Super Bit Machine is proud to present ARMAJET Update 1.60, Season 6! Out today, worldwide and on all platforms.

In this major update, we are ramping up the competition with a new game mode, mode-specific leaderboards, a new ultimate system, improved matchmaking, and way too much stuff to put in a single release :D


Starts June 21st, 2021

NEW Game Mode: DUEL
It’s time to put your skills to the test, pilot! In Duel, only the best will taste victory. This new game mode is 100% skill – no compromises, no carrying, no bots to worry about. Since the beginning of Armajet we have focused primarily on team-based modes, but there’s often been demand for a place where talented pilots can shine on their own.

So, how does the new game mode work?

- Games are 1v1
- Health regeneration is turned off
- No ultimates
- Health pick-ups are 25 HP, and one will drop from a dead pilot
- Shield pickups are 25hp, and you can stack to 50
- First pilot to 5 kills wins!

We're excited to see videos of top competitions and see which loadouts are best for it. Also, picking a pilot with the right HP/Speed combination will be even more important here.



NEW Leaderboards

So much to choose from.
In addition, to ramp up the competition even more, we’re introducing new and improved leaderboards, where we track Win/Loss ratios for each game mode, as well as Score, Top Wave and Time for Survival, broken down by solo, duo, trio and quad.

In Season 6, you’ll be able to compete against other pilots in a variety of categories. It will no longer only be about valor. We have added each game mode to the leaderboards for Versus categories, AND, there is also a new Survival leaderboard!

The feedback has been overwhelming that you love Survival. We do too, and that’s why we decided to add it to the new leaderboards. Now, you can see how great your Magma run stacks up to everyone else! Or maybe you’ll show off a crazy run on District? We’re excited to see!



NEW Matchmaking

Lots of options here, which default to all 8-player modes.
In 1.60, you’ll be able to customize your ARMAJET experience exactly how you want it. Do you only want to play Deathmatch and Battle Ball? No problem! Fuel Frenzy and Deathmatch? You got it. And of course, the new game mode Duel.

The play mode screen now allows multiple selections. Remember: the more you select, the better and faster the matchmaking will be!



NEW Practice Mode

Rip 'em a new one in practice mode
With this new mode, you’ll be able to try out any weapon, secondary and ultimate before you decide to unlock it. Pressing “Try Now” will take you to a special map where immobile bots will spawn and you can freely try out anything in the Armory!



NEW Tiered Ultimate System

Well, what do we have here...
One of the ways we’ve wanted to expand ARMAJET is by introducing bigger and more powerful Ultimates. However, in the current system, we’re limited because they would swing the game too much and make the game feel less skillful and controlled, and more chaotic instead. In order to bring those kinds of Ultimates, we need to increase the risk and reward while maintaining an aspect of skill. To accomplish that, we’ve created a new 3-tier Ultimate System!

Here’s how it works:

Each kill you accumulate will charge your Ultimate by 1. Each tier requires 3 kills in order to fully charge. It is up to you if you want to wait for the next tier, OR, use the tier that is available to you. As you progress up each tier, the Ultimates get more and more powerful, until you reach Tier 3 where a Napalm Strike will almost definitely wipe out the other team!

To choose which Ultimates you’d like to use, access your Armory and select an Ultimate in each Tier (I, II and III). If you’ve successfully selected an Ultimate, its icon will show up on your Armory screen above the respective tier.

We believe this will make Loadouts more flexible, and will give new meaning to a "life" in ARMAJET. You can still do rush, die, repeat, but there's a clear advantage if you can stick around and survive.

Because of this change, we've modified most maps to have an Ultimate charge. Picking up an Ultimate charge will immediately take you to the next tier!

Note: If you see a player with a head streak (the colored fire sticking out of players' heads) it means they can unleash a streak, so watch out!



NEW Secondary Weapon: the Looper boomerang

It will come back to haunt you
Introducing our latest creation to assist your K/D on the new leaderboards: Looper – a boomerang!

