After 5 years, today we are bringing support for Dead Realm to an end and the official servers will close on August 27th, 2020.

The game will remain open to download for free on Steam until that date so we encourage you to invite friends to grab a copy now so you’ll be able to host your own tension-filled games amongst yourselves.

We thank everyone in the community who gave us feedback, bought a copy, created content and invested hours playing to make it such a memorable success. It was an exhilarating experience to make the kind of multiplayer horror game we wanted to play and then have so many of you discover and enjoy it as well.

This is an incredibly bittersweet moment. We are so grateful for all the fun shared.

Hey Folks,

Below are fixes for Update V.2.205:

* Delirious character properly scaled
* Spirit character scaled by 10%
* Issue where some players where hiding behind objects that made them unable to be reaped.
* Some words in the language filter that were being filtered unnecessarily.
* Weapon icon not switching in certain cases.
* Collision in underground that was causing players to get stuck.
* An issue where the sounds wouldn’t play when another players shotgun fired or reloaded.
* Reap animation for some special characters.
* Grenade not properly applying damage in some cases.
* Issue where Steam sometimes doesn’t initialize properly when the game is started.
* Cleaned up the position of some UI in the Character select screen.

Dead Realm is officially leaving Early Access! Once again, we want to thank our community for helping us immensely through our production cycle. You have been there to help us identify and correct our mistakes, honing the core game concept, and helping us figure out what worked in our game and what didn't. Thank you.

If Early Access has taught or reinforced anything about the game industry, it is that the success of this - or any - game comes solely from the community.

We are so grateful to all of our devoted friends and players who have been with us throughout the cycle, especially in the last months as we have been adding more to the game so we could reach a today's milestone. For those of you who played with us, who sent us feedback, who posted in the forums, we cannot thank you enough. The game is immeasurably better thanks to those players who were here in Early Access with us.

To our dedicated and devoted community, we are very excited to announce that we will soon be leaving Early Access. Our team has been diligently working on a ton of updates, content, and improvements on the game. But before we get into telling you all about the upcoming changes and upgrades, we want to stop and thank all of our early adopters here. You guys were pioneers of the paranormal, opportunists of the occult, our denizens of the Dead Realm. So, to all of our fans who played, who joined in Happy Hours, and who shared valuable feedback, you have our deepest, most sincere gratitude.

As one last thanks to our early players, before the game leaves EA, we will be updating the game and letting you play the upgraded version of DEAD REALM. We will have an exclusive 3 week Beta testing starting tomorrow Tuesday - 4/25, and thus to help fine tune and perfect these changes. We'd appreciate our community's help in testing this new version before full launch.

While we want to save some surprises from the update for when you play it, here's a list of all the new features in the update. We hope you enjoy it and share all your feedback as usual.

NEW FEATURES:

~CHARACTERS

~MAPS

- New Map: DECAY

Decay is a massive, sprawling tri-level arena set in the Huxley Manor's famed greenhouse. Founded by Grandma Huxley, the Greenhouse was the jewel of the property, and a favorite of the town, who would come to visit to see the rare flora inside. For a generation it was the main source of prestige for the family, but when Harrison Huxley became head of the family, the fame turned to notoriety, as he closed it to the public and used it for his own twisted amusement.

The centerpiece and middle level of the map is a gigantic hedge maze. The shrub walls are 10 feet tall and filled with twists, turns, and secrets. Interconnected to this is also a balcony level overlooking the maze and root filled underground for players to hide, run, and fight through. It will work for most any game mode, with the size works well for the stealth and search modes like “Seek and Reap” or “Escape.” For those more adventurous players, sitting in the center of the map is a Treehouse, built for—but never used by—Baby William. In this lofty sanctuary, players can hide or hunt the other inhabitants in the match with them.

- New Map: UNDERGROUND

Underground is a dark and grimy map set in an industrial waste treatment facility owned by the Huxley family. It was a source of big revenue for the elder Huxley, but it was abandoned after a series of unrelated, ritualistic murders took place. Something about the site seemed to attract occult obsessed individuals. The first time was a freak incident, the second time, a horrifying coincidence. But when the third and fourth slaughters took place in a week, no wage could convince people to come work there. The remnants (and remains) from the last murder remain as none have entered the premises since the location was condemned.

Set deep below the ground, the air is recycled and the light artificial, and the only place to see the sky is at the top of a massive, winding well (a great place to hide, by the way). Filled with long corridors as well as claustrophobic chambers, the map is filled with multilevel vantages and rooms with varied entry points to heighten the tension in exploration Underground will be great for players who like tense action zones and atmospheric settings.

- Hunter now has animations for attack, crouch, and clinging to walls

- Hunter’s grenades disappear from hand after using last grenade
- Human’s radar device disappears after using last radar device
- Removed Aren and Wally characters
- "How to Play" tutorial videos
- Tips/Badges help
- Inputted Localization for all languages

Hey Folks,

The maintenance on US WEST has been completed. Below is a complete list of additional fixes we have made for version 2.165:

- US West Server Maintenance
- Sanction Lighting and textures
- Player name plates will now appear only in the proper game modes
- Once a player is killed the name of the player that killed them will appear
- Badge Icon will now appear properly on the post lobby screen
- Proper Error Messages now appear when a player can’t join a lobby
