We have resolved the issue where text was incorrectly presented when playing in Japanese. Afterlife and the Ashes of Vados DLC are now fully playable in Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese without the formatting errors.

We are aware of the issues players are running into when playing the game in the newly added Asian languages, specifically Japanese, where the wrong lines are displayed at key moments. We're currently working to resolve this issue as soon as possible, and are very sorry for the inconvenience. We will make ensure that all console versions of Afterlife will not have these same translation issues going forward. In the meantime, the CERO version of Death's Gambit: Afterlife recently released on Nintendo Switch does not have this same localization bug when playing in Japanese.

We appreciate your patience and will provide another update as soon as the bugs have been resolved!

Translations: Death’s Gambit: Afterlife and DLC will be getting Chinese, Japanese, Korean translations! They will be releasing May 19th!

Highlights
Russian Language is now available!

Fixed a crash related to defeating the AI boss in a certain way.
Scythe Death Watch ability now scales with finesse.
Fixed a bug with killing blow resilience that could cause your character to take extra damage.
Purple expanding circle attack no longer deals damage even if under effects of soul invulnerability. during heroic avatar of thalamus.
When interacting with Vrael/Ione souls in aldwynn sewers you can no longer spam interact button and cause cutscene to not play.
Fixed a small bug related to the Sorun clone close to the Giant Rabbit.
Skeleton Key now has a description on the rabbit merchant.
You no longer take chip damage when using Mistra Shield.
Rolling out of gouge animation will still make the ability go on cooldown.
Infinite Dash costs more stamina per dash.
Dodgeroll haste talent from the Assassin class now correctly lowers cooldown of ability in slot 4.
Lizard asking for blindfold can now accept an upgraded blindfold item.
Pausing the game during the true ending credits no longer causes Death wearing an apron to clip with the background art.
During the vision of your family happy together before the gambit choices Sorun no longer just blurts out "That thing can fly now?!"
Hammerhead enemy in chamber can no longer get stuck in the ceiling after using a certain attack.
In Amulvaro bossfight phoenix daggers mote ability always strikes no longer always strikes the lowest floor, regardless of player position.
Can non longer trigger the camera rotating effect in ylnoth by jumping on the platform with the hammerhead enemy right after it.

Highlights:
After defeating 5 heroic bosses, WILL no longer increases from dying. It can still be increased from other sources.
Blades of the Phoenix motes are no longer consumed after blocking.

Crash fixes:
Improved memory usage in the Caer Siorai ceiling on PC, some computers should no longer crash here.
Improved memory usage in the ??? room with the rain, it should help some computers not crash here.

Balance:
Bysurge Heroic now drops capes instead of boots.
Spells/Bullets created by the giant drone and ash (during heroic thalamus) deal damage sooner if you blocked an attack recently.
Serpent Barrage and Spear Rush now correctly scale with STR if using the spear adjustment talent.
Halberd Lunge and Cyclone correctly scale with FIN if using the halberd adjustment talent.
Owlking journals correctly increase damage dealt to Owlking boss.

Misc:
You can now correctly place markers on the edges of the map.
After defeating Aberrant AI and getting the cutscene with Death, the markers on the map will now persist after the cutscene.
Fixed a weird issue in which getting stomped by forgotten gaian would cause Sorun to play a weird knocked down animation.
Amulvaro double sword attack no longer hits the player from behind even if the player has the turtle shield.
Amulvaro's heavy sword attack now has a more forgiving parry window, it was a bit buggy.
If Amulvaro dashes from a portal above the player he will now have his sprite correctly facing down.
Infinity Slicer uses correct sprite when player is has weapon charged and they move forward and back.
Charge sound effect now correctly plays when charging Infinity Slicer.
Soul Gambit now correctly increases spell blade shadow clone damage.
Spell Blade shadow clone now correctly deals damage when using a spellblade air attack.
Flying rabbits no longer deal damage while player is in a cutscene in the Rabbit Burrow.
Buying multiple weapons or armor from a merchant now correctly gives you all the weapons and armor you bought.
Endless no longer lowers WILL every time she is defeated in heroic.
Dying to spikes after defeating Cusith no longer bring you to the boss death results screen.
Going to NG+ and talking to Alistair (without resetting the game) no longer shows recipes obtained before NG+.
Assault Drone now teleports to Sorun instantly if the drone is too far away.
Skeleton Key is now purchasable from the Acolyte Lizard Merchant.