Looper is a projectile that can pierce enemies (similar to Velocitas) and deal damage to multiple pilots in one shot. At 35 damage per hit, that adds up pretty quick! Like a real boomerang, when you throw it, it will attempt to return to you before it disappears. This means you can hit the same enemy twice dealing up to 70hp worth of damage!

We can’t wait to see what kind of trick shots and interesting ways pilots will make use of this new weapon! As a hint, try throwing it through the teleporters in Laboratory!

Looper is available as an exclusive for Season 6 in the season pass, and after Season 6 it will be available to unlock in the Armory.

NEW and Improved Laboratory Map

Tighter, but still teleport-y
When we released Laboratory, we wanted to try something new and different – teleporting. As well, we wanted to make a map unlike any other in the game in terms of size and feel. However, after thorough testing and from your feedback, it was clear that the large size of the map didn’t suit the way ARMAJET is designed.

In this redesign, we kept the tactical feel of the large map, but shrunk it down and tightened up the middle. Laboratory now feels much more accessible while giving you similar ways to move around the map.


A bunch of other changes and fixes have been bundled with this release, including:


Arrrrrriving with the Season Pass
- Season 6 "Plunder" weapon skins
- New in-game decals (explosions and blood), which you can turn on/off in settings
- New survival systems and balancing (enemies have to walk into base to damage it instead of firing at it)
- Improvements to Drone AI
- More customization options for Custom games (time/goal limits)

NEW MAP! - Beach


As good weather begins to approach, we were really feeling those summer time vibes and thought, what better theme for our Season 5 map, than to hit the beach with a blacktusk, soak up some sun rays and blast some buddies? Our new map features an oceanside view with caves to explore and a nice hot sandy beach perfect for playing some Beach Battle Ball!


NEW ULTIMATE! - Reflector EXO


Another excellent community-generated idea (thank you Hoakin Blackforge!), we bring you a new tool to further your arsenal of options to mow down your opponents - the Reflector EXO!

Here’s how it works:

After activating, you will receive 33% less damage. Every time you are dealt 50 damage (based on the damage before damage reduction is applied), Reflector fires that damage back towards your opponent! It lasts for 20 seconds so you’ve got plenty of time to make use of it. But keep in mind, while 33% less damage sounds like a lot, you can still die easily if you’re not careful!


NEW SKINS! - The Pineapple series


New Pineapple death effect and skin for: Cluster Grenade, Nightfall, Prox. Mine, Venom, Locust, Ripper and Tremor!

NEW MOVEMENT AND PHYSICS FOR SEASON 5!

That’s right, we have made some big, bold changes to the way movement and physics work in Season 5! Get strapped in because the changes are pretty significant!

- Ground speed has been increased - you will run 10% faster now. This is a huge change - it means your top speed on the ground is higher, just by running.
- Running and flying acceleration is doubled. Top speeds will take much less time to reach. This will increase responsiveness a lot, especially when moving left/right repeatedly.
- Jetpack thrust has been improved greatly. When you start to use your jetpack, it will consume 5 frames of fuel in 1 frame, while providing a lot more movement. This decreases the time you’re lagging mid-air and increases responsiveness of the controls, especially mobile devices.
- Ground hopping (aka bunny hopping) gives more horizontal momentum than before, so you will achieve top speeds faster moving horizontally.
- Boost has been adjusted to have more mid-air acceleration, making it better at being a dodge ability as opposed to reaching top speeds.

Why did we make changes to movement for Season 5, you might ask? During internal testing, we found that when you improved responsiveness, movement felt a lot better. Players want immediate feedback when they make inputs, so for Season 5 we want to make that better in every area - on the ground, in the air, when you’re running, etc. Additionally, we are positioning bunny hopping to be the king for reaching top speeds, as opposed to using boosts. Overall, we think you’ll find the changes make Armajet feel much snappier than before.


General Changes and Bug Fixes
A bug that prevented players from being able to queue using specific game modes has been fixed (Note: We are also aware that there is a bug similar to this affecting Quick Play. This may have fixed both - please let us know if you continue to experience getting stuck in queue when using Quick Play by sending an e-mail to support@superbitmachine.com!)

