An update has been released today with a collection of new features, improvements and fixes. Thanks again for sharing your feedback, and we hope you enjoy these latest additions to the game.


TABLES

  • Increased table sizes for pool and snooker. 6 to 12 ft tables are slightly larger, with 5ft pool table and 7ft snooker table introduced as small size options.

  • Improved rendering of 3D tables with reduced clipping errors.

A.I.

  • Improved AI potting ability into middle pockets on pool and snooker tables.

  • Fixed issue where an AI player would sometimes freeze on the opening break shot in snooker.

MENUS

  • When 'Random' difficulty is selected in Quick Match, the skill level of your opponent is now revealed at the end of the match. Click on the 'Difficulty Level' button at the bottom of the menu.

  • Improved wording on break foul in 14.1 straight pool. Message now informs player if cue ball was not sent to rail, or 2 object balls were not sent to rail.

  • Fixed issue where 'F1' key (help) and 'I' key (match information) could be used during replays, leading to errors.

  • Fixed issue where 'I' key could display errors when used in practice mode.

8 BALL + STRAIGHT POOL
(BALL-IN-HAND BEHIND HEADSTRING)


  • Added text to 'Game Rules > General Rules' in 8 ball and straight pool, to cover fouls when player has ball-in-hand behind head string, and player is required to send cue ball over the line before contacting another ball.

  • Added information box to show colour coding of aim lines for legal / illegal balls and warnings when playing behind the head string with ball-in-hand. See 'Options > Aiming > Colour Settings'.

  • Aim line colour customisation and brightness settings have now been moved to the above menu.

  • Added direction arrows on table as a hint, when player has ball-in-hand behind head string and cue ball is required to cross the line before hitting an object ball.

SPEED POOL

  • Increased time limit from 5 minutes to 15 minutes. Also increased leaderboard entry threshold limit to 15 minutes. See 'Options > Achievements > Speed Pool Times'.

  • Fixed issue where snooker cue was sometimes used to play speed pool, instead of pool cue.

  • Fixed issue where leaderboard qualification was not always correctly set at in-game menu at 'Options > Match Settings > Speed Pool'.

EURO 8 BALL

  • Added graphic indicator to show when '2 shots' are awarded following a foul. A cue ball icon now appears in the notification capsule as a reminder.

CONTROLS

  • Fixed issue where 'A', 'D' and left / right cursor keys could not be used to rotate camera when zoomed out from table using middle mouse button click, and in-game menu was minimised.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Various improvements to localised game text.

  • Other minor fixes and enhancements.

We're pleased to release another update today with more game enhancements. Patch notes have been added below.


CUEING

  • Cue tip positioned closer to cue ball when setting power.

  • Increased cue backstroke range when using automatic and manual cueing methods.

  • Added option to toggle acceleration when cueing with manual method. See 'Options > Controls > Advanced Settings > Gameplay > Power Adjustment (Acceleration)'. Default setting is 'On'.

  • Recalibrated manual cueing speed, with default setting now at '50%'. See 'Options > Controls > Advanced Settings > Gameplay > Power Adjustment (Speed)'.

AIMING

  • Added smaller 'Dot' option for aiming target at 'Options > Aiming > 2D / 3D View > Target' to replace 'Blurred' settings.

  • Renamed 'Focussed' target option to 'Circle'.

MENUS

  • Added entry for Euro 8 Ball at 'Games Rules > General Rules'.

  • Graphical tweaks to opponent screens.

A.I.

  • AI opponents in 3 and 4 player Killer Pool now all set at similar skill level according to difficulty setting in Quick Match.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Fixed issue where Bar Challenge opponents would sometimes not unlock and save correctly after winning a match. Fix also applies to tournament trophy unlocks and saves.

  • Fixed issues where some game controls were enabled when in-game menu was active, or when zoomed out to walk around table.

  • Various improvements to localised game text.

  • Other minor fixes and improvements.

