Euro Truck Simulator 2 - London

We're excited to announce that we’ll be continuing our SCS Fan Day Experience for the third time! On the 14th of November 2025, we will be inviting a selection of fans from our #BestCommunityEver to visit our offices in Prague, Czechia, for a memorable afternoon together. Interested? Continue reading to find out what you’ll get up to, how to apply, and the terms and conditions.

Our previous SCS Fan Day Experience, which took place on the 28th of March 2025, saw 20 passionate fans from our #BestCommunityEver, visiting our studio. During their time with us, they were given an in-depth guided tour of our building, a look into our live development, and even a sneak preview of some unreleased content. They also got some hands-on time with our 4D Motion Simulator, a look at our live‑streaming studio, and a chat with some snacks and hot drinks with our CEO, Pavel Šebor. They also didn't leave empty-handed, with our guests each receiving a special gift bag with official merch to remember their visit.

We are proud that everyone enjoyed the afternoon and had a great time! The whole group was full of virtual trucking enthusiasts, and some of them travelled a very long distance to visit us, which we are really honoured by. You can check out a short video recap of their visit with us here:

Interested in being part of our next Fan Day Experience? If you haven’t participated in the first or second SCS Fan Day, you’re welcome to apply for the upcoming event by filling out a simple application form, available until the 14th of October. This helps us give more fans the chance to visit us. From all applicants, SCS Software will personally select 20 community members, and we reserve the right to make the final choice.

Before applying, please keep in mind a few important details. Unfortunately, SCS Software cannot cover your travel or accommodation costs, so selected participants will need to arrange and cover these expenses themselves. Additionally, the event date is fixed and cannot be changed. If chosen, you will need to be at our offices in Prague on the 14th of November, 2025.

If you’re excited and agree with the terms mentioned above, we’d love for you to apply! We encourage you to share as much information about yourself as possible, maybe even include a photo or a short video introducing yourself and your passion for our games. Euro Truck Simulator 2 - [SCS] DuFF

As part of our ongoing Scandinavia Refresh project for Euro Truck Simulator 2, we'd like to share another exciting update with you. Today, we invite you to explore new routes through Denmark. This addition not only expands your options on your journey but also enriches the landscapes, settlements, and landmarks you’ll encounter along the way.

With this update, we'll introduce Motorway 16 (Hillerødmotorvejen) and Road 26 (Primærrute 26), offering a fresh inland passage across Denmark. These routes add a more varied and authentic experience to your travels, complete with two brand-new gas stations to keep you and your truck rolling on your adventures.

One of the highlights of this new connection is the road through Viborg. Here, you’ll find one of the newly added gas stations. Viborg’s placement makes it an ideal stop for both short and long hauls, offering a chance to refuel before continuing your journey deeper into Denmark.

Heading westwards, the route passes near the charming town of Skive. While the main flow of traffic skirts around the settlement, keen-eyed drivers may notice four of the “11 Stars of Skive” (more information on page 50) along the way. These four sculptures are: Torvet, Tegnet, Vestenvinden, and Kraka, which stand proudly as artistic landmarks, giving drivers an extra layer of local flavour to admire as they pass through.

Further along, the road reaches V. Vilsund, home to the second new gas station. Here, drivers will also cross the impressive Vilsundbroen bridge. In real life, this is a drawbridge that occasionally opens for passing ships. While it remains fixed in our in-game version, we are still proud to bring this important regional landmark to life for players to experience.

The addition of Roads 16 and 26 represents yet another step in our commitment to refreshing and enhancing the Scandinavia DLC. By continuing to expand and improve these areas, we aim to ensure that your trucking experience remains immersive, diverse, and as realistic as possible.

We look forward to sharing more updates with you soon as work on the Scandinavia Refresh project continues. Until then, keep your eyes on the road and enjoy exploring Denmark’s newest connections!

Make sure to follow us on our social media X/TwitterInstagramFacebookBluesky, and TikTok, or subscribe to our newsletter to receive all of the latest news about our games!

