Hello everyone!

Im back with another update, this one is small as unfortunately i lacked time to dive in to BRT again properly couse of family reasons and i hope you will understand this.

I focused mainly on bug fixing and made few ballance changes as well.

Version 1.15
  • Fixed number of small bugs and major "targeted_cd" variable crash as well.
  • Mouse MCV selector enabled and works as intended.
  • Butcher mobility boosted.
  • T2 Light attack vehicle added.
  • Blade drones scaling nerfed.

Hornet

Hornet is new t2 light attack vehicle with jet engine mounted on top of its hood. It brings more raw power in to the play when compared with its tier one counterparts. Please not this is just first iteration and will be changed with v 1.2 release as i want to add jet engine effect to it and few changets to its wheels will be needed as well.

Ballance changes

Butcher was given enhanced mobility to be worth considering against Predators smart drones. Now with enhanced speed its berzerker can get in to work much more often.

Blade Drones scaling was way off, and its mistake i made by not testing them properly for high lvl blasted road missions. Im sorry for that and hope you will forgive me as i ll have to delete few leaderboard entries as they would not be possible to beat with current state of ballance after 1.15 update.

You can still keep your rewards and i belive your runs were well worth the items you got frome those runs, but leaderboars will have to be cleaned a bit(there are few hacker entries as well).

Future updates

Next update is scheduled for weekend before summer sale or during the event. Hope you will still be around to check the additions as planned update is much bigger than 1.15

Hello everyone! Update 1.1 is here and i hope you are going to like it as i sunk quite a few dozen of hours in to it;-) I had to take a litle detour before continuing with t2 vehicles and instead of new attack vehicles implemented 3rd MCV.

Prowler

Prowler is the new MCV and to get it, you have to reach revered reputation with ghoul hunters faction. This new command vehicle is all about running over bandits and getting splatter bonuses to get more healing, more attack power and more of everything to get even better loot. There are two talent branches - Iron and Blood, both offering something different while Iron beign more traditional and Blood is all about creepy werid stuff while running ppl over.

Unfortunately Prowler is not fully polished right now, so expect more effects and some more visualization going on in following updates.

How do i get Ghoul Hunters reputation?

To get your hands on your new MCV you are going to need run Ghoul Hunt missions and take ghoul anihilation quests if you want to be super effective. In addition canibal ambushes and killer cop blockades are now givin GH rep. as well. Is not that hard and if you have squad that is doing mythic difficulty missions or running blasted road allready you can grind needed reputation within hour(just tested that my self).

Near Future

Sorry everyone who was reporting bugs and posted suggestion on how to improve the game. Developing new MCV is really time consuming proces so there was no time for your ideas and improvements. However i ll try to please you on the road to version 1.2 as it will focus on quality of life improvements and tons of small stuff, that makes the day brighter.

Hello everyone! Unfortunately there wont be any update released this weeknd as i work on something bigger and it requires more than one week of work. Yes, its the 3rd MCV.

In addition i want this one to be special, not strongest of all, but i want it to be played different and feel rewarding when using all the mechanics this truck will have to offer. There will be two talent branches - Iron and Blood, while iron is more traditional branch, offering obvious upgrades like additional armor, few turrets and some other stuff, blood is introducing new gameplay mechanics to the play and its effectivness will be almost fully dependant on how many splatter bonuses you can get during the mission.

Yes, this MCV will be all about running over enemies and clever use of temporary bonuses. I dont want to reveal more details as a lot can change during development, but update 1.1 should be ready within week or two at worst case.

Hello everyone & welcome back to blasted road! Im back with unexpected update, which came out of nowhere as realized there is no reason to keep you locked from content thats beign worked on if it can be served in small doses as its becoming ready for publishing.

This update brings tier 2 Marauders in to play. Please note these require honored reputation with Cult of Combustion to appear in vehicle workshop.

Predator

Predator is ultimate drone platform which come equiped with smart drones. Smart drones do not just orbit its parrent but are actively seeking enemies on their own bringing firepower anywhere on the road. Originaly i did not wanted to include predator apperance as its basicaly reskined purifier tesla truck with some added upgrades as vehicle levels up, but as you, playerbase requested it i had to include this 6 wheeler.

