What is Defenders of Etheria?
It’s about time the Old One’s Army played defense! Enraged by the death of his father at the hands of the Harbinger, the Prince of Dragonfall has enlisted Etheria’s mightiest heroes to lead a crusade against the Old One’s Army.

Defenders of Etheria won’t be your traditional tower-defense game (not that Dungeon Defenders was very traditional to begin with), but a cooperative, rogue-lite bullet-heaven with all the added charm and stoicism of your favorite mostly-silent protagonists!

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened - ChromaticJoe
Greetings, defenders!

Today we’re rolling out Cross-Save capabilities to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox versions of DD:A! This feature will allow players to seamlessly link progression and save data across up to three accounts–one on each of the aforementioned platforms. The linking of two or more accounts is permanent, so please be sure to thoroughly read the information and F.A.Q. provided within this post!

Cross Save
When establishing Cross-Save, players will designate one primary account. The save data and progression of the primary account will be used to overwrite any save data and progression of any linked secondary accounts. Please select your primary account carefully.

Once a link has been established, your entitlements from your secondary account(s) will transfer to your primary account. DLC will not transfer from one account to another. The DLC must be owned on both platforms to be utilized within the Transmog menu.

There is nothing preventing two linked accounts from being logged into simultaneously, although this is likely to cause data loss on one or more of the linked accounts. Please do not attempt this as customer support will not be capable of restoring your game save!

Linking Accounts
  1. Launch Dungeon Defenders: Awakened and select 'Play Online'.

  2. Navigate to the ‘Options’ menu and select the ‘Account’ tab.

  3. Navigate to https://link.dungeondefenders.com/.

  4. Copy your PlayFab Support ID and Link Code from the ‘Account’ menu. If you intend on using this as your primary account, paste these codes into the ‘Primary PlayFabId’ and “Primary Link Code’ fields on https://link.dungeondefenders.com/.

If you are linking a secondary account, paste these codes into the ‘Secondary PlayFabId’ and ‘Secondary Link Code’ sections. Please note that the save data of secondary accounts will be overwritten and is not recoverable.

  5. Close all instances of Dungeon Defenders: Awakened.

  6. Click ‘Establish Link’, and enjoy your seamless cross-save capabilities!
Repeat these steps as necessary if linking more than one secondary account.

F.A.Q.
Q: Can I unlink my account(s)?
A: Linking your accounts via Cross-Save is permanent, and can not be undone.

Q: I’ve accidentally made the wrong account my primary account–can anything be done?
A: Once a primary account has been designated, it can’t be changed.

Q: How long does the linking process take?
A: Configuring Cross-Save only takes a few minutes. Once the link is established, Cross-Save will usually activate within five minutes.

Q: Will my saves be merged?
A: No, only the primary account’s save will be available after the link has been established.

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened Hotfix

Greetings, Defenders! Today, we released a small hotfix to address recently discovered issues within the live build, including an issue that was improperly flagging some users for cheating.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where loot would appear invisible when swapping heroes.
  • Fixed “Patch Notes" button linking to the wrong update.
  • Fixed an issue where the 'Tavern Stash' was causing some players to be incorrectly flagged as a hacker. For those affected, you will no longer be hacker flagged upon your next login.
  • Improved the tooltip experience within the 'Tavern Stash' based on player feedback.
  • Better optimized interactables (e.g., objects that you can look at and a UI appears) with the changes that were made for split-screen in non-split-screen games.

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened - Split-Screen, Tavern Storage and Cross-Save Update

Greetings, Defenders! Today the additions and changes from the Public Test Realm come to the live game, along with the foundation for Cross-Save and more fixes. Our appreciate goes out to all Defenders who participated in the PTR, and those that provided feedback!

You'll find these patch notes strikingly similar to our previous post on the 17th of January, so we've provided the courtesy of bolding new additions.

Split-Screen
Implemented Split-Screen! This feature is currently limited to two players. To enabling Split-Screen;
  1. Grab a keyboard and a controller (or two controllers).
  2. If using only one controller, go to the options menu, and within the 'Gameplay' tab select 'Use First Gamepad for Player 2'.

  3. In the top-right of your pause menu, add another player as usual, but as opposed to selecting 'Online', you'll select 'Split-Screen'.

