Dear players,

Ever since starting with the Closed Alpha, and all the way through the Closed Beta and Open Beta, we’ve received a great amount of useful criticism and encouraging feedback from our players. This has been invaluable for all the teams involved in developing the game.

Over the past weeks and months we’ve been evaluating how to proceed with Dead Island: Epidemic and looking towards the future for the game. We’re sad to announce today that we’ve come to the conclusion to cease further development.

We will be leaving the servers open until the end of October 15th (Pacific Time), during which time we’ll run a very large discount on all characters and boosts to give everyone a chance to spend any remaining currency on characters and items you may have wanted to try before, but never did.

We want to thank everyone for their support, their feedback, and their time playing Dead Island: Epidemic! The game would not have been the same without you.

Hey survivors,

We've been reading your forum posts and are aware you are waiting for updates. Unfortunately there are some difficulties that need to be solved in the upcoming months so we apologize for the wait.

In the meantime we'll be running a few new events, first of which shall be named "Defeat the Mods Contest".

Our volunteer moderators who most of you already know will be playing Scavenger over the coming weeks at random times and random servers. Some of them will be even playing with a brand new character which should attract the interest of all the teams. And if you want to get your hands on Rico as well, keep reading.

Your goal here is to win the match against the moderators team using any means necessary ok not quite, can't be using any of unfair or unethical methods such as griefing or base camping and remember to keep the language nice and clean.

If you manage to play fair and win the match, you and your teammates will be rewarded with Rico, the brand new character for absolutely free.

Here is a list of some of the issues we’ve fixed for this update.


General

  • Fixed issues related to account experience not Saving correctly after Re-logging.
  • Reward screen – fixed calculation of gained experience on the reward screen related to already owned items
  • Rewards Screen - the icons' pop-up description windows are animated both when opening and closing.
  • Scavenger - Defence Turret's particles will be displayed correctly
  • Immortal Suicider – Damage taken has now been adjusted
  • Elite Puller will no longer be able to pull someone already pulled by a normal Puller
  • HUD - Premium icon is no longer displayed on HUD when no premium is active
  • Tutorial / Scout - Fixed graphical and collision issues related to environment textures
  • Additional adjustments made to the in game chat!
  • Friendly Touch heals minions
  • Sentinels max shield value should now be correctly capped

    Characters

  • Hailey – Frozen Shield Area Damage - Damage from Cryoseism is increased by Chill.
  • Hailey – Chill – changed Chill functionality, so the Amplify component will be applied on Hoarders and Uncontrollable enemies.
  • Sam B - Charge / minions can now receive shield from Brofist augmentation
  • Grim Retaliation tooltip adjusted
  • Armoured Amber - Medkit augmentation increases damage of minion.
  • The Fuse - Grenade Launcher - Smoking Hot reduces damage taken only within the skill’s area
  • The Fuse / Rocket Jump – Adjustments made to jump indicator.
  • Charlie – Crab cage skill does not react to camouflaged / invisible enemies
  • Septian / Snake Attack tooltip contains the information on duration of the skill
  • Roy – Camera Flash – Deals damage to barricades
  • Roy - Rollin' skill animates correctly after attacking
  • Mutated Bryce - Infected Sprout should now display a clear healthbar of infected sprout should be visible to all users
  • Mutated Bryce / Slithering Vein - Fixed animation of 'Slithering Vein' casted on non-movable targets.
  • Hermann / Dropping bombs - Plane Shield passive skill will no longer attack incapacitated enemies.
  • Herrmann / Parachute Away – Fixed animation issues related to characters affected by the skill
  • Hermann – can no longer throw a Zepellin at the beginning of a match.
  • Hermann will not execute an attack while selecting target for the Guardian Zeppelin.
  • Mr. White / Beatdown now ends as soon as a targeted Suicider dies
  • TL - Survivor Bryce / Concussion Shot - pierced enemies are incapacitated by Concussion Shot. + tooltip changes

  • Sinamoi audio event – “Scavengers are stealing from us” audio event triggers near the end of games
  • Sinamoi head picture obstructs with game event popups
  • Win Countdown - gets stuck when truck is filled and enemy steals right after
  • Reconnect - Possibility to trigger anti-hack system by reconnecting when the character is dead

    Crossroads
  • Health bars overlap mission tab
  • Deadly difficulty - stats cap / tier restriction
  • Freed civilians get stuck in one place after returning to base
  • Capture the Flag and Supply Facility missions have supply icons instead of clock icons
  • Bauer's portrait is displayed instead of Civilian's in Escort mission
  • Special infected stuck in the mission where you have to steal supplies from a truck
  • Civilians not disappearing after cocoon mission
  • Respawn point calculated using disconnected players
  • A player respawns near respawn point but not on it
    End time displays as 00:00

    Characters
  • General - Certain Ultimate skills' tooltips do not show reduced cooldown
  • General - Keyboard remains active in character list while inside equipment lists

  • Mutated Berg / Taunt - Taunt effect is not negated after inflicting 25%+ damage to walker and veteran zombie enemies
  • Armored Berg / Skull Clap - Uppercut's description can be confusing to the player
  • Survivor Isys / Tornado Leg - Immune caption is not displayed over zombies resisting cripple effect
  • Survivor Isys / Lightning Fury - Focus attribute does not increase damage from Sparkling Punt augmentation
  • Mutated Isys / Stinger - Stinger skill is able to negate immunity status on enemy characters
  • Armored Isys / Rocket Launcher - Interaction zones are flickering upon contact with flames from 'Firestorm' augmentation
  • Survivor Amber / Pheromones - Mutated Bryce’s Infected Sprout can be attacked but not dealt damage under Pheromones effect.
  • Survivor Amber / Nerve Cut - Focus does not increase life leech from Surgeon augmentation
  • Armored Amber / Command - The player is able to summon more than one minion
  • Armored Amber / Command - Skill's cooldown restarts counting when character dies while minion is alive