That's it for today! Have a good one and as always, keep on trucking!

Euro Truck Simulator 2 - London

With the upcoming arrival of our new Coaches DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2, we know many of you are curious about how the bus and coach experience will work across our in-game world. A big part of that experience is, of course, the bus stations themselves.

These locations will serve as the main hubs where players pick up and drop off passengers, and they’ve recently been receiving extra attention from our team as we prepare the in-game world for coaches. From refreshing old prefabs to introducing brand-new stations, we spoke with two of the developers involved in shaping ETS2 for this upcoming module.

"When work on Project Coaches began, there were already 7 prefab bus station models used in over 100 locations across the ETS2 map." Dominik, Producer of Project Coaches, explains “Our plan is to completely rework 6 of them, as they are almost 10 years old, while one of the newer prefabs from our Road to the Black Sea DLC will receive a light refresh. Some layouts will remain similar, but others will receive brand-new designs, based on real life locations. Unlike the older prefabs, which were surrounded by fences or walls, the new ones will allow us to remove them, so stations can connect more naturally with the environment. It may sound like creating those stations in the first place was work wasted, but it wasn’t, those prefabs served well as placeholders, and thanks to them, we can now rebuild and have over 100 coach stations ready across the map.”

However, not every bus station you’ll encounter was already in the game. In fact, many new stations are being added to improve overall coverage across Europe. “We checked the station distribution and tried to cover as many blank spaces as possible, and also add coach stations to most of the main cities,” explains Dominik. “Sometimes our map designers had already built custom coach stations, similar to custom depots. In other places, we didn’t have anything close to the city centre or to the real coach station location, so we had to improvise and use a small stop, which in reality is sometimes used by coaches.”

Of course, some stations stand out more than others. When possible, we’ve aimed to recreate famous or landmark coach stations. “Whenever there was a possibility to include a real-world landmark coach station within our map scale, we tried to use it and build a completely new station. A perfect example is Hunedoara in Romania, which is a completely unique landmark location. In some cases, we could even add a new road and fit a reworked prefab with a few notable landmarks around it.” explains Dominik.

Kain, one of our Map designers, adds: “Some custom stations will be harder than others to navigate. Our testers are making sure they are difficult, but not impossible, to manoeuvrer in. In some stations, you may encounter other vehicles already parked up, this will be a rare occurrence, but will make that stop much more challenging.”

Beyond visuals, the functionality of bus stations has also been improved. “With the new prefab stations, we did research on regulations for how much space is needed for coaches to manoeuvre. With the addition of smaller stops, players will have a really different experience depending on where they are” adds Dominik.

We’ve also seen some players on our forums asking whether the map updates coming with Project Coaches will be exclusive to those who own the DLC. We’re happy to confirm that any changes made to the base map or existing map expansions will be available to everyone who owns ETS2 or the respective map DLC, regardless of whether you own the Coaches DLC itself.

The work doesn’t end at release. As Dominik tells us, “We plan to long-term support Coaches by adding new stations to future DLCs and reworks, as well as to the current base map.”

We hope you enjoyed reading about the ongoing work for Project Coaches for Euro Truck Simulator 2. If you're excited to get behind the wheel of a coach, be sure to add this upcoming module to your Steam Wishlist. We look forward to sharing more news with you about this addition as development continues. Until next time, safe travels!

Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Tiktak

We have some more content to show our #BestCommunityEver from the upcoming Benelux Rework project for Euro Truck Simulator 2! Our map designers are currently working on revamping Brussels, the capital city of Belgium, and that is where we are heading today.

Brussels, nestled in the heart of Belgium along the Senne River, is often called the "capital of Europe" thanks to its role as home to the European Union and many other international institutions. But beyond politics, the city charms visitors with its blend of history, culture, and architecture. Medieval squares sit beside Art Nouveau gems, while cafés and Michelin-starred restaurants make it a paradise for food lovers.

