Composer Marty O'Donnell has been found in contempt of court over his use of Destiny assets and now owes Bungie tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees, Eurogamer can reveal.

In April this year, Bungie served the celebrated composer behind the original Halo music with contempt of court papers over videos related to Destiny that were uploaded to O'Donnell's YouTube channel and other platforms.

Some of these videos were early musical sketches of what became Music of the Spheres, the much-loved musical foundation for 2014's Destiny.

Nefarious fans selling codes for an upcoming Destiny 2 player emblem have been called out by Bungie.

The in-game emblem, themed after the beloved Spicy Ramen Coupon item, was planned as a surprise free gift in July, Bungie community manager dmg04 was forced to reveal.

The emblem was discovered by dataminers peering within Destiny 2's API. Some fans then began to charge for early access to it.

Vault of Glass, Destiny's first ever raid and one of the best co-operative experiences in all of video games, will be brought to Destiny 2 on 22nd May.

In a new blog post, Bungie said its goal was not to "fundamentally evolve" the raid into something new - so expect to see familiar encounters, bosses and that same sneaky path through the Gorgon maze if you dip back in.

Unlike in the original Destiny, the rest of Venus, where Vault of Glass lies, will not be playable. So don't expect to sit outside VOG's front door waiting for randoms to turn up. Now, this will be a private space for your fireteam.

Bungie has finally detailed Destiny 2's long-awaited transmog system, and it sounds like a parody of the game's mission loops, management of multiple materials and optional microtransactions.

Black Armoury vendor Ada-1 has taken on transmog duties in the Tower, and you'll visit her to cash in your materials and acquire Synthcord bounties. These can relate to playing all parts of Destiny 2 - Strikes, Cruicible, Raids, Gambit etc.

The next-gen optimised version of Destiny 2 launches on 8th December 2020, Bungie has announced.

That's for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. On those consoles, expect faster load times and cross-gen play (Xbox Series X|S players can play with Xbox One players, and PS5 players can play with PlayStation 4 players) on 10th November. But players will have to wait until December for other next-gen upgrades, such as running at 4K on PS5 and Xbox Series X, 1080p on Xbox Series S, and 60fps on all three consoles.

Also in December, for the first time a Field of View slider will be available on consoles. "Our goal is to enable a FOV range similar to that on PC," Bungie said. "We're currently testing these settings to ensure smooth performance across each platform and will have additional details closer to launch."