- Fixed a bug where you can't change the clan tag and in some languages, can't create a clan
- A bug related to “Please Wait…” issues when opening packs has been fixed
- Fixed issues where auto-aim would not lock onto new enemies while holding down, or give a highly inaccurate angle until released
- Fixed issue sometimes disconnecting users that were both connected with wifi and cellular at the same time and had spotty wifi
- Implemented adaptive input queue to reduce rubber banding and improve stability for jittery connections
- Added network monitor (beta) which you can activate from Settings (if you have connection trouble, send us a video with it showing!)
- Laboratory: Projectiles now teleport correctly


Balance Changes

Nightfall
- Damage 100 -> 110
- Projectile size and trail is now easier to see
- Can no longer fire when charge is at less than 100% (like Velocitas)
Nightfall is meant to be a high risk, high reward weapon and this will give it back that threatening, one-shot power it used to have.

Locust
- Damage 14 -> 13
Locust had a bit too much front-loaded damage, making it too strong combined with its excellent pushback capability.

Ripper
- Damage 50 -> 40

This will help balance Ripper’s through-wall effect which has proven to be very effective.

Frag Grenade
- Range 19.5m -> 16.5m
This will make Frag a little more risky to use, balancing its high payload.

Proximity Mine
- Damage 90 -> 100
Proximity mine’s payload wasn’t good enough to warrant running it instead of a more situational secondary. This damage boost should make it a viable support tool. As a hint - think jump pads!

Vector
- Damage 90 -> 70
After seeing how well players have been able to make use of Vector’s bounce, we can tune its damage down to a more reasonable level.

Gun Sentry
- Damage 12 -> 11
Gun Sentry is a stationary Blacktusk, so this brings them back to parity.

Greetings, Pilots! We're introducing DOUBLE SHARD WEEKENDS to Armajet with our first-ever 2x event scheduled to launch on Friday, June 26th (noon PDT) to Sunday, June 28th (midnight PDT). Players will now be able to:
  • Gain TWICE the shard value amount for Wins, Losses and Draws
  • 400 maximum Play Shards available to earn rewards with (win or lose)
  • Shard gain timer will be halved and regenerate every hour during the event
Plus, CAST YOUR VOTE on this weekend's PvP (Versus) game mode mutator! Choose between Instagib, High Octane, Fueled, and Transfusion! 1.13 WEAPON BALANCE UPDATE
Check out these HUGE balance changes just in time for Update 1.13 and many of you have these listed as your favorites! We're excited to see what you'll do with them in upcoming competitive events and public matches in general... especially as most of these are buffs and mechanical changes!

PRIMARY WEAPONS

Venom (Overall Buff)
  • Now with more goo! 3 Goobabies now deal 8dmg each (up from 2 Goobabies dealing 10dmg each)
  • Direct 'Goo' damage increased to 25 (up from 20)
  • Increased burst interval by ~28%
Leviathan (Overall Buff)
  • NEW Incendiary Rounds on contact dealing 2 ticks of 8 dmg each (total 16) on top of the 70dmg direct bullet (down from 80) = Total of 86 dmg if hit!
  • Increased weight and cooldown per shot by 10% (cooldown to 2.2s per shot from 2.0s)
Lycan (Overall Buff)
  • Clip size increased to 10 from 6
  • Faster burst interval by 25% (.3s from .4s)
  • Knockback removed
Havoc (Slight Nerf)
  • Increased cooldown to match Badger (1.8 up from 1.6s)
Ripper (Major Rework and Overall Buff)
  • Ripper Blades have been sharpened and now fly faster, longer and with more bounce!
  • Reduced damage per blade to 12dmg (down from 35) but...
  • Increased Clip Size to 10 (from 3)
  • Burst and Cooldown reduced by 50% (.5s to .25s, respectively)
  • Slight range reduction (~6%)
  • Knockback reduced by 50% (2 from 4)
SBM Commentary: Not sure which one of these buffs are your favorite? Good news! You'll be able to earn a majority of these weapons just by playing Armajet and progressing through Valor Road!