The main part of Brussels coming to life in the Benelux Rework project is the city ring, with its complex junctions at the heart of this network. It links the industrial zones of the Forest and Anderlecht municipalities - home to a car factory, a chemical plant, and a logistics center - all of which will rely on your services to keep goods moving efficiently. You will also get a peek at the Schaerbeek municipality, where your deliveries will support an ongoing construction site.

From the ring road, several of Brussels' distinctive landmarks come into view. These include the world-famous Atomium, the Brussels Expo exhibition halls, and the cooling tower of the Centrale électrique de Drogenbos, illuminated at night with playful LED lights - all defining the city's unique skyline.

In the Schaerbeek municipality, you can spot beautifully recreated landmarks such as the Media complex of Mediapark with its modern Frame media center building, and the Tour Reyers telecommunications tower.

"We believe that we captured the capital of Europe much more accurately with our focus on logistics and truck deliveries," says Honza, the lead of the Benelux Rework project.

Hopefully, you enjoyed this preview of Belgium's capital, but please keep in mind that this project is still a work in progress. Until next time, be sure to keep up to date with the latest updates by following us on X/TwitterFacebookBlueSkyYouTube, and Instagram, and by subscribing to our newsletter! We wish you safe travels.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 - London

In today's blog, we would like to show you another glimpse from the upcoming Iceland map expansion for Euro Truck Simulator 2. This time, we are showcasing a selection of some beautiful churches you will be able to come across in the Land of Fire and Ice!

Starting off with the Hallgrímskirkja in the capital city of Reykjavík, built in the 20th century. This church has a lot of superlatives. Its tower is 73 metres tall, the largest in the country, and it is also home to Iceland's largest organ. While you won't be able to see it up close, it is an unmistakable part of the Reykjavík skyline.

On the island's northern coast, you can also find some remarkable churches. One is Akureyrarkirkja, a Lutheran church in the city of Akureyri, set on the shore of the Eyjafjörður fjord and framed by mountains. Another is Blönduóskirkja, a striking example of modern architecture in the small town of Blönduós.

From Akureyri, head east to the shores of Lake Mývatn and the town of Reykjahlíð. Here stands the Reykjahlíðarkirkja, a church with a fascinating history. During the 1729 Krafla eruption, lava destroyed much of the town, but the wooden church was spared when the flow split and passed just metres from its walls. It has been rebuilt twice since.

On Iceland's eastern coast lies the small but striking Seyðisfjarðarkirkja. One of the country's most recognisable landmarks, its distinctive colour and design have made it a favourite among visitors, especially since the street leading up to it was painted in rainbow colours.

Travelling south, you'll find Víkurkirkja, perched on a hillside above Vík. Its red roof and white walls stand out sharply against the dark volcanic landscape, making it one of the most photographed spots on Iceland's South Coast.

On the banks of the Ölfusá River, in the town of Selfoss, stands Selfosskirkja. Built and later expanded in the second half of the 20th century, it's worth a visit for its striking tower alone.

Some more churches await discovery, though their surroundings are still in early stages of development, so we took the screenshots of two of them in a placeholder location. Ísafjarðarkirkja, built in 1995, is an Art Nouveau Lutheran church in the city of Ísafjörður. Húsavíkurkirkja, a wooden church built in the early 20th century in the town of Húsavík, features beautiful craftsmanship and architecture that radiate a classic Nordic charm.

That's all for today! If we got you excited about this map expansion, don't forget to support us by adding the Iceland DLC to your Steam wishlist.

Remember to give our X/TwitterInstagramFacebookBluesky, and TikTok a follow as you'll receive updates about our games straight to your feed, or subscribe to our newsletter to stay informed! Until next time, keep on trucking.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 - London

Today, we are happy to share that the 1.56 Open Beta branch for Euro Truck Simulator 2 is now available to try and test out. If you plan on participating in this Open Beta, we would truly appreciate it if you could help us by reporting any bugs you may encounter in the appropriate section(s) of our official forums. Your feedback and reports really aid our team, and we would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to help us out.