Hi everyone,

Today we have launched a large update to Cue Club 2 containing an array of new features, improvements and fixes. Please see below for a full breakdown of the latest content. As always, thank you for providing feedback to help us further refine the game.


AIMING

  • Added option to turn off the aiming target in 3D mode. This new feature removes the round cursor, secondary and tertiary aim lines, and allows simple rotation around the cue ball when lining up shots. There is also an option to disable the primary aim line, so all visible guides can be removed.

    Go to 'Options > Aiming > 3D View > Target' and select the 'Hidden' option (last in list). Target can be enabled in-game by pressing 'X' key, clicking middle mouse button, or pressing 'Y' + Left Bumper button on a gamepad. Target can be used to select a point to zoom out from and look around table (press middle mouse button again, or gamepad LB button). In Fast Aiming mode the target can also be used to nominate balls and pockets, and move balls in practice mode.

    An 'X' icon in the top left corner of the screen indicates when the target is activated. The icon changes to a round target when zoom out is selected. Press 'X' key or 'Y + LB' on gamepad to de-activate target, or use mouse combination right + left button (or left + right button with Fast Aiming enabled). Note: shots cannot be played with the target on.

  • In 3D mode, arrow pointer no longer jumps to target position after setting aim, which helps keep pointer away from line of sight.

  • Cue now tracks target position faster and more smoothly.

MENUS

  • Notification capsule now shown when in-game menu is minimised. This can help to remind players which ball group has been assigned after a foul screen is presented.

  • Added selected game type to headline text in Quick Match, Bar Challenge and 2-4 player setup menus.

  • Added 'Load Tournament' and 'Delete Tournament' shortcut links to 'Load Game' and 'Delete Game' menus.

  • Added 'Info' button to Quick Match menu to show details about opponent with large character image.

  • Added 'Play' button to Quick Match, Bar Challenge and Tournament opponent information screens.

  • Greyed out 'Opponent' and 'Difficulty' settings in Quick Match when virtual players are not selected.

  • Opponent info screens now show player accuracy for the difficulty level selected.

  • Added new sub-menus to 'Controls > Advanced Settings' including 'Gameplay', 'Mouse & Keyboard' and 'Game Controller'.

  • Improved leaderboard design for snooker breaks, speed pool times and straight pool runs.

  • Improved layout of controls menu showing mouse, keyboard and gamepad mappings.

  • Improved menu design to better support ultrawide (21:9) and super ultrawide (32:9) monitors.

  • Fixed issue where unlocking a new trophy mid-game could create graphical errors and make the game unresponsive.

  • Fixed issue where text cursor would not always align correctly with typed text, when using in-game keyboard.

  • Fixed issue where a live chat message would not always send after pressing 'Enter' key.

  • Fixed gamepad navigation errors in leaderboards and table selection.

  • Fixed gamepad navigation errors when loading a previously saved tournament and accessing fixtures screen.

  • Fixed error in 'Match Information' menu where potted balls display would show cue ball if it had just been potted.

  • Fixed errors that sometimes occurred when trying to use difficultly adjustment buttons after starting a new tournament.

  • Fixed landing position of arrow in match difficulty settings menu, when using an ultra-wide or narrow aspect monitor.

GRAPHICS

  • Fixed issue where fine white lines could sometimes appear around screen edges when anti-aliasing was enabled in settings.

  • Fixed issue where changing aim line design from dots to arrows in-game could cause rendering issues.

  • Fixed issue where cue power text would accidentally be shown when using 'C' key with manual cue control setting.

  • Fixed issue where score box would sometimes remain highlighted after opening menu with 'Esc' key.

  • Fixed issue where cue ball would occasionally float over table after loading a saved game, if opponent had ball-in-hand.

  • Reduced instances where cue could sometimes intersect the screen in first-person camera mode.

  • 'Robo-pot' AI character now drawn with correct colouring, when white dress code is selected in tournament match settings.

  • 10ft pool table is now illuminated with 5 overhead lights instead of 3.

  • Screen size is now restored correctly after playing a saved shot or replay, where a different screen size was used.