ULTIMATES
Drones in general receive a slight buff with increased Speed!
  • Up to 20 Speed from 16
  • Up to 10 Acceleration from 7
SBM Commentary: Since the 'EXO' update, we didn't want our lovely drones of death lagging behind the curve. They should be speedier as we look into other ways to balance Ultimates in the future.

SBM Commentary: After listening to even more feedback on player rewards, Valor Road has no received a big buff! Currencies including Gold and Paragon checkpoints now reward larger amounts both below <5K and >5K Valor. 5000 Valor will be an important marker in the coming future as we explore Season resets. Exclusive weapon items of different rarities and types have been moved to Valor Road in hopes that players can explore even more playstyles. Reminder: Only SKILL can get you there—increasing weapon rarities only lead to MORE SITUATIONAL gameplay—TEAM UP with more Pilots to claim all the items through 5000 Valor!

Have fun with these and don't forget to WORK TOGETHER to complete some of the tougher ones!


Game Mode: Free For All
  • It's every Pilot for themselves in the classic Free For All (FFA) mode and only the Top 50% of Pilots will be victorious
  • New FFA scoreboard indicating Top 50% (tagged in Gold) and your placement (Alpha) relative to everyone else (Bravo)
  • FFA is available to vote on and play in all arenas including Custom Matches
SBM Commentary: There's nothing wrong with flying solo in our skies! For those who've ever wanted to shoot anything that moves... Free For All game mode has arrived! Test your flight skills against everyone in the arena and claim a top 50% spot to secure the W... err V (for Valor). Good luck in discovering which weapon combinations work for you!
Korean Language Support

  • Korean language support now available and ready to select from in Language Picker (Settings, Account)

Game Mode Mutators
  • Play Armajet in new and very fun (incredibly dangerous) ways with Mutators—now available in every map and game mode!
  • Mutators include 'Instagib', 'High Octane', 'Camouflaged', 'Fueled', 'Transfusions' and 'Fast Ultimates' (for now) and are also available to play in Custom Matches once unlocked
  • Mutators are chance-based and may appear in the matchmaking vote screen as long as each member of the lobby meets a Mutator's minimum Valor requirements (check Valor Road for details)
SBM Commentary: Almost all of our Pilots have asked "What if?" so here's your chance to change the game with Armajet Game Mode Mutators! If you're high-enough in Valor try practicing in Customs and get your fellow Pilots to join you. We'd love to hear your feedback on what you think, especially as Mutators also give our Pilots a low barrier to entry for trying out new weapon loadouts such as the Instagib Mutator with 'Velocitas' only!


New Arena: DISTRICT
  • Welcome to Armajet's skyscraper-filled cyberpunk themed arena, District, where Marigold Corporation HQ controls all aspects of the future skies!
  • New: Soar through District's neon skies with exclusive 45-degree jump pads
  • New: Ultimate Supercharger Power-up—supercharge your ultimate to 100% instantly
  • All game modes are available to play in District
SBM Commentary: After last week's unfortunate social media takeover by Marigold during 'Velocitas Day' we have no choice but to introduce District as a new arena for Update 1.12! District is by far the most vertical, open-airspace, arena we have and introduces many more ways to truly achieve "Death from above." We're also introducing the "Ultimate Supercharger" Power-Up for the first time (a District-only exclusive... for now) in an arena that also has Invisibility AND Double Damage. Marigold Corp. executives REALLY likes to put on a show so we expect nothing less than a display of 'luxury killing' from our Pilots on District!
Custom Matches+
  • Additional match modifiers are now available in Custom Matches: Match Time, Objective Limit (specific per Game Mode), Power-Up Options (All, Offensive, Defensive, Off) and Mutators!
  • Practice newly unlocked weapons or fine-tune strategies with your fellow Pilots by enabling the 'Bots' switch

As an Armajet Tournament Organizer, Leader of a Clan wanting to set up scrims, or a solo Pilot needing some pressure-free practice, boot up a Custom Match server with every option available on any game mode with the option of any Mutator you've unlocked! We've seen some of the tournaments our community has been producing lately and we're excited to see what can happen with Armajet streams or competitive events with even more options and Mutators available to use. If you're looking to produce tournaments, give us a shout in our discord as we'll happily support these events!