Alongside this, we'd also like to mention that our teams are currently adapting to a new internal update cycle. Because future console releases will require us to lock in content earlier, this adjustment helps us better coordinate timing across every platform. It's a step toward greater consistency, and we're confident it will keep things running like clockwork.

It's also worth noting that while today's blog highlights some of the most visible changes and new content, there is always a lot happening behind the scenes. From preparing for consoles to laying the groundwork for upcoming projects such as the Coaches expansion for ETS2 or the Road Trip project for ATS, our teams are working hard to build the future of our games.

Now, without further ado, let's take a look at what the 1.56 Open Beta has in store.

Height Blend
The Height Blend effect is a technique used to create more realistic and visually appealing transitions between different types of terrains or surfaces, like grass, dirt, or stone. It works by utilizing a height map texture, a grayscale image that represents the elevation of a surface, to determine how different textures blend together.

For example, where a grassy hill slopes into a rocky cliff, the height blend effect ensures the textures mix naturally based on the terrain's height and slope, avoiding harsh or unnatural edges. For map designers, it eliminates the need for many decals, which previously had to be added to achieve a believable look, saving time and effort.

Under the hood, our team has converted, tweaked, and visually checked over 1,300 materials from our library to ensure seamless integration.
HS-Schoch Tuning Pack DLC UpdateWith this update, the HS-Schoch Tuning Pack is also receiving a substantial refresh and expansion! Our teams have been working diligently to update this popular DLC, adding new features and addressing many of the community’s requests. Let’s take a closer look at what is coming your way!

Accessory finishes:

  • Chrome

  • Paintable (can now be customised in any colour of your choice)

  • Matte paintable (also fully colour-selectable)

Grilles and Light Bars:

  • Roof bars will have new LED and non-LED versions

  • Front light bars will now feature LED, non-LED, and even strobe versions

  • Bottom grilles will also be updated, with slot-based options as well as an LED version

We are also bringing you two brand-new paint jobs. All of these new additions will give you more freedom to match (or otherwise) the tuning parts with your truck’s paint scheme and overall look!

Since the release of the HS-Schoch Pack, several new trucks have been added to ETS2. With this update, we’ve made sure to include bars for all the vehicles that were not part of the game at the time of the DLC’s original launch. We’re also excited to announce that big auxiliary lights will be receiving improvements, and this will be available to everyone as part of the base game update.

We truly appreciate your passion for customisation, and we’re happy to bring these improvements into the game. We can't wait to see how you tune up your truck with the HS-Schoch Pack! Read the full dedicated blog about the update here.

Special Transport DLC Update - CZ LOKO
Exciting news! With the upcoming 1.56 update, we will introduce new cargoes from the company CZ LOKO, a renowned manufacturer of locomotives, both to the Euro Truck Simulator 2 base game and also as part of the Special Transport DLC, giving players the opportunity to haul one of the heaviest cargos we’ve ever introduced into the game.

In the base game, we will be adding the MUV 75 and EffiShunter 300 locomotives. While these aren't the largest or heaviest machines you'll encounter, don't underestimate them - make sure your truck is well-prepared to handle the load. The MUV 75 tips the scales at over 14 tonnes, while the EffiShunter 300 weighs in at a hefty 36 tonnes.

Our Special Transport DLC roster is expanding with a true heavyweight, the EffiShunter 1000, a massive locomotive built by CZ LOKO. Truckers will haul this behemoth on a lowbed trailer. Just how big is it? The total height (including the trailer) reaches an impressive 5.3 metres, with a length of 16 metres and a width of 3.1 metres. Navigating corners with the EffiShunter 1000 in tow will demand precision and nerves of steel.

Your truck will need a powerful engine for this job - the locomotive alone weighs 80 tonnes, plus another 10 tonnes for the trailer. That's 90 tonnes of pure challenge rolling behind you.