CAMERAS

  • Added 60 and 65 degree field of view options. Reduces amount of image stretching at edges of screen and ideal for use with ultrawide monitors. See 'Options > Cameras > Field of View (3D)'.

  • 3D first-person camera now remains steady when chalking, and also when accessing in-game menu.

  • Improved vertical camera tracking speed when zoomed out from table using first-person camera.

  • Increased speed of rotation when using gamepad right stick to rotate view around cue ball in 3D mode.

  • Reset camera angle feature has been remapped from 'X' key to 'R' key.

MULTIPLAYER

  • Added option to select max cue elevation in multiplayer games. Reducing this value can help prevent players from using extreme swerve shots, which may be desirable for some games, particularly snooker.

    To set this parameter go to the MP lobby and click the 'next page' arrow button on the options box until you see 'Cue Height Limit'. Settings are 80, 60, 40 and 20 degrees, and the default value is 80. This is also shown in lobby invitations.

  • Aim line settings in multiplayer invites are now the maximum lengths allowed for lines 1, 2 and 3, and not actual settings. This means players may use shorter lines if they prefer, as set in the main aiming menu.

  • Improved layout of 'Inbox' and 'Sent' invitations text, and match details are now easier to read.

  • Fixed issue where online status light would flash red for a moment when entering lobby, when a connection is established.

CHALKING

  • Added manual chalking option to multiplayer. See 'Options > Tables & Equipment > Chalk > Global Settings'. There are now separate chalk application settings for offline and online games. Default setting for online play is 'Automatic'.

  • Increased speed of chalking when set to 'Manual' mode, with cue returning to table a little faster.

CONTROLS

  • Arrow pointer now returns to centre screen after pressing 'Play' button to shoot, when using a gamepad with large control panel setting.

  • Pressing 'Y' + Right Trigger on a gamepad now opens the shot-setup box, when using large control panel setting. You can also press and hold down 'Y' button to open the box.

  • Fixed issues where gamepad would not always navigate accurately to shot setup graphics for cue height, spin and power.

  • Touchscreen input now allows player to look around table during shot setup by using left/right and up/down dragging motion, after pressing '3' key to zoom out.

  • Added options to change gamepad thumbstick and trigger sensitivity. See 'Options > Controls > Advanced Settings > Game Controller'.

  • Added 'F1' key shortcut to open in-game help, showing keyboard, mouse and gamepad controls. Press key again to close menu.

  • Remaining function keys are now mapped to 0-9 keys.

  • Added 'I' key shortcut to open 'Match Information' screen. Press key again to close menu.

  • Added 'M' key shortcut to minimise / maximise in-game menu.

  • Left and right cursor keys (and 'A', 'D' keys) can now be used to quickly change page on menus, where page buttons are displayed. Game controller right stick also performs the same action.

  • QWERTY, QWERTZ and AZERTY keyboards are now auto-detected after clicking 'Reset' button in 'Options > Controls > Advanced Settings > Mouse & Keyboard > Keyboard Layout'.

A.I.

  • Re-tuned AI skills so they are now slightly better at playing their favourite games. Click 'Info' button to view AI profiles in Tournament, Bar Challenge and Quick Match modes, where this information is shown.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Fixed issue where game would crash on some laptops after closing the laptop lid.

  • Various improvements to localised game text.

  • Other minor fixes and enhancements.

AIMING

  • Primary aim line can now be drawn with either arrows or dots. 3 sizes are now available: small, medium and large. See 'Options > Aiming > 2D / 3D View > Primary Line (Design)'.

A.I.

  • Added option to choose random difficultly for AI players in 'Quick Match' mode. Press left hand button and the option appears before 'Novice' level. The current difficulty setting can be seen in-game at 'Options > Match Settings > Difficulty Level'.

  • Tweaked AI skills to allow better players to take on more difficult shots.

  • AI players slightly better at planning shots to avoid potting the cue ball.

MULTIPLAYER

  • Switched positions of 'Inbox' and 'Sent' tabs for improved layout.