EXO Ultimate Update
  • EXO Ultimates (Super Speed, Super Shield, Triggerhappy, Self Heal) now have 'Recovery XP' upon Pilot death, increasing their usefulness when Pilots do not use 100% of the EXO's active time
  • Recovery XP is equal to the EXO active time remaining upon death converted into % Ultimate charge
  • Along with its normal 100% heal upon activation, EXO 'Self Heal' healing now begins after 0.2s if Pilot is missing health AND hasn't taken any damage within this period.
SBM Commentary: EXOs have always been perceived as less-than-stellar picks for Ultimates even though they're the easiest to obtain in matches compared to mechanical or strike Ultimates (lowest XP requirements to activate). Whether you're a new or veteran Pilot, we're certain that this new 'Recovery XP' mechanic can be appreciated (and capitalized on) as we head into modes like Instagib with Super Speed and Trigger Happy or Free For All with Self-Heal and Super Shield, for example.
General Improvements
  • More Weapons, Pilots, Skins, and Jet Trails are now available in the Store
  • Fuel Frenzy game mode now available on Temple (fallen Fuel Cells do not respawn)
  • Language selection is now available in Settings (within the Account tab)

UPDATE 1.11: ARMAJET SOUNDTRACK BY NOISIA!

Armajet players will experience the brand new original soundtrack made by legendary drum and bass group, NOISIA! Get ready for jetpack combat with "The Ascent" (Main Theme), "Decloak", "Hardskin", "Vaporized", and "Wallhack" — 5 tracks inspired by intense multiplayer combat that NOISIA created exclusively for Armajet!

APP OPTIMIZATION

Update 1.11 includes many performance optimizations across the board and the download size is now 5 times smaller!

SBM Commentary: Alongside this amazing sound upgrade, we've listened to the feedback of our mobile users and optimized, re-optimized, and then squeezed Armajet's app size even further to make downloading and asset loading as efficient as possible. Update 1.11 should help the performance of even more mobile devices in and out of gameplay!

SBM Commentary: The Badger and Locust have been a bit too oppressive as of late, but these minor tweaks won't affect the way they're played in the arena versus adding a bit more risk to the user. We're closely monitoring all other weapons around this balance change especially with the upcoming community tournaments!

GAMEPLAY
Placed a .25s delay when switching between Primary and Secondary fire ("Double-Tap" mechanic suppression) addressing an issue between PC-Mobile platform parity

SBM Commentary: We're all about platform parity with Armajet being a cross-platform game. Although mobile players can be just as fast as our PC players, keeping the reliability and consistency of firing primaries and secondaries for all our users will always be our goal.

SBM Commentary: Arriving just in time for Bitmas 2019... Battle Ball is here in our biggest update yet! With a game mode like this, pairing it up with Squad Chat is critical to your team's success. We encourage all of you Pilots to discover new competitive strategies in all our current arenas! Remember, team work is everything in this mode... don't forget to Pass, Shoot (from far away if you're good enough!) and Dunk the Battle Ball! Do you know a goalie with a golden glove? Guard that goal carefully and see you in the arena!