  4. Get defending!

Tavern Stash
  • Implemented the Tavern Stash! This new storage system can hold up to 1000 items, and is accessible--as the name implies--within your Tavern!
  • Player Inventory Reduced from 525 to 200 slots (any overflow items have been moved to your Tavern Stash). This also greatly improves multiplayer load times.

Quality of Life
  • Rune tooltips now include which hero can effectively utilize the rune.
  • Hosts of multiplayer games will notice a new hint for force-readying other players (the current shortcut is Ctrl + G on PC).
  • Client party icons now default to the player's current hero if playing offline or Steam is unavailable.
  • When one or more accessories are not equipped on the current hero, a warning for the associated slot(s) will be displayed on the transmog UI.
  • When trading, players can now type "1M" / "1B" / "1T" to add a million / billion / trillion gold respectively.
  • Players are now able to toggle their match between public and private with the 'Change Access' option on the pause menu.
  • Players can manually lower the rank of any given rune in the 'Runes' tab.

Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where swapping heroes during Guardian's 'Shield Slam' would no longer allow you to move.
  • Fixed a crash related to selling multiple items at once.
  • Fixed a gap left of a spawn door on Bazaar that the player could crawl through.
  • Fixed a typo in the description of Guardian's 'Divine Judgement'.
  • Fixed Warden's Action Wheel tooltips not filling out their numerical values.
  • EV's Action Wheel now includes descriptions for her 'Plasma Defense System' and 'Heat Cannon Defenses'.
  • Fixed a formatting issue in Huntress' 'Poison Trap' description within the Action Wheel.
  • The Outcast Summoner's defense tooltips now have color-coding,
  • Fixed Outcast Summoner's missing defense descriptions in their Action Wheel.
  • Tower placement sounds are now spatially located at the tower itself (previously emanated from the player).
  • Held Actions now display as such in the 'Controls' section of the Options Menu.
  • Fixed Massacre enemies' icons showing as Nightmare on the lane billboards and tactical map.
  • Fixed defense statistics not showing decimal places in some non-English localizations.
  • Fixed an issue where a player's death icon would not disappear if that player died with their tactical map open.
  • Fixed an issue where tooltips would sometimes display beyond the bottom of the screen.
  • 'Strengthen Field' now drops as intended.
  • Fixed an issue where in-world item tooltips would cut-off in some non-16:9 resolutions.
  • Fixed an issue where enemies caught in a stun would not have their corresponding cough/stun animation.
  • Fixed an issue in the 'Stats' UI where hero DPS would only update upon adding attack points but not when subtracting them.
  • Fixed an issue where the 'Grenadier' and 'Chicken Chucker' would not visually produce explosions.

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened - Paimon
Hotfixes:
  • Fixed an issue where split-screen profiles were not saving correctly in the PTR build.
  • Fixed an issue where in-world item tooltips would be cut off in some non-16:9 resolutions.
  • Fixed an issue where enemies damaged in the middle of a stun would look like they’re doing nothing, rather than actually being in a stun/cough animation.
  • In split-screen, player 2’s highlight pointer now displays as expected in the pause menu.
  • Fixed an issue in the Stats UI where hero DPS was only updating correctly when adding to Attack points, not subtracting.
  • The tavern stash’s “Transfer All” keybind now displays correctly.
  • Both search bar filters now work as expected in the Tavern Stash UI.
  • Fixed an issue where “Auto-Loot Overflows to Stash” setting wasn’t in Gameplay settings.
  • Fixed an issue where Player 1 profile saves were incorrectly named in the PTR build. Please note that the previous hotfix incorrectly removed “_PTR_35190” from the save file, so if you’ve played during that time, you’ll want to add this to the end of your save file’s name to keep progress.
  • Core Transmog tab has been hidden again.
  • Fixed an issue where Summoner’s Phase Shift being used on Player 2 caused Player 1 to lose focus of the viewport. Because of engine limitations, only Player 1 goes into top-down mode during Phase Shift. When Player 2 uses Phase Shift, they can look around as usual in third-person mode.
  • In the action context menu (e.g., the menu when interacting with an item in the inventory), highlight focus is now shown with a border.
  • Fixed an issue where the main bag filter (All Items) was not saving the filters when using the Tavern Stash UI. Please note that it is intended for the “All Items” bag filter to not save to the actual profile, allowing it to reset to no filters on game restart (This is how it acts on live).
  • You can now properly click the bag filters in the Tavern Stash and Trading UIs as expected.
  • Fixed an issue where “Auto-Loot Overflows to Stash” wasn’t auto-looting into stash as expected.
  • Fixed an issue where “insert gamepad offset setting name here” wasn’t applying properly when restarting the game.

