Darksiders III - THQ Nordic


Vienna, Austria and Austin, Texas, November 19, 2019 – In a new gameplay trailer, developer Airship Syndicate and THQ Nordic present the so-called "Creature Core"-system which allows players to upgrade and customize their horseman's battle skills. Both fighters begin with a variety of different attacks but will gain access to more devastating and fascinating ways to smash demons on their journey through hell. "Creature Cores" can be picked up afters slaying enemies and bosses and are also available for purchase at Vulgrim's store in exchange for souls.

The "Creature Core"-system allows the player to shift the balance between the different playstyles of WAR and STRIFE. Would you like to increase your attack power or add a lava trail to your dashes? Would you like a chance to spawn a hellhound whenever you attack or do you want to increase the amount of health & ammunition your enemies will drop?

Tailor your characters abilities to match your personal playstyle with the "Creature Core"-system.

Darksiders Genesis features the debut of the fourth and final horsemen – STRIFE – who battles alongside his brother and fellow horsemen WAR in the first ever Darksiders two-player co-op mode. Solo players will be able to alternate between STRIFE and WAR on the fly, taking advantage of STRIFE’s ranged and WAR’s melee style attacks. Both characters can build up a special attack meter that, when activated, temporarily turns them into a colossal creature that leaves epic destruction in its wake.

Darksiders Genesis is currently in development for PC, Google Stadia and all current-gen console platforms. The PC and Google Stadia versions of Darksiders Genesis will release on December 5, 2019. The console versions will release on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2020.

The Keepers of the Void is now available!
- To access the Keepers of the Void you must visit Vulgrim after receiving the Flame Hollow. He will grant you access to the first wing of the dungeon. Other wings are unlocked as unlock more Hollows.

Keepers of the Void Features:
• New Weapons: Unlock an alternate weapon for each of the Hollows by defeating the 4 bosses found in the Void.
• Abyssal Armor: Defeat the final boss of the Void to unlock the Abyssal Armor.
• New Enhancements: a whip focused enhancement and cross blade focused enhancement are hidden somewhere in the void.
• Hollow Weapon Switch: Option to allow quick switching between a hollow’s two weapon forms has been added, it is off by default. It can be turned on in the options.

Non-DLC related features:
• Nightmare mode option: How good are you at the game? Care to put that to the test? Dying once will delete your save. Proceed with caution.
• Arcane Shards: Arcane shards can now be purchased from Vulgrim.
• Hollow themed armor: 4 new color variants of Fury’s base armor, each themed after a specific Hollow with a boost to the specific Hollow’s damage output. Available from Vulgrim after receiving related Hollow.
• Hollow Counter switch: After successfully executing a perfect dodge, activating a Hollow Form will trigger it’s Arcane Counter.

Bug Fixes:
• Shade: Shade’s Damage reduction was not working correctly, issue has been addressed and the number will appear lower than it previously was, but now works correctly.
• BFA: Fixed issue with BFA Achievement not unlocking correctly.

  • The Crucible will now award tokens again.
  • Fixed an issue, where the final boss would not correctly load for some players.

Changes
  • Difficulty can now be switched when starting Armageddon mode. This means the previous playthrough’s difficulty does not affect the Armageddon save’s difficulty. This allows for the collection of the “Death Incarnate”(Complete the game on Apocalyptic difficulty) in subsequent New Game + playthroughs even if the previous playthroughs were played at a difficulty lower than “Apocalyptic”.

Introducing Armageddon Mode
Armageddon is Darksiders 3 new game plus mode. There are 9 levels of Armageddon, completing one unlocks the next level. With each new level of Armageddon, the difficulty increases, new items will begin to drop, and new encounters begin to appear. Items and their upgrade levels carry over, however the weapons must be reacquired through natural . Weapon levels are maintained, but still locked behind acquiring them via in game events. All DLC progression will be reset upon starting a new Armageddon Mode, and must be unlocked again naturally in the new playthrough. All rewards and tokens will carry over into the new game.

Armageddon Mode Features:
    Armageddon mode goes up to +9: once that has been completed players will be able to continually play that level over and over again.Upgrade Armor: Oblivion Ore can now be found on specific enemies. Turning these Shards into Ulthane will allow any armor in the game to be upgraded.Wisdom Shards: These Shards can be found in Armageddon mode. Shattering these shards will temporarily boost the souls collected from defeated enemies.New Encounters: New encounters and a new enemy have been added to Armageddon Modes. New Achievements and Trophies: 3 new achievements have been added related to Armageddon ModeNew Lurcher Clusters: Unique items that were collected in a previous playthroughs are replaced with large lurcher crystals.

