Studio MDHR has announced another delay for Cuphead's long-in-the-works Delicious Last Course DLC, this time into 2021, citing challenges "amid the global pandemic".

The Delicious Last Course - which sees Cuphead and Mugman joining forces with Ms. Chalice on a brand-new island for more classic-cartoon-inspired adventuring - was initially announced in June 2018, with a projected release of the following year.

However, as July 2019 rolled around, Studio MDHR revealed it had made the decision to push The Delicious Last Course's launch into 2020 so the DLC would meet "the meticulous level of care and quality we always strive for" and to ensure the developer could continue to "make things in a way that's healthy and sustainable for our team".

You can now play Cuphead in a Tesla.

Perhaps I should rephrase that: you can now play Cuphead on a Tesla.

Studio MDHR's rock hard run-and-gun action game has a Tesla Edition, and it's now available in the Tesla Arcade (of course there's a Tesla Arcade).

Cuphead, the video game designed to look like a cartoon, is now getting a cartoon series based on it.

Netflix has picked up the rights to produce a Cuphead animated series with the look of the game's 1930s classic Fleischer cartoons remaining intact.

It's being helmed by the Emmy and Annie award-winning Dave Wasson, who has worked as director on Disney's Mickey Mouse Shorts series which similarly evokes the style of early animation.

In an effort to prioritise the health of its employees, Studio MDHR has announced the Cuphead DLC: The Delicious Last Course will be delayed until 2020.

While the new expansion was originally slated for release this year, in a recent tweet the studio explained they're taking the time to make sure the content "meets the meticulous level of care and quality" they always strive for.

"This wasn't an easy decision to make, but we're confident it's one that will result in a higher quality experience that's all the sweeter when it does arrive," said studio co-director Chad Mordenhauer in a post about the DLC.

It's been a few weeks since the Xbox E3 briefing, which has just about given us enough time to calm down from the excitement of Keanu Reeves appearing onstage. The other big news from that conference, of course, surrounded Project Scarlett - Xbox's mysterious next-generation console, which we now know is arriving in Holiday 2020 with Halo Infinite. And we finally got to hear some official specs - although many of the details remain hazy.

Well, we heard a bit about that triple-A title during the briefing, but what about the indies? What does Project Scarlett mean for them?

Inside the bustling Microsoft Theatre during E3 week, I sat down with ID@Xbox senior director Chris Charla to discuss Project Scarlett (as much as we could), along with more general topics such as the impact of subscription services and consolidation on independent developers, and Charla's thoughts on the wider game curation debate.

Although I don't know from personal experience, I imagine Teslas must have pretty fancy cupholders. Now they'll also have Cuphead, as Elon Musk has taken a break from drilling tunnels under LA to announce the game will be playable in several Tesla models.

During episode 200 of the weekly Tesla podcast "Ride the Lightning", Musk said Cuphead is on its way to Tesla's Model 3, Model S and Model X versions (via IGN). Apparently the developers have already got the game up and running on a Tesla - albeit only Inkwell Isle One - and Musk described it as "sadistically difficult".

"It's a cool game. It's insanely difficult. It's a twisted plot. It's dark. It looks like some cute little Disney thing and you're like, 'this plot is very dark'," Musk said on the podcast. If driving a Tesla didn't already give you road rage, Cuphead surely will.

It's been nearly a year since Cuphead's release, and in that time lots of people have found the game to be just their cup of tea. Three million people, in fact.

In a blog post, developer Studio MDHR announced it has shifted an incredible three million copies in the 10 months since Cuphead's launch. To celebrate this achievement, the game is on sale on Xbox and Steam - so if you haven't yet put yourself through the pain of a Cuphead boss battle, you can now do it at a discount.

The run and gun game, which was praised for its unique hand-painted 1930s style animations, originally sold over 1m units in its first two weeks - so this latest update is perhaps unsurprising. This also isn't the last we'll see of the game, as a new DLC for Cuphead called The Delicious Last Course is due to be released in 2019 - although the exact date is yet to be confirmed. The DLC will introduce a brand new playable character called Ms. Chalice, who looks like the sassiest cup I ever did see.

It's Indie Mega Week at the Humble Store right now, which - as you may have gleaned from the name - is a big celebration of some of the best indie games around, with the range seeing discounts of up to 90 per cent for the time being.

There are pages of stuff on offer in the Indie Mega Week sale range, ranging from smaller and more obscure titles to some of the biggest indie games released in recent years, and some soundtracks and DLC packs are even thrown in for good measure.

Some of the most notable games on offer include 11-bit Studios' recent suffer-sim Frostpunk, which is down to 21.24 / $25.49, current Twitch favourite House Flipper for 13.16 / $16.99, the unrelentingly addictive Dead Cells for 17.59 / $19.99, and the closet thing we'll get to a Left 4 Dead 3 anytime soon, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 for 15.40 / $20.09.

More Cuphead is coming next year, and developer Studio MDHR has offered a brief tease in the form of a new trailer.

Next year's DLC is called The Delicious Last Course and sees Cuphead and Mugman joining forces with Ms. Chalice for more classic-cartoon-inspired adventuring on a brand-new island. You can get a taste below.

Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course will bring new weapons, new bosses (working at the behest of Chef Saltbaker), new charms, and a bunch of new abilities courtesy of Ms. Chalice when it launches on Xbox One and PC in 2019.
