Brickochet - Graham Cracker

I'm thrilled to announce Set 3 is here! 25 new levels are playable -- all made by the community in the recent level designing event. You will also notice the Brickochet font now includes lowercase characters, and three new achievements have been added for this Set.

It has been quite a while since Brickochet had a major update of this kind, so I'm hoping I have implemented everything properly. But if you have any problems, let me know in the Technical Issues & Bugs thread on the discussion board and I'll address it as soon as possible!

Thanks once again to everyone who participated in the level designing event to make this possible! I hope you enjoy the new levels!

At last it's time to reveal the levels that will be in Set 3! I contacted all of the level designers yesterday to let them know which of their levels got in. And as a reminder to them that if there are any adjustments they would like made, simply email me and I'll make the adjustments as soon as I can.

A total of 16 people submitted 70 levels, and I'm happy to say all of them got at least one of their levels included in Set 3! Should an event like this occur again, the levels that did not get into Set 3 will still be eligible for future sets (unless otherwise specified).

If you want the levels to be a surprise when Brickochet is updated on March 1, don't scroll down!
LEVEL SPOILERS AHEAD!

Thanks again to all the people that participated in the level designing event! I appreciate your efforts and support so very much!

I hope everyone will look forward to this major update coming March 1!

Brickochet's level designing event is now over. Thanks to all who have participated in Brickochet's first ever community event! Your Steam Brickochet key will be sent to you via email within the next hour.

In the next couple of weeks, 25 levels will be selected and integrated into Brickochet. You won't have to wait long to play them, as Set 3 is planned to release Monday, March 1!

The levels that have been selected will be announced publicly one week beforehand, on February 22, and will be shown as they appear in-game. (Of course, some of you may not want to see all the levels before you play them, so make sure not to scroll down in that announcement! But I'll be sure to remind you again of this when the levels are posted.)

I will also message the creators via email to let them know which of their levels were entered into Set 3. Creators of the levels can email me if they would like any final adjustments made.

I hope everyone will look forward to Brickochet's upcoming major update!

Just a reminder that Brickochet's level designing event will be ending Saturday, February 6 at 1:00pm EST.

A small number of individuals have submitted levels so far, so there are good odds that these levels could end up in Set 3! But that also means there is plenty of opportunity for those who haven't submitted yet!

And remember, anyone who submits a level will receive a Steam Brickochet key, plus you don't need to own Brickochet to participate. So make sure not miss out on this special event!

Have a good Februrary, everyone!

Greetings everyone! I'm happy to announce a special community event that will add an additional 25 new levels to Brickochet!

Brickochet was comprised of 50 levels when it first released. Then later, Set 2 was made, which added an additional 25 levels. Now Set 3 will be in the works, which is planned to add another 25 levels. But this time the levels will be made by you!

Starting now until February 6, you can design your own level which could end up in Set 3 of Brickochet!

The template below will provide you with what you need.

All participants who submitted a level, regardless of whether or not their level ends up in Set 3, will receive one FREE Brickochet Steam key! The keys will be distributed on February 6, when the submission period ends.

Want to submit more than one level? By all means go ahead! Depending on how many submissions there are, more than one of your levels could be selected for Set 3! Keep in mind your additional submissions will not increase the number of Brickochet keys you receive.

Your name, be it your Steam name or otherwise, will be displayed in the upper corner of your level, so be sure to mention it.

The levels submitted for Set 3 will be determined by myself and a few other friends and relatives. Please ensure your submissions are appropriate for all ages.

If you have any questions or comments, head to the Brickochet Discussion here .

An example for your reference. Set 1, Level 46.

Hey everyone! Just a couple of minor adjustments:
  • Flame Ball particle effect is now more spread out, rather than being emmitted directly from its center.
  • Paddle tracking of the mouse's position has been slightly tweaked. This probably won't be noticable at all for most players, but it may help the responsiveness of some monitors that have a refresh rate different from the game's framerate.

Hey there brick breakers! Got a nice little update for you - two new music tracks! Compared to some of the more high-energy tracks, these two are on the calmer, steady-paced side. Hope you like them, and have a good day, everyone!

Brickochet - Graham Cracker

Hey there brick breakers! I wanted to let you know about the future plans of Brickochet.

First off, I'd like thank everyone for their support and feedback. It means a lot to see such positive critiques, comments, and anticipation for potential content.

Releasing new features and content requires time, energy, and to a lesser but significant extent, money. Creating new content is something I passionately enjoy doing, but it would not be financially conceivable to do so indefinitely. With extensive consideration on ways to deal with this factor, I have decided to plan new Brickochet titles!

I am therefore proud to announce the Brickochet series. The new title (probably called Brickochet 2) is still a very long way off, but will boast 100 levels, new power-ups, music, and level backgrounds, among other things.

Additionally, I have heard what many of you have said -- you want a level editor! Instead of having one for each game, I believe it would be best that a single game is made exclusively for this purpose. This is so the Brickochet community doesn't get broken apart and separated between releases. And yes, this means I intend for the game to have Steam Workshop support! I must admit however, that I could be getting waaaay over my head with this one. I'm just a simple self-taught developer, and I have no idea how to get this to work. It's going to take time. A lot of time!

Lastly, I promised some more music for Brickochet, and that indeed will be coming up next! Expect two new tracks sometime in February!
