, completionists)
  • A few very rare bugs squashed
Thank you again for your feedback, crash reports, and for playing.

Hello!! We're so excited to finally release Everything on Steam!

This game has been a dream project and I never thought it would finally be out there in the world. Everything is a very simple idea that took 3 years and an enormous amount of work to make happen. Our core team is just 2 people, and we and we really hope you enjoy your experience with it.

Everything is a very different kind of game, and people will interpret it differently, but the best thing is to go in without any expectations. One thing to keep in mind is that there's no wrong way to play it - it's all designed so you can't make a mistake.

We've had very few issues so far, but managed to fix a few small things today and will continue with any fixes needed next week. Thank you to everyone on the Discussion page for bringing these things up and for helping each other out. In general - most issues in the game are solved by saving & reloading, or going Settings -> Restart area. We are, of course, committed to making sure you have the best experience possible and don't have to do this.

Finally - thank you if you already bought Mountain - you basically funded this project, and thank you for playing, posting, discussing and telling your friends about this game.

best wishes,

David

P.S. find the game on twitter twitter & facebook
