Hey Guys!

We've been listening to your feedback and working hard to further improve your experience with our game. We’re excited to share with you a few updates and changes!

Achievements have landed!
To unlock them one needs to play the game again. We’ve prepared some hidden achievements on your way through, so we didn’t want to spoil the fun.

We also have another big surprise for you, as AoF will be participating in the Weeklong sale starting from Monday, 24th of April. So for those of you who are still considering discovering the story behind Nate’s disappearance - here’s your chance (:

We are still focusing our efforts on further improving your experience with our game.

Lastly, we'd like to extend our thanks to all of you who have played Anthology of Fear and supported us through this journey. We couldn't have come this far without your feedback.

Hi again!

It’s been an intense weekend! We want to thank everyone who gave Anthology of Fear a chance. Your positive opinions warmed our hearts though we appreciate and are grateful for the constructive feedback which enables continuous improvement of the overall experience. We have told this story the way we wanted to, although there are still some parts we are still implementing. We will be addressing the below as quickly as we can.

We’re prioritizing the major issues raised. Firstly, the price. We’ve heard your feedback about price/playtime ratio and we will be adding additional content to the game.

A thing which concerned many of you was the interaction system. There will soon be an option to switch between simplified and original interaction mode. Now it will be the left mouse button.

When it comes to the save system, we are working on adding the option to load the unlocked chapters.

A patch regarding those issues – as well as some minor fixes – will be uploaded near the end of this week. We hope those changes will make your experience with AoF even more pleasant.

Lastly - as it comes to the ending: Ethan’s story has indeed ended, and we finished it the way we intended this story to unfold. However, there will be an opportunity to experience more tapes from the Morpheus Medical Center in the near future.

In a couple of days we will also add achievements to the game, and we are also planning some extras.

Stay tuned!
OhDeer Studio and 100 Games team.

The story we've planted in our demo is about to reveal. To say that our team is excited would be an awful understatement (;

The game is out now! Limited time launch discount of -30%. The discount will last for a week.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1092530/Anthology_of_Fear/

You can also try your luck in giveaways organized by your favorite YouTubers!

It’s been an interesting couple of weeks and we’re not slowing down yet, there’s still so much to be done. If this were the perfect world, then everything would be ready weeks before the launch, but it’s not the perfect world and it never goes that way (;

That being said, if you encounter any major bugs, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us on Steam discussions. We’ve added a subforum just for bug reporting, there’s also a brief guide provided to help you (and us) with eliminating all the issues.

Moreover, all 15 languages have been implemented. Full controller support has also been added . Steam Deck compatibility is entirely on Valve's side to make such verification. We are optimistic that they will conduct it shortly. Achievements will be added in the first few patches.

We hope you will have fun facing the horrors of our humble creation,
OhDeer Studio and 100 Games team

Hi there!

We are excited to say that the main bulk of the work on Anthology of Fear is done! There’s no time to rest yet, though, as we keep on polishing the experience and working on as many details we can. We’re doing what we can so you can have the best experience playing Anthology on release day.

When it comes to translations we mentioned in the last devlog, we are happy to confirm the complete list of languages in the full version of AoF:

English, Polish, German, Italian, Chinese Traditional
Chinese Simplified, Spanish-Latin America, French, Korean, Ukrainian
Japanese, Russian, Turkish, Portuguese-Brazil, Czech

Additionally, we started adding more graphical settings, which now include:
- Gamma & Brightness
- Motion blur
- Depth of field
- Chromatic Aberration
- Film grain

However, we ask for a small favor: please let us know if there are other settings you would like to see in the game.
We are still working on improving accessibility in AoF, and if we could help you enjoy the game a little bit more by adding some options, we will happily do it.

See you soon,
OhDeer Studio and 100 Games team

Hi again!

Happy new year! May it be full of joy and thrilling experiences. We know we’re a bit late, but we come to you with great news!