You'll be able to deliver the EffiShunter 1000 along three routes: Berlin to Szczecin, Kassel to Hamburg, and Bremen to Travemünde. Each journey will be escorted by two escort vehicles to help ensure a safe trip from departure to delivery. Still, it's up to you to avoid any mishaps - and to keep this stunning locomotive free from so much as a scratch.

Schmitz Cargobull Trailer Pack DLC Update
We are pleased to reveal an exciting addition to the Euro Truck Simulator 2, the Schmitz Cargobull Trailer Pack. Our collaboration with Schmitz Cargobull continues to grow, and this update introduces new trailer types and features that expand your hauling experience.

The highlight of this update is the Schmitz S.CS High Capacity Transport (HCT). This configuration features two trailers connected with a dolly. Schmitz Cargobull now becomes the second brand in Euro Truck Simulator 2 to feature a 32m HCT trailer setup.

Also arriving in this update is the Schmitz S.KO City chassis, equipped with a steering axle, which provides greater manoeuvrability in tighter spaces. While this feature is primarily aimed at navigating urban environments, in Euro Truck Simulator 2, you are free to take it anywhere you like.

In addition to these trailer configurations, we’re also introducing new lighting options across Schmitz Cargobull S.CS, S.KO, S.BO, and S.KI trailers. These lights proudly display the Schmitz Cargobull logo, adding an extra layer of authenticity to your setup.

Read more about this update at our dedicated blogpost here.https://store.steampowered.com/app/2833100/Euro_Truck_Simulator_2__Schmitz_Cargobull_Trailer_Pack/
Camera Zoom - Hold/Toggle
The 1.56 update also brings a small but welcome accessibility feature. Players can now choose whether the interior zoom function requires holding the key (the default) or can be switched to a toggle mode. This option not only adds convenience but also improves accessibility, offering a more comfortable way for all players to take a closer look at the details inside their cab, in the mirrors, and around their truck. Players can find this feature in "Options → Gameplay and Options → Accessibility".

DLC BrowserWith the 1.56 update, we are also introducing a brand-new design for the DLC Browser. This redesign aims to make browsing and discovering additional content for your game easier and more enjoyable, while also giving you a better overview of what each DLC has to offer.

The updated browser now features improved categorization, with clear sections such as Featured, Bundles, Map, Cargo, Trailer, Accessories, and Paint Jobs. The main layout has also been refreshed, increasing the number of items displayed per row from three to four for a cleaner and more modern look.

The DLC browser is just the beginning of a feature with the potential to grow and evolve further. While it may take time and development to see how far it can go, the vision is to make it possible for players to explore and enjoy all of our DLC without ever leaving the game. Please note that this feature is still deep in the work-in-progress stage.

New Profile Creation and Start-up FlowWe're giving the profile system in Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator a big refresh, which includes a new UI design and improved navigation. The old table-style list of profiles has been replaced with larger, card-like slots providing a cleaner and more modern look. Your active profile will always appear at the top, with your other careers sorted by most recent playtime. The first slot is reserved for starting a brand-new career, and switching between your profiles is now quicker; simply double-click on a card to jump right in.

Whether you're a new player or a seasoned veteran, the profile creation process has also been redesigned to be simpler and clearer, focusing only on the most important options and selections needed when starting a new career.

A new Truck Preference screen has also been added between selecting your headquarters and the opening cutscene. Here, you can preview all available trucks in a rotating 3D view that spins automatically, or rotate them yourself. You'll be able to cycle through brands, switch between different models, or even press a “random” button to let the game surprise you. We hope this new preference screen gives both new and experienced players a detailed look at each truck and its key specifications.

We've also refreshed the Edit Profile screen, which now focuses only on details that really matter for your career. Many of the older fields have been moved elsewhere, keeping the editing process uncluttered and straight forward. To make things more convenient, clicking on your profile from the desktop top bar now opens a new Driver Details screen, where you can view all the important info about your career and even change your avatar without having to return to the title screen.