  • Fixed issue where it was sometimes not possible to invite a player for a game after deleting a previous offer.

  • Fixed graphical glitch in multiplayer lobby (bottom left corner) when smoke effect was turned off in menus.

SNOOKER

  • Fixed issue where game incorrectly ended if last remaining red was potted and then player nominated black, but made a foul shot.

14.1 STRAIGHT POOL

  • Fixed issue where 'Safety' button would appear after a re-rack following a break foul, when ball and pocket nomination was disabled in rule variations.

MENUS

  • Added qualification info to online leaderboard for 14.1 straight pool runs, after clicking 'Qualification' button.

  • Improved qualification text for straight pool rule variations, and aim line settings.

  • Other minor fixes and enhancements.

Today's update features a collection of improvements to many areas of the game, including new rule variations for straight pool to enable higher runs. See below for a full breakdown.


14.1 STRAIGHT POOL

  • Added rule variations to turn off ball/pocket nomination, and also allow a free shot after a re-rack when 14/15 balls have been potted. High runs made with non-standard rules will qualify for 'Player 1' and 'All Players' leaderboards. Standard rules are required for 'Online' leaderboard entries. Rule variations apply to both offline and online multiplayer matches.

MENUS

  • Improved visibility of 'Play' buttons in main menu, when starting a new game. Also added option to select button design with contrasting colour. See 'Options > Display > Menus > Play Button'.

  • Fixed issue where list of potted balls in 'Match Information' screen would sometimes be mis-aligned after loading a saved game.

  • Tweaks to tournament and multiplayer lobby screens.

CONTROLS

  • Adjusted gamepad right stick sensitivity to help prevent accidental left/right camera rotation when trying to adjust camera height using up/down motion.

USER INTERFACE

  • Fixed issue where in-game notice capsule would sometimes show wrong notifications during a multiplayer match.

CAMERAS

  • Fixed issue where first person camera sometimes could not be rotated left/right when zoomed out to look around table, with fast aiming mode enabled.

  • Fixed issue where TV camera would rotate at wrong speed during slow motion replay, when using arrow keys or gamepad right stick to make adjustments.

SAVED GAMES AND REPLAYS

  • Fixed issue where 'Restore' button would not work correctly after loading a practice game that was saved when a game had ended.

  • Fixed issue where leaderboard snooker breaks and straight pool runs sometimes would not play correctly if recorded from a recovered game after using ALT+F4.

  • Fixed issue where saving an offline game when invited to play a multiplayer match would cause errors when resuming the offline game, if a 'practice save' was attempted during the multiplayer match.

FILE AND MEMORY MANAGEMENT

  • Improved auto-removal of unused and temporary save files.

  • Reduced and optimised memory use in game.

Hi everyone,

We're pleased to bring another new update to the game with further tweaks to saving and file management, plus a handful of improvements and fixes to graphics and menus.


FILE MANAGEMENT

  • Added new file cleanup option. See 'File Management > File Cleanup'. Removes temporary and unused game files. We recommend running this once, and then occasionally to keep file storage optimised.

  • Temporary files now automatically removed after deleting old games and tournaments.

GRAPHICS

  • Fixed graphical issue where an object ball's shadow could sometimes intersect a potted ball in 3D mode.

  • Shot power, cue elevation and nominated ball/pocket text now uses same format as chosen in menus at 'Options > Display > Text'. Can be small or large size, normal thickness or bold.

  • Improved alpha fading on above text.

MENUS

  • Improved Membership Card designs.

  • Fixed issue where practice save was not selectable from in-game menu after using 7/F7 key to restore ball positions.

  • 'Back' buttons in menus are now always displayed on the left.

  • Various improvements to localised game text.

  • Other minor fixes and enhancements.

Today's update brings a selection of new features, improvements and fixes to Cue Club 2. Please see below for a full breakdown.


BALL SETS

  • Added new option for 'Spots and Stripes' ball set without black outlines. Sets renamed to 'Classic' and 'Classic+'.