Can now correctly buy abilities from ione in darkness falls while in keyboard only mode without closing the ability purchase ui.
Should no longer lose soul trigger ability when respeccing.
Fixed an issue which cause the hammer amarog enemy to fall down a platform in the central sanctuary ice cave.
Fixed a bug that caused the main menu to get stuck in its original version.
Added a missing save point icon to the map in Journey's End, if in NG+ and the acolyte class.
Darkeater greatsword dash now correctly scales with int when wearing theurgist aura.
Soul boost ability no longer reduces cooldown of ability in slot 1.
Player can no longer use a crow plume to teleport out of the first few rooms of Collapsing Nightmare.
Heroic Forgotten Gaian is a bit easier now.
Some enemies will no longer say they dropped items that are over +12 upgrade level, even if they actually didn't. Would happen in high NG+.
Rain now correctly falls during the Bulwark boss fight again.
Standing over broken save points as an acolyte class now correctly show a prompt that indicate you should press the interact button.
Immortalite blade no longer gives damage bonus even if not attacking with Immortalite Blade.
Can no longer trigger a grey wanderer cutscene in labyrinth if she has been attacked enough.
Skytomb purple orbs no longer deal damage when half visible.
Projectiles from Inquisitor halberd now get their damage correctly adjusted.
Valkyrie spears that fall have their damage correctly adjusted.
Perfect blocking with perfect block haste no longer reduces the cooldown of ability in slot 4.
Dark sigils no longer apply a new buff tooltip instead of refreshing the old one.
Fixed a crash with heroic Eldritch Council related to defeating her before any of her other eldritch casters.
Enemy projectiles now correctly despawn after defeating heroic Forgotten Gaian.
Blind bomb and blind traps now only gain charges if you have the correct trap mastery talent.
Dive kick now correctly affects Wraith King Sirad.
Skybreaker explosion now correctly scales with finesse if longsword adjustment is unlocked.
Soul trigger should no longer duplicate.
Added a failsafe that makes the fortitude spellbook appear again if you lost the ability via a bug.
Valkyrie plume healing amount is now correctly affected by vitality stat.
Pyroclasm talent now also makes tome fire 2 explosion create many bouncing fireballs that hit enemies around you.
Explosion from cosmic bow now correctly benefits from marksman aura.
Parrying a sorun doppleganger that is using the tome dark 1 dash attack no longer causes him to repeat his animation. Now correctly parries him.
Can no longer take damage from chamber floating mines while in a cutscene.
Exiting to the left inside the afterlife room with the valkarie miniboss no longer teleports the player to a weird spot in the next room

Crash and softlock fixes:
Fixed a crash related to being grabbed right before defeating Avatar of Thalamus.
The Crow can no longer spawn allies outside the arena and softlock the encounter if boss is close to the edge of the arena.

Balance:
Adjusted NG+ balance.
Vrael Axe Weapon throw now deals much more damage.
Scythe of Restless Spirits mote generation increased again.
Wizard tier 5 armor now costs same amount of meteorite scraps to craft as all other Tier 5 equipment.
Tundra Lord Kaern no longer changes direction during his long hand swipe attack.

Misc:
Will now correctly resets to 100 upon enting a new NG+.
Can now attempt to buy more items that you can hold from merchant, it will buy only as many as you have space for.
When selecting how many items to buy, the number count loops around. Should help Noble builds.
If you defeated a fragment of exiled god and didn't pick up the item it dropped, it will now appear in your inventory anyways.
Fixed an issue with Wraith King boss music not updating volume.
Rusty Charm now correctly reduces damage from giant explosion attack during Avatar of Thalamus heroic.
During Avatar of Thalamus heroic, you no longer take damage from Bysurge clone explosion if it is fading away.
Safeguard talent no longer affects SS shields.
Fixed issue with Safeguard talent not working immediately upon loading a savefile.
Orange Forest now spelled correctly in inventory screen.
Added way to leave Obsidian Vale without infinite jump flower upgrade.
Skybreaker longsword now correctly works with Longsword Adjustment talent.
Loading a save file from the original Death's Gambit now correctly resets augmented plumes.
Fixed Shaman shield and Bulwark Shield descriptions in scrap menu.
After defeating Heroic Endless and leaving post ending A, Death will no longer say his small dialogue about how he expected more from Sorun.

Crash fixes
Fixed a crash related to talking to one of the lizards at Frupis while under the effects of contagion.
Fixed a rare crash relating to hitting Tundra Lord as he jumps while certain talents are enabled.
Fixed a rare crash with Avatar of Thalamus heroic related to hitting him with the Scythe of Restless Spirits ultimate attack as he is floating creating the giant orb attack.
Fixed a crash related to doing a spellblade charge attack as you are falling.
Fixed a very rare crash with Amulvaro.
Fixed a very rare crash with Eldritch council.

Softlock:
If you somehow lose the ivory key, you can re-obtain it back in Journey's End.
If you somehow lose Warp Orb Generator, it will re-appear in your inventory.
You can no longer double jump out of the Fink Trap, this would cause the game to softlock.

Balance:
Tome lighting+dark orb buff now also generates soul energy over time.
Gouge Mastery talent now also causes the gauge cooldown to go down by 4 seconds per enemy attack dodged.
Seismic Nova Mastery now has a different effect, the buff it creates increases hammer damage by 15% and stacks up to 25%.
Dive kick now correctly deals damage to Frog Knights, Nightmarers, and a few other enemies.
Upgrading Valkyrie spear no longer causes you to lose the double jump buff from the weapon.
Serpent's Barrage will no longer consume 60 soul energy.
Can no longer use blinding effects to keep Avatar of Thalamus stun-locked forever.

Misc:
Amulvaro Heroic can no longer lower Will every time you defeat him, cannot play an Ash dialogue more than once.
Forgotten Gaian now correctly awards golden carrots if defeated without getting hit.
Labyrinth statues can no longer grab you while under effects of improve fortitude.
Chamber mine can no longer hit you while under effects of improve fortitude.
Defeating the bulwark in heroic as the homing lightnings are appearing now correctly makes all lightning stop.
Fixed a typo with Void Plume.
Attacks that blind no longer go through slime enemies. This includes hammer abilities.

We are aware of the bug that makes you get many Warp Bomb Generators, will be fixed in a hotfix in a few hours.