New General Features:
  • Reckoning Difficulty: Darksiders 3 Apocalyptic Difficulty too easy? A new difficulty has been added where Fury’s dodge windows are smaller, the enemies hit harder and can withstand more damage.
  • Arcane Shard: A new item that will temporarily boost Arcane Damage that will drop from enemies and can be purchased from Vulgrim.
  • Large Healing Shard: A Larger Healing shard has been added that will drop from enemies and can be purchased from Vulgrim.
  • Weapon Upgrades: Weapons can now be upgraded to +13
  • Spend 5 Attribute Points at a Time: If the points are available, players can invest 5 points at a time into a single Attribute.
  • Hide HUD: There is now an option for hiding the HUD.
  • Flip Y-Axis: Option added to flip Horizontal Camera Axis

Balance:
  • Enoch: Enoch’s Active Trait has been completely changed. Enoch will give bonus Damage when Fury is at Full Health. The values have been adjusted accordingly for this damage bonus.
  • Fortune: Raised the Lurchers received upon killing an enemy value across all levels. Increased Potency Increase for Consumables across all levels. Fixed bug with not all consumables working correctly with this enhancement.
  • Fafnir: Fafnir’s Active trait has been capped at 40% damage bonus.
  • Marauder: Fixed an issue with how Loot Drops were calculated, Enhancement should yield more loot drops. Note: Not all enemies can drop loot.
  • Level Cap raised to 300: Along with this, the rewards per level have been increased to keep up with Armageddon’s Increasing difficulty.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed issue with indestructible box in Bonelands.
  • Fixed various creature issues.
  • Fixed issue where Fury would take Damage from Gluttony’s Acid Pool even if she wasn’t in it.
  • Fixed issue where Respite upgrades were missing for some players.
  • Fixed issue with DLC Achievements incorrectly triggering BFA to unlock.

Horseman,

Only the strongest warriors throughout history gained access to the Crucible. To prove you are worthy, capture the first of the Deadly Sins once and for all. Do that and Vulgrim will show you the way. The more Sins you defeat, the further into the Crucible you may pass.

Once you have entered the Crucible, enemies will come at you in 25 waves. If you survive a set of five, you are given a choice: take your reward and leave or proceed and risk losing everything. Endure all one hundred waves in one go, and you will face the final challenge.

So to reiterate:
1. Defeating the first “real” Sin unlocks the Crucible and the first 25 waves
2. Second “real” Sin unlocks the next 25 waves
3. Third “real” Sin unlocks the next 25 waves
4. Fourth “real” Sin unlocks the last 25 waves
5. Defeat 5 waves without dying: you can either take your loot (rare crafting materials, new enchantments, new armor sets and a vast amount of souls) and run, or continue and risk losing everything
6. Defeating all 100 waves without dying, sets you up for the ultimate and final challenge of the Crucible

To access the branch we decided to put it in a staging branch first in order to make sure it doesnt break anything critical. The least we want is that people lose their progress or similar and there is always different behaviour out for users than in our testing environment.

We have the first patch ready for you.
Here is the complete list of fixes:

Improvements:
  • Multiple improvements to help performance and loading. Performance improvements should also significantly reduce stuttering in high-density areas.
  • Updated Story mode to be more forgiving.
  • Adjusted invulnerability windows across all difficulties. The windows are consistent on Balanced, Challenging and Apocalyptic and even more significant on easy.
  • Modified hit indicators for better readability.
  • Added version number on the main menu.


Fixes:
  • Added FOV scaling to keep correct FOV on 21:9 monitors.
  • Fixed various crash issues.
  • Added Force Respawn functionality. This option is available in the game options menu. It will kill Fury and return her to the last Vulgrim Waypoint that you visited. This option is a last resort to be used if you think you are stuck in an area for whatever reason.
  • Added functionality on Force respawn that will force the hollows to re-equip to Fury. This is for the issue where Fury’s hollow abilities appear to have stopped working.
  • Fix for issue where Force blocks were getting stuck in Scar. If you have encountered this issue, it should destroy the stuck block, and if you come back to the area, it will reload the block in the correct starting area.
  • Fix for issue where certain stacked breakables wouldn’t break in Bonelands.
  • Fix for issue that would break Gluttony fight. Fix should also fix saves that had this issue.
  • Fixed multiple issues where players can get Fury into unintended locations or unintended locations without expected Hollows (in some cases Force Respawn may need to be used).
  • Reduced Fafnir enhancement’s damage output.