  • Added new Euro 8 Ball 'Green and Blue' ball set.

14.1 STRAIGHT POOL

  • Expanded match length options to include Race to 200, 300, 500, 1000 and 1500. Allows longer runs to be made and recorded on the leaderboards. Available in Quick Match and 2 Player offline.

  • Fixed issue where getting a large negative score less than -99 could cause a crash.

US 8 BALL, 10 BALL, 14.1 POOL

  • Pockets can now be nominated before ball, if preferred.

  • Fixed issue where AI player would occasionally nominate wrong ball, when call shots are enabled.

EURO 8 BALL

  • Potting last remaining ball/s of your group with the black is now a win, in line with WPA / Blackball rules. To be legal, a ball from your group must be hit first.

  • Changed '8-ball' text to 'black ball' in list of rule variations.

  • Fixed issue where wrong ball textures were used after a re-rack if black ball was potted on break.

SNOOKER

  • Correct rules now applied where free ball is awarded and player attempts to play a snooker on the free ball.

  • Fixed issue where 'Points on Table' value in capsule was sometimes incorrect after a free ball was awarded.

  • Fixed issue where 6-colour capsule icon would sometimes flash on-screen.

SAVING

  • Fixed issue where saving a game would sometimes reset scores to zero after reloading.

LEADERBOARDS

  • Multiplayer human opponents now can appear in leaderboard titled 'All Players' for snooker breaks and 14.1 pool runs.

  • Fixed issue where leaderboard replays could sometimes show shots from another match. Now corrected for new record entries generated after update.

GAMEPLAY

  • Nominated ball image shown in capsule made slightly bigger.

  • Start screen no longer shown after a break foul and re-rack in US 8 Ball.

  • Fixed issue where notification capsule text would sometimes not update properly in multiplayer.

  • Fixed issue where primary aim line could sometimes become unstable if a swerve shot is attempted with cue ball near to cushion.

  • Fixed issue in 3/4 player Killer pool where cue image in 'Change Cue' menu was sometimes incorrect.

We're pleased to announce the release of 14.1 Straight Pool in today's update, along with several new achievements, plus a collection of various improvements and fixes. Thanks again for your support and we hope you enjoy these latest additions to the game.


GAME MODES

  • Added 14.1 Straight Pool rules. Can be played against AI or another human player. Supports Quick Match, 2 Player, Tournament, Bar Challenge and Online Multiplayer. New 14.1 tournament trophies for all five difficulty levels, with bronze, silver and gold trophies for making runs of 25, 50 and 100.

    Trophies also unlock new Steam achievements (eight in total). Three leaderboards are added for highest runs (Player 1, All Players and Online). Includes overall statistics screen. New 14.1 Global Leaderboard added to Steam.

GRAPHICS

  • Framing on pool tables now slightly thicker for improved realism. Pockets are deeper too.

  • Improved 'Spots and Stripes' and 'Vintage' ball sets.

  • Improved theatre venue ambient lighting.

GAMEPLAY

  • Improved cue power and cue elevation indicator display when using large control panel.

  • Improved accuracy of pocket nomination capture zone in 3D mode.

  • Fixed issue where in-game chat text could freeze after entering replay menu.

  • Fixed issue where cue butt could shoot up when cue ball is located near to cushion.

  • Fixed issue in Speed Pool where last ball would not always drop fully into pocket before the 'Table Cleared' screen appears.

  • Fixed issue where practice save could sometimes reload with ball suspended in a pocket opening.

A.I.

  • Improved AI player aiming on fine cuts into middle pockets.

MENUS

  • Renamed 'Trophy Collection' menu to 'Trophy Table' and moved link to top of list. See 'Achievements > Trophies'. Table has been expanded to accomodate 14.1 achievements, with 70 trophies in total.

  • Added button to access menu on Speed Pool 'Table Cleared' page, to offer replay and save option on the last shot.

  • Fixed issue where 'Resume Previous Game' option would sometimes cause errors, if used after an unexpected exit or pressing ALT+F4.

