Cloud Meadow - JudgeHeath

Our intrepid frontiersman finds themselves with a threat delivered by the mysterious forces that had tried to orchestrate their kidnapping at the hands of Captain Kiram! Now you must descend into the first part of the Megalon Forest: The mysterious Dark Woods, where ancient ruins and twisted branches obscure the light of the sun and wolves and pirates stalk the hunting grounds of the nefarious mercenary: Rook.

To start this quest you'll first need to fully complete the series of quests related to Katarina Station, and then upgrade it to its full size, with fresh engines that expand the range of the island to multiple areas. Shortly after, you should receive a threatening letter from Rook in your sleep! Once you've had home invaded, you'll need to speak with Captain Joaqim! You can find him at the new station helm by heading upstairs in the Lodgehouse!

Next, head down to the elevator, and select the Forest Floor option to travel to the Dark Woods!

You'll find that things are pretty tense at the camp now, and you'll need to navigate the Dark Woods to find your way to wherever Rook's Lair is. Keep an eye out for new characters and vistas to interact with and explore!

Finally you'll find yourself facing the masked huntsman, and discover just how threatening a foe he can be!

In addition to this, you'll find new interactions on Katarina Station, a fresh and expanded design for the Barn, and a few polished areas that we managed to scoop up in passing!

Hey everyone! Judge Heath here with this large update of changes and fixes, a lot of you playing the beta builds will have experienced these already, but this will be the last update before the Dark Woods Update!

The full release of that will be near the end of June, as this is such a big update with a lot of new methods and tools we used to make it over the last year or so, we really want to make sure that it’s all hooked together and stable. It WILL be accessible earlier on the beta branch (Just not right this second)! So those of you who wish to help us break it in and find all the errors we’ve missed? You can find the instructions on how to activate the beta branch in our discussion boards if you do a little digging!

Hey everyone! In anticipation of the next big update we have planned, we have decided to host a contest for our community!

Like the previous ones, this will require you to be a member of our Discord Server found here: https://www.discord.gg/cloudmeadow Once you have joined, you will have access to the SFW and NSFW fanworks channels!

The Theme for this Contest is Summer Fun! Art should be of characters or monsters from Cloud Meadow engaging in fun later spring/early summer fun time activities! Getting ready for or going on vacation, that sort of thing!

You’ll have 3 weeks to create, and submit your 2d, 3d, still or animated art piece to the Contest Submissions channel, and from there we’ll select a series of finalists for all of our fans to vote on!

The top three winners will get a full character illustration of their choice (OC, fan work, or cloud meadow related, whatever you want!) done by Spurple! Note: This is not be the inclusion as a character in the game as a character.

The Rules for Submissions Are:

  • All Art must be made originally for this contest, submissions of older pieces will not be accepted.

Judge Heath here to let you guys know about the massive Dark Woods Update we’ve been working on!

It’s all been fairly hush hush, with work being applied more publicly to back end areas and the Katarina Station and Savannah cleanups, but this entire time we’ve also been working away at the second area of the game! The Megalon Forest! This massive set of trees grown from a single enormous flying trunk makes up a unique ecosystem that has long evaded exploration except by the more dastardly sorts! The Union is bringing in Ev to explore it’s depths, to establish contact with the locals and figure out what is going on with the pirates in this part of the skies! Of course, Ev has more personal reasons as well for investigating, as his activities against the poachers have not gone unnoticed, and the mysterious backer of the pirates has loosed another of his underlings to stop our intrepid hero(ine)!



What’s Next?
In the next 4-7 weeks, we hope to release the Dark Woods Update, involving the nefarious hunter Rook, one of Vaskin’s lackeys, as well as the newest area and a series of quests related to the new biom. This will be the first part of 3 or 4 major updates, the first three including entirely new floors, each of which is about the same size as Savannah Floor 8 or a little larger.


An Improved Station
Katarina Station is seeing a facelift, once you have completed the preparations and quests in the Savannah, the station will have the materials, machines, and support to become mobile! Opening up an entirely new area! Even before that, we are opening up the Lodging House of Katarina Station, with a rotating schedule of npcs, with sex scenes and dialogues, complete with some new quests to add them in once you reach the new Megalon Forest Biome!



The Dark Wood
Following the failed kidnapping of Ev and Captain Kiram’s betrayal to join the Frontiersman and town of Cloverton, Vaskin takes the next logical step, putting a hit out on you with his personal hunter, the honorable and nefarious deadeye hunter Rook!



This potent hunter has turned the Dark Woods area of the Megalon Forest into a trap filled hell, forcing Union exploratory forces back to a single area, but Ev has been given special permission to proceed, for Rook has decided it would be far more interesting to DUEL the skilled young Frontiersman than to simply snipe him like a fish flushed from the clouds.



Exploring the Dark Woods is no joke however, pirates loot a fallen ship, and wolves occupy much of the branches after the strange black goop has corrupted their local den! You will have to find your way past all of these challenges in order to finally face Rook and further unravel the strange conspiracy of monster-poaching and piracy that seems to surround current events! Should you succeed, Ev shall be rewarded with a brand new ancient cell with shocking new powers!



New Partners!
Questing in the Darkwood will open up new sexy partners for Ev to spend their time with, banging the headboards in the Katarina Lodgehouse rooms when they reencounter old faces in the main tavern room!



Upcoming OST Release!

Finally, we’re planning on releasing the OST by our Composer, Cilantro, onto Steam in the Near Future! We’re just making some cleanup decisions and insuring that the highest quality versions we have available are going into the file before uploading! Keep an eye out for that in the next couple of weeks!

Fixes
  • Crab’s Claw Carousel (when chained after Stream Blast) now targets the same enemies selected instead of the entire enemy team
  • Crab’s Passive Wavelength no longer stacks indefinitely, reworked to provide a 10% boost to the action bar for the whole party
  • Demon enemy units now have appropriate XP and coin rewards
  • Fixed an error that could crash the game during a late-game Kiram story segment when a Poacher enemy called for reinforcements
  • Updated Kaleida’s placeholder text
  • Quest display won’t show the Protagonist portrait and name for quests with none or unknown providers