Battle Ball!
- Play Battle Ball, our newest strategic game mode, in 3v3 or 4v4 Squads!
- Work together closely to Shoot, Pass, Intercept and even Dunk the Battle Ball (if you dare!)
- Use each map's unique terrain for tricky 'bounce' and 'bank' skill shots
- Each team's power hoop is located on opposite ends of each map—defend them wisely! (No, you can't score in your own goal!)
- Picking up the Battle Ball instantly replaces your secondary and functions similarly to a frag grenade (Hold-Release; longer Hold for maximum range and throw velocity)
- Score 3 Goals OR have the most goals in 3 minutes to win!
- Tied scores initiate a one minute overtime!
- Dropping the Battle Ball for more than 5s destabilizes its core causing a massively deadly explosion!
- The Battle Ball respawns in 10s after every Goal or Battle Ball explosion
- NEW Battle Ball Visual and Sound FX!
SBM Commentary: The Battle Ball can pass through vines and light bridges on Temple, Moon and Snow Base and we CERTAINLY had an explosive time trying some of these strats! Pro Tip: The Battle Ball remembers "last touch" characteristics, so if you're going for the dunk and get blown to bits in the right direction you may yet score a GOOOAL!

Squad Chat
- Start a Squad Chat by creating a squad or joining another Pilot's squad in the home screen!
- Squad Chat channel and alerts appear in the home screen (upper left!)
- Squad Chat history is preserved with time stamp information (as long as the squad exists)
- Use Emojis with Squad Chat!
SBM Commentary: Squad Chat is finally here! We encourage all of our Pilots to socialize and form strategies between games, especially as we develop even more competitive game modes!

SBM Commentary: Share how you feel in the middle of a match as quickly as possible with these new animated emojis! We're also rolling out 1.9 with our first trio of localized language support which should help our international friends understand our UI elements and Settings, especially now that they're customizable! To round off 1.9, we've tweaked Valor Road under 1000 to include even more early-game countermeasures as your progress through your Pilot Career—Super Shield and EMP are high-tier weapons and now they're available to support you through your journey past 1000 Valor! Note: If you have yet to unlock Super Shield and EMP Grenade but are over Valor 1000, check your armory shortly after 1.9 drops!

Overall Gameplay Improvements
Jetpack power has been increased when falling. Pilots can now stop downward momentum and reach ledges without depleting all of your fuel—try more advanced moves to increase your flight time!
SBM Commentary: Have you ever dropped down from the sky, activated your jetpack expecting positive lift... and completely used up all your fuel reaching a ledge? Not anymore, Pilots! Check out the new jetpack with increased feedback (this change also enables some great air-braking/juking tactics...)

Weapon Balancing
Ultimate charge rates now consider ALL sources of score-additive XP gain, including Killstreaks and Medals (previously Kills and Assists only) along with the standard charge rate of +3 "XP" per second
  • Pilots holding Fuel Cells in Fuel Frenzy now gain +25XP per cell held every 20s (which also contribute to Ultimate charge)
  • EXO Ultimate cooldowns are reset upon death, enabling them to re-charge much quicker
  • All mechanical Ultimates (Sentries & Drones) now delay firing until fully spawned
  • (+) Shock Drone damage now matches Thunderstorm damage (8 damage)
  • In order of quickest Ultimate charge and frequency, EXOs are now generally easier to charge, then Rocket Strike, Sentries and Drones, followed by the Flame Drone and Napalm Strike
SBM Commentary: Ultimates now charge with ALL XP sources achieved during gameplay, including Killstreaks, Medals, and Fuel Frenzy cells held (alongside Kills and Assists). Hint: If you're confident in your killing spree abilities, harder-to-obtain and riskier Ultimates should be well within your wheel house. Conversely, if you play more of a support or backline role, EXO suits are generally easier to obtain for you.

Custom HUD and Aim Assist Options
Mobile players are now able to customize and save placement of movement and firing areas, movement stick, Primary and Secondary sticks, Ultimate and Boost button
  • Aim Assist is now optional with "ON" (default) = Classic Aim Assist with tap-to-fire and "OFF" = 'Deadzone' introduced with drag-to-fire mechanic
SBM Commentary: One of the most anticipated features finally comes to mobile: Custom HUD! Adjust your button layouts to be more ergonomic across all mobile devices. Secondarily, more advanced aiming is possible with Aim Assist = OFF, activating a deadzone for manual fire! Veterans and starting Pilots can both appreciate more control and customization options and we're happy to continue improving "V1" as we seek to bring even further button parity across platform.