Butcher

Butcher is heaviest of all marauders, big in size, toughest armor coupled with HP regeneration and berzerker riding on its hood. Butcher can act as emergency tank pretty well if you will give him enought time to regain its hp between encounters. In addition its berzerker scales with terror really well so its great choice for Blasted Road missions.
Butcher was heavily inspired by well known Giga Horse as i felt its about a time to give you giant monster truck.

Cult of Combustion

Hello everyone! Update 1.075 is here and it brings long awaited t2 vehicles in to play. My original intent was to present all planned t2 vehicles at once, however as you kept reporting some of the game errors causing game to crash that had to be adressed fast, i decided to give you whats done Cult Of Combustion update instead of boring update with list of bugs that have been fixed.

Cult of Combustion update will be served in 3 parts and each will bring new vehicles you can obtain for your squadron. This time we are starting with interceptors as they require "only" friendly reputation with Cult Of Combustion to start beign available from vehicle workshop.


Cerberos
Fury regen/Hp regen and lightflamer are abilities of Cerberos interceptor. Extra lightflamer spins around 360 degrees well, so this vehicle can be very efficient on any position unless you want to mount it with heavier weapon as then, its firing arc will be limited backwards as its main weapon does not sits on top of its roof.

Coyote
Fury regen/Hp regen and hardmounted minigun are traits of this agile interceptor. Coyote is perfect for speartip position, its minigun is great addition to your firepower as long as you are in position behind enemy vehicles.

Hyena
Fury regen/Hp regen and .50cal tailguner. Hyena is Hedgehog on steroids, high armor coupled with its hp regen and small size makes this machine very durable option. Enhanced with tailguner makes it great vehicle to protect rear of your caravan or escorted vehicles.

Hello everyone, it took week and something since 1.0 launch to prepare first bug fixing update, to reflect your findings and suggestions since the game full release. I did not reflect all of your suggestions as i had different opinion on them, but i guess thats normal and we cant have everything at once. Now, lets have a look at the changes:

v1.05 changes & additions

  • fixed harpoonthrower animation bug
  • vamipric effect crash - failing to replicate reason, but should not crash anymore as countermeasure was applied.
  • shop windows are no more closing on inventory open
  • replaced supply window depart button
  • fixed missing firing arcs
  • improved cursor interaction when selling items
  • fixed various scavenger slot bugs
  • Cult of combustion reputation added as a preparation for tier 2 vehicles
  • All weapon icons chaged to represent its class : < - light weapon, << - medium weapon, <<< - heavy weapon

    Blasted Road Changes
    • Checkpoints add +5 terror now on the Blasted Road.
    • NPC turrets damage scales with terror now.


And that is the v1.05. Some of the fixes were easy, some were tricker and some changes like icon changes was pain in the ... you know where, but they had to be done. That would be it for current bug smashing run and now i can focus on adding content for most of the dev time and use the time window we have now to focus 100% on BRT while i still dont have next project on the table.

Post Launch situation & near future

Not goint to lie, the launch was almost disaster, dont know how much it was hurt by missing release discount which magicaly did not appeared, or by lack of marketing abilities. Fortunately as many of you know, im not doing this for money and i am not dependant on steam income so instead of colapsing under my table and falling in to deep depression i started working on this update and somehow things started moving, you were purchasing the game and we are almost at the level of my previous project which is great given the fact how much harder is to make your self visible on steam when compared to situation two years ago.

Fortunately i see all of this had sense and it is worth it to continue developing Blasted Road Terror. Right now there is fixed plan for two major updates comming and few more ideas for future updates are on my desk allready.

Before end of first month i would love and hope i will, deliver you tier 2 vehicles. Their availability will be tied to Cult of combustion reputation, which was allready added to the game so you can start grinding the endgame mode for it.

Before end of second month, 3rd main vehicle will come along with some tweaks and extras to make the update worth waitng for.

Yes, its here. It took 22 months to get to this point and release version 1.0 of Blasted Road Terror. Before anything else, i would like to say thank you, all of you who supported the game in early access, or even earlier by purchasing the game, commenting or participating in any other way.

