Former Bungie composer Marty O'Donnell has asked people to "destroy" Destiny assets he made available without permission.

In a message published on his YouTube channel and Twitter page, O'Donnell read out a prepared statement that will likely fall on deaf ears:

"I do not have, and have not had since at least April 2014, the legal authority to possess or distribute non-commercially available material related to Destiny or Music of the Spheres (including material I composed or created while working for Bungie)," O'Donnell said.

Bungie has announced how much of Destiny 2's Forsaken expansion will be vaulted when the next expansion, The Witch Queen, arrives next year.

As of 22nd February, 2022, Forsaken's campaign, the Tangled Shore destination and the bulk of Year 4's seasonal content - including the fan-favourite Presage and Harbinger missions - will be removed from the game.

Bungie clarified not all Forsaken's content will disappear - with the Dreaming City destination, Last Wish raid, Shattered Throne dungeon and associated Strikes remaining in the game - while Year 4's Proving Grounds strike and Battlegrounds will remain.

Got smashed in Destiny 2's Trials of Osiris last weekend? Developer Bungie is making some changes to the 3v3 high-stakes PvP mode for this weekend that should help.

In a post on Bungie.net, the developer said it's making two key changes to matchmaking based on how things went on the successful reintroduction of Trials last weekend.

The first of these relates to the matchmaking for players after seven wins.

Destiny 2's exotic fusion rifle, Telesto, has once again been disabled in PvP activities Crucible and Gambit.

This time it's the Thermoclasic Blooming Artifact mod from the Wayfinder's Compass that's to blame. Because it creates an Orb of Power when defeating an enemy via a solar or stasis melee attack, the Telesto's projectiles essentially generate infinite orbs - which is deadly in competitive play, of course.

Here's the bug in all its glory, courtesy of Skarrow9 on YouTube:

Bungie has "temporarily disabled" the Destiny 2's Radiant Dance Machines leg armour in all PvP and Gambit activities.

Confirmation came way of a tweet from the Destiny 2 studio, which acknowledged the armour permitted Hunters to dodge "an unintended amount of times", including during competitive matches in its Gambit and Crucible playlists.

"Due to an issue that allows Hunters to dodge an unintended amount of times in a row, we have temporarily disabled the Radiant Dance Machines Exotic Hunter leg armor in Gambit and all PvP activities," the studio said.

Destiny 2 PC players may notice an impact to their game's performance following the recent addition of anti-cheat software, Bungie has warned.

BattlEye was added to Destiny 2 last night as part of the game's 3.3.0 update. Alongside this, Bungie published a security update blog detailing its arrival - and what it may mean for performance.

"Anti-cheat solutions require some additional system resources to keep watch and you may see some reduction in frames and performance after Update 3.3.0 goes live," Bungie wrote. "The new service will also increase the initial startup of the game."

UPDATE 5.30pm: Bungie has announced a 30th anniversary event to be held this December, in-game within Destiny 2, with a new dungeon set within Destiny's iconic loot cave. Themed items will be offered celebrating Bungie's past, including previous games, and return the fan-favourite weapon Gjallarhorn.

A six-player matchmade activity will be made available for free, but the above will come as part of a paid 30th Anniversary event pack that will let you explore the Loot Cave dungeon, gain a Thorn-inspired armour set and the claymore sword from Myth.

Separately, as well as confirming all of the below leaked details on Destiny's upcoming Witch Queen expansion, Bungie also gave a name to the game's big finale expansion set to wrap up the franchise's first 10-year slab of story. The Final Shape will round off Destiny's "Light and Darkness Saga" at some point following its previously-announced 2023 expansion Lightfall.