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened PTR - January 17th, 2024

The PTR is available to all players who own Dungeon Defenders: Awakened on Steam. To opt into this beta, right-click DD:A within your Steam library, select 'properties', 'Betas', and finally, 'Public Testing Realm' from the drop-down at the top of the window. Our goal with PTRs is of course to collect as much community feedback as possible, so please utilize that 'PTR Feedback Survey' button (hit 'escape' to find it)!

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened - Philamancer
DEFENDERS,

Game Version v2.1.0.35337

Changes:
  • Updated Stuck Enemy Detection
    • When an enemy is stuck and not actively attacking the game or stunned it will attempt to reposition the enemy back on to a valid location, if this fails multiple times it will kill the enemy.
      • This should help either fix stuck mobs or kill them off much quicker instead of waiting for them to timeout.
      • Additionally Flying enemies are exempt from this system, due to their special pathing.
  • Strengthen Field Rune
    • Now heals back a % of the damage from reflected projectiles increasing per rune rank.
    • Additionally it now properly drops at the correct map & act.
  • Spiders
    • They will now hunt down towers instead of chilling at the core.
    • Rift Spiders are able to throw webs again.
  • King's Game
    • Now has some ambient sounds.
Bugfixes:
  • Rift Portals now spawn after wave 1010 in endless survival.
  • Foundries and Forges Furnace collision has been updated.

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened - Philamancer
Defenders,

This update is available on Steam! This update contains King’s Game, a recreation of the DD1 map, Player Titles and an overhaul to how special enemies spawn in the wave.

While this update is a on the smaller side, our goal is to continue to break up large chunk updates into more bitesize updates that constantly improve player experience instead of having long periods between updates.
New Map - King's Game

This was a very popular DD1 map and has been highly requested to return to DDA. We’ve brought back the Dice pet as a map's pet reward. This pet will offer a lot of similar features to the original but with some slight changes to fit DDA’s design.

We've seen feedback from players about bringing back some of the weapons from Kings Game and this is something we will continue to investigate, as well as potentially look into some new runes to populate the map rewards a bit more.

Player Titles

Player Titles were a reward offered during our Kickstarter, BackerKit and Xsolla pre-order days. Adding this will allow players to display a title below their nameplate for other players to see when playing in multiplayer. We will be looking into distributing the special player titles in the near future, and will let players know once those have started going out.

There are also a handful of player titles that are tied to achievements. That way if you didn’t get any of those rewards you will still be able to have access to titles.

New Schedule System
A new schedule system to help evenly spread-out the special enemies throughout the wave, without the many flaws of the current system causing enemies to come out too quickly or delay the wave waiting to spawn. This should help with the issue players were seeing with having to wait for ogres or sirens at the end of the wave to spawn.

Balance & Changes
  • Guardian
    • Owl Perch
      • Disabled attack rate overflow which was causing damage values to go higher than intended as the Owl Perch doesn't have a traditional attack rate and more of a reset time.
  • Fixed issue with Texture Streaming setting not enabling properly, this should hopefully help with some of the textures not loading properly.
    • This will be a monitored changed for any issues that may arise.
  • Fixed issue with Holy Cannon rune killing Rift Portals.
  • Giraffe now gives 20% Cast Rate.
  • Mista Mine now gives 30% Cast Rate.
  • Guardian SFX have been updated
Tavern Storage (Postponed)
While Tavern Storage was one of the features we had hoped to include in the update, during the PTR there were a couple of reported issues that needed more time to be investigated and as such we’ll be giving this feature a little more time to cook as we look into those. That said we are hopeful it shouldn’t be too far behind and our goal is to get it in the game when possible.

What’s Next?
We’ll be working on investigating the remaining issues with Tavern Storage and look at releasing that once ready. After that we’ll be continuing to make progress on our road map features. The goal being to release another smaller update hopefully by the end of June.
