BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition - Frogmind
The BADLAND Level World is now available also from the Steam version. Browse, play and rate over 40 000 (and counting) player made levels in conveniently ranked categories. The update adds also a constantly updating new day with 18 levels + a new level added every one to two weeks.

New features:
- LEVEL WORLD added with 40 000+ player made levels
- Find good levels easily from categories such as ‘Most played’, ’Top rated’, “Frogmind’s Choice”, etc.
- New day added! Welcome to the 'Eternal Day' with 18 levels and a new level added every one to two weeks
- Added new leaderboards for Eternal Day and Level World

Fixes:
- Multiple controllers could in some cases change the controlled player
- The analog sticks of all controllers should now work
- Keyboard binding fixes
- Multiple smaller bug fixes based on your feedback

Last spring our tablet based level editor was opened to the players of the iPad version of BADLAND. And some month later for Google Play. The players have been making new levels since then and some of these are really rad, very ambitious for quality, creativity and for trying new things.

The editor is based on multitouch editing and is thus difficult to add to the PC version without a major user interface overhaul. But all levels are now available from the Steam version. Should you want to make some levels, you need to use the App Store or Google Play version of BADLAND. All new levels will be instantly available also from the Steam version.

The Level World comes with single player, multiplayer and co-op levels. So get playing the 40 000+ new levels! There's plenty of new things to do and a lot more variety ranging from White BADLAND to driving cars, tanks, flying laser gunning vehicles, levels mimicking other indie games and more!

We’ll keep checking the forums after the update goes live. So let us know if you bump into any issues that need fixing.

Thanks for your awesome support!

BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition - Frogmind
We at Frogmind are stoked to announce that BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition is now available worldwide for Windows, Mac and Linux through Steam!

The Steam version comes as two editions: Deluxe- including the game’s soundtrack and a digital art booklet, along with a standard edition.

BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition builds onto the original game’s strengths with improved visuals and completely revamped controls, perfected for PC. The redesigned gameplay expands that of the original by offering full directional control over the game’s characters.

It was our long term dream to bring BADLAND onto Steam in suitable form. We believe that the new controls, improved above Full-HD visuals, large amount of content and the old-school local up-to-4 player multiplayer (keyboard and/or controllers), can bring BADLAND to life in a whole new way on PC.

So be sure to check the game out and join in to #SaveTheClones. They need your help!

Regards,
The BADLAND team at Frogmind

It's official! Get ready to #SaveTheClones starting May 26 when BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition comes out on Steam for Windows, Mac & Linux! The price will be $9.99, €9.99 and £6.99 and there will also be a launch sale.

BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition builds on the original game’s strengths with enhanced visuals and new controls, perfected for PC. The redesigned gameplay expands that of the original by offering full left / right / up / down control over the game’s characters.

The Steam version supports up-to-four-player multiplayer gaming from a single keyboard (old-school style), gamepad controllers, and any combination of controllers and keyboard. You will also be able to change the keyboard mappings as you wish.

The levels of BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition have been rebuilt for the new control mechanics. The new edition features over 15 hours and 100 levels of single-player story content, 100 co-op levels, and 27 multiplayer deathmatch stages for up-to-four-person local multiplayer awesomeness.

“BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition looks stunning in above Full-HD screens with all its visual enhancements, and the multiplayer gameplay has been praised wherever we have shown it,” said Johannes Vuorinen, co-creator of BADLAND. “The co-op mode works well even for players of different skill levels – as long as one player survives, he’ll be able to quickly resurrect the others back into the game. BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition delivers a really good local multiplayer experience on top of the extensive single player campaign with about 15 hours of playtime.”

BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition - frogmind
Hi everyone!

Today we have B I G news for an indie studio: We are bringing the multi-award-winning BADLAND to Steam! Redesigned and improved to big screens, keyboard and game controllers, BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition will be available this spring!

When BADLAND was initially released in 2013 on iPad, our goal was to create a console-quality game for tablets. Frogmind was just a team of two at the time, without the resources to enter the desktop market, but we always dreamed of bringing BADLAND also to Steam. Thanks to its success on tablets we can finally make that dream reality in scale. Feels good to be able to tell all the fans who have asked for a specific Steam version that it is coming soon.

BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition has been redesigned for Steam. It builds on the beautiful, hand-painted graphics of the original with enhanced Full-HD visuals. But the biggest change is the gameplay. We knew that one button control would not be the optimal experience for Steam. We tested several alternatives and ended up expanding the controls for both hands using either keyboard or a game controller. With the new controls, the player has a lot more freedom – he can fly backwards and control the speed of his flying. This type of control felt best to us but it broke a lot of puzzles and levels that depended on the player to be able to do less. The solution was to modify every level in the game to accommodate the more expressive control scheme and that’s what we ended up doing. It wasn’t the easiest thing but it needed to be done and it was worth it. The Steam version feels very much at home here. The multiplayer mode suits desktop playing really well with multiple controllers or shared keyboard, and it feels great to be able to be more tactical in it with the new controls.

The Game of the Year Edition features over 4 times more content than the original did when it was launched. It has over 15 hours and 100 levels of single-player story content and 100 co-op and 27 multiplayer deathmatch stages in an up-to-four-person local multiplayer mode. And did I mention that it looks awesome from a large monitor/TV and feels very much at home on the platform. If you saw the Steam version first, you would not suspect that it wasn’t initially made for them.

BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition will be released in Spring 2015, exact date and price are to be announced later.