Its birth was painful and complicated. I even had to start over after couple of months of development as source files got corrupted and i literaly felt as every piece of the universe is telling me: "Abandon this, it will be disaster.". But well, im not used to change my opinions very often and after roughly 2000 hours of work, the game is finally here and ready to be played.

Trading cards
Yes, we finally have trading cards! And you know what? We ve got smaileys too!

Near future of BRT
Right now i will take roughly week off, but dont worry, i will still keep a look on community center for bug reports and suggestions and will be preparing stuff for next update while replying to your questions.

What additions you might expect in future updates? Well, i would love to add third MCV, Tier 2 vehicles, More and bigger weapons, more minifactions like cannibals and killer cops, another item rarity level for those who make it past end of the road.....

There is a lot of it what can be added, and i belive, with your continuous support, it will be added.

Hello again everyone! Two weeks passed and im back with yet another update. This one is bit special couse it is the last update before we ll reach version 1.0. But first thing first, lets have a look at the new content and improvements.

0.975 additions & fixes
  • Harpoonhrower
  • Acid Spitter

  • Canyon terrain variation for all environments
  • Gearscore leaderboard

  • Mouse wheel camera scrolling
  • Minor bug fixes

As you can see this update focus was variety, both weapon and terrain. New weapons should add few more interesting variants to the both mid and engame phases of BRT. Canyons were originaly planned as separate mission type, but i decided it would be stupid to lock them out for most of the time and instead of that the decision was made to make canyons terrain variant to enrich the game visual side as much as posible.

Thats it people! Next update will follow very soon as i took week off work to make final push and bring this game to 1.0. My "to do" list now consist mainly of polishing, some sound work and improvements on the tutorial. However there is no reason to be sad, as with 1.0 release the works on new content will begin again.

Hello everyone! Another sunday, another update and the game finally reached version 0.95! This update brings a lot of bug fixes, few additions and it push the game more towards finished product.

Work on this update was bit harsh couse of ending flu epidemy in europe and i unfortunately felt victim to it after resisting it for whole winter. That resulted in forced drop of few features that i wanted to have in 0.95 release, but i guess thats life and not everything go the way it was planned all the time. However i hope this update brings enought of new stuff to be worth of downloading.

Leaderboard

I was afraid of adding this one to my games for years, as everytime i opened steam api documentation and looked on to leaderboard features i insantly got headache. Fortunately, i took another try on it why i was still in full condition and to my surprise, implementation took way less time than i expected.
Right now there is leaderboard for Blasted Road missions as its easy to measure who reached farthest and its the ultimate endgame mode that everyone should be grinding for best ingame items anyway.
Leaderboard can be viewed both on steam page and ingame. Ingame can be displayed if you mouseover scouts base and it ll pop up in a second or it is displayed each time you finish blasted road mission.

I know many of you wont be interested in this feature, but i belive it will awake competetive spirit a bit and will give all of the grindin and game progress some meaning.

Scavenger slot

Scavenger slot can be purchased in your base now! This slot can be used as additional storage slot for your vehicle, however car stationed there will depart each day for its solo mission. That means it will gain some experience and will bring few resources back to the base each day.
Meaning of this feature is to level replacement for your main squad in case you lost one of your vehicles, or bigger repairs are necessary and you dont want to replace it with fresh level 1 vehicle.
Sure, leveling while stationed in scavenger slot is a lot slower, but coupled with bit extra income from it, it makes "accidents" with your main group bit less catastrophic as you will have trained reserve waiting for assignment if managed properly.


Blasted Road Changes

Vulture Valley Oasis was added as one of the checkpoints. It can be visited by reaching terror 40 and making your way to next checpoint. Nomad trading caravan is stationed there and they will gladly throw permanent upgrades on to your weapons.
In addition spawn tokkens calculation for enemy spawner was altered so the encounters should be much shorter right now, even at higher terror levels resulting in faster runs.

Thats it friends! I know, this update is missing new loot and all that shiny stuff you are all after, but i promise, it ll come in next update!