  • Fixed issue where player could delete name from the profile screen.

  • Fixed issue in controls menu where L-R mouse buttons did not map correctly when buttons were swapped in Windows for left-handed use.

  • Fixed issue where save slot #7 failed to work when accessed from tournament fixtures menu.

Hi everyone,

In this latest update we have included some new content to rule variations, improvements to multiplayer, plus a range of further tweaks and fixes. Full release notes are listed below.


RULE VARIATIONS

  • Added new rule variation to 6, 7, 9 and 10 ball pool, to place either the 1-ball or the money ball on the spot when racking balls. Default setting is 1-ball.

  • Added new rule variation to 6, 7, 9 and 10 ball pool, to make player break from inside the box (a small rectangle behind the headstring). Default setting is off. Both rules apply to offline and online multiplayer games. See 'Game Rules > Rule Variations'.

MULTIPLAYER

  • Improved online multiplayer response time for opponent's shots, with less setup time and faster aiming.

GAMEPLAY

  • Fixed issue that prevented some older saved shots from loading.

  • Fixed issue that sometimes displayed a 'Game Stopped' message when loading a saved shot replay from a multiplayer game.

  • Fixed issue where static or mobile replay cameras would not fully reset position after pressing 'Reset' button in replay menu.

  • Fixed issue where break scoring was shown when playing snooker in detonator mode (bonus game).

A.I.

  • Fixed issue where AI players would sometimes aim badly on a break shot when playing pool on a table with 'Right-to-Left' orientation in global settings.

REPLAYS

  • Fixed audio frequency issue after using ALT+TAB during slow motion replay.

  • Fixed issue in replays where cue design was sometimes different to cue used in original shot when using 3D camera view.

CONTROLS

  • Using gamepad right stick to move camera after playing a shot now influences target auto-positioning for the next shot.

  • Fixed issue where pressing 'z' key to lock target in fast aiming mode would have a delayed effect if used when balls are rolling or referee is active. Also, camera zooming in 3D mode is now disabled when target is locked.

  • Fixed issue in fast aiming mode where target would sometimes become locked at start of a new game.

MENUS

  • 'Save and Exit' option now enabled for practice games at all times.

  • Practice saves in tournament mode now work correctly. See 'Game > Save as Practice Game'.

  • Added 'Look around table' text description to controls menu, mapped to middle mouse button and gamepad left shoulder button.

Today's update features a collection of new content, improvements and fixes to Cue Club 2. Thank you for your continued support and feedback, and we hope you enjoy the latest changes.


CONTROLS

  • Added new feature to lock target in fast aiming mode and access control panel. This prevents having to slide the target off table to make changes via the control panel, such as power adjustment, spin or chalking cue. Press 'Z' key to activate, and once again to return to table and unlock target. On keyboards with a 'QWERTZ' layout the mapped key is 'Y', and on 'AZERTY' keyboards the key is 'W'. To turn on fast aiming go to 'Options > Controls > Basic Settings > Fast Aiming'.

  • Fixed issue where shot information remained on-screen after cancelling shot when using fast aiming control method.

  • Fixed issue where control passed to player 1 at end of a game, when there are 2 players using a gamepad each. In this situation control stays with the last player to take a shot, until the next game starts.

  • Fixed issue where player 2 with gamepad could not cancel a replay.

  • Fixed issue where pointer arrow would jump when switching from gamepad to mouse control.

  • Fixed issue where pressing ESC key would sometimes not cancel a replay.

MENUS

  • Added new mouse pointer option (design 4). See 'Options > Display > Pointer > Pointer Style'. Also expanded colour options for pointing arrow.

  • Added 'Reset' button to static and mobile replay camera menus, to restore parameters to default settings.

  • Controls screen improved with larger text and icons. See 'Options > Controls > Mouse & Keyboard / Game Controller'.

  • Fixed issue where 'Restore Balls' button on instant replay menu would show incorrect text when using fast aiming control method.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Fixed issue where some older saved shots or games would not load correctly.

  • Various improvements to localised game text.