This redesigned approach not only makes profile navigation smoother but also gives the whole experience a cleaner, more modern feel. Whether you're starting your very first trucking journey or managing multiple careers, we hope this update makes your profile management more streamlined and accessible. Please note that this feature is still very much under development.

Management UI/UX Improvements
In the company tab on the desktop, the driver, trailer, truck, and garage manager screens now feature a redesigned company subscreen. The refreshed company subscreen shows the company name and logo alongside key statistics, a redesigned seven-day profit graph, and highlights of the most profitable assets. It also introduces an economy summary pop-up for quick performance review and a company properties option for editing the name and logo.

We've also added a quality-of-life improvement to the relocation screen: when both a driver and their truck can be placed in the same garage slot, a checkbox allows relocating them together in one step. To improve accessibility, the garage manager and driver manager are now unlocked from the very start of the game, rather than only after purchasing a truck.

Finally, the driver manager subscreen has been polished with a clearer layout, including a new XP bar that lets players track their NPC drivers' progress, and a simplified job information and skills overview, where you can assign a collective preferred training policy for newly hired drivers. Please remember that this feature is still deep in the work-in-progress stage.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Tiktak

Exciting news! With the upcoming 1.56 update, we will introduce new cargoes from the company CZ LOKO, a renowned manufacturer of locomotives, both to the Euro Truck Simulator 2 base game and also as part of the Special Transport DLC!

We are very excited that we can welcome CZ LOKO to the world of Euro Truck Simulator 2, and we'd like to thank them for allowing us to bring their impressive locomotives into the game, giving players the chance to haul them across Europe in true trucking style!

In the base game, we will be adding the locomotives MUV 75 and EffiShunter 300. While these aren't the largest or heaviest machines you'll encounter, don't underestimate them - make sure your truck is well-prepared to handle the load. The MUV 75 tips the scales at over 14 tonnes, while the EffiShunter 300 weighs in at a hefty 36 tonnes.

The Special Transport already features oversized cargoes such as the Articulated Hauler, Large Reservoir Tank, Giant Silo, and many more. Now, the roster is expanding with a true heavyweight - the EffiShunter 1000, a massive locomotive built by CZ LOKO.

Although the EffiShunter 300 and EffiShunter 1000 are inspired by real locomotive models, we recreated them based on CZ LOKO's design concept to reflect the company's vision for the future. This means you'll get to transport machines that haven’t even entered real-world production yet!

Remember that if you want to haul this beauty of a cargo, you will need to own the Special Transport DLC. Don't have it yet? You can grab it anytime on Steam and gain access to a whole range of oversized loads. And when the 1.56 update rolls out, the EffiShunter 1000 will be added to the DLC for free.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 - London

Recently, we had the exciting opportunity to be a part of the Find Your Next Game online showcase, a digital event that runs alongside Gamescom which highlights upcoming titles and projects across the gaming industry. We imagine some of you may have caught our special feature there, but just in case you didn't, let us share with you more about it!

This year, we are proud to have our upcoming Nordic Horizons DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2 selected to be part of this year’s FYNG lineup! One of the conditions on being part of this digital showcase is that all featured video content has to be exclusive to the show and not seen before on any other platforms. So, our talented video team got to work and created a fresh, extended trailer made especially for this showcase, offering viewers a glimpse of the stunning roads, cities, towns, landscapes, landmarks, and industries that await you in this upcoming expansion.

Now that the show has concluded, we are happy to release the trailer publicly, which you can now watch on our official SCS Software YouTube channel. Take a watch of it below, and if you enjoyed it, make sure to leave a like, and comment! It really helps support our channel and future releases.

We’d like to thank the Find Your Next Game team for featuring us in this year’s event and for providing a platform where we could share this new content with a wider audience. We’re looking forward to showing you even more from Nordic Horizons in the near future. If you like what you see, be sure to add it to your Steam Wishlist. We'd like to thank you all for your support so far, and until next time, keep on truckin'!