Thanks to our friends over at gamersky com, with the newest update we’re adding Simplified and Traditional Chinese translations. Our team has also put together a Polish translation. We hope this will help make Anthology of Fear available to a larger audience.

At this moment, we do not plan on adding additional translations to the demo; however, the full version of the game will include around 15 languages (which we will update on the game's store page soon).

See you soon,

Hi there!

First of all, let us thank everyone who visited Gamersky com’s booth at WePlay Expo, which Anthology of Fear was a part of. We are happy to see new people being introduced to our little game.

We’ve been quite busy these last couple of weeks and we’ve got some news for you. First, we’ve decided we’ll be going independent with Anthology of Fear and we took over the matters of publishing the game. This doesn’t mean our former publisher has stopped supporting us; however, it does influence the time we need to finish AoF.

Second piece of news is that our friends over at Gamersky com have reached out to us and offered to help us with promoting the game and distributing it across China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. Gamersky com will also help us with the Chinese localization.

Unfortunately, we will need some additional time to finish the game. This means that we had to reschedule AoF’s release, the new date being March 17th, 2023. We're sorry for delaying the game, but we need to remind you that Anthology of Fear is being developed by one person. We’re trying to help and support our developer as much as we can and we think this new launch date will allow for a stress-free release. Well, less stressful at least.

We do not plan on updating the demo for a while, but every issue addressed for the full version will also be addressed in the demo later on. This includes key remapping, additional accessibility settings, etc.

To sweeten this bitter piece of news just a bit, here are some new screenshots, teasing new content:

Anthology of Fear - OhDeer Studio
Hi again!

First of all, let us thank anyone who played our special Halloween-themed version of the game during Scream Fest. If you’d still like to check it out, you can do so by switching to Halloween in the Special Events tab in main menu.

A few weeks ago Gamersky.com reached out to us to include Anthology of Fear in WePlay Expo, China’s largest video game festival. We are happy to see AoF among many other indie titles. You can find our game under Adventure genre.

We’ll see you soon with fixes and updates!
Anthology of Fear - OhDeer Studio
Hi there!

Let’s celebrate the spooky season together, during this year’s Scream Fest. We are proud to have our demo displayed among other great horror titles and happy to see fellow indie developers sharing their progress.

We’ve been working hard on AoF since the Next Fest. It’s great to see more and more people recording their playthroughs, many of whom found us on itch.io. We want you to know that we’re listening and appreciating your guys’ feedback and we will be updating the demo as we work on the full version of the game. There are a few major updates coming your way, but for the Halloween event we focused on fixing more urgent issues to make the demo more enjoyable. Those include:

  • Fixing triggers on doors
  • Increasing the range of gamma slider
  • Minor fixes for guiding players through the map
  • Adding a few new interactions and events on the level
  • Fixing cutscene audio levels
  • Optimizing interaction with doors
  • Updating HDRP to optimize the game

There are some minor known issues, though:
  • Updating HDRP glitched reflections and textures on a few meshes
  • The game can freeze for a second when loading new events
  • The clothes are not yet perfectly fitted to certain… characters

To celebrate the Halloween event we have also modified the scenes just a little bit; the changes are not in the game yet, but they will be added in tomorrow’s update! It’s only cosmetic, but we wanted to add some spooky vibes to the environment.

As always, we welcome your feedback. The release date is coming quickly, and our team is quite small, but we will do what we can to make the game more fun to play.

Have fun during this Halloween!
Anthology of Fear - OhDeer Studio
Hi everyone!

The Steam Next Fest October edition is coming to an end, so we wish to conclude it with a few words from the developer and 100 Games team.

Firstly, to YouTubers and their communities: thank you for playing the Demo and for receiving it so kindly. We’ve watched every gameplay and we’ve read through hundreds of comments. We see your questions and we appreciate your feedback so much. It was extremely reassuring, especially since we haven’t been able to present anything from the game for such a long time.

Secondly, we see you remember the prologue from three years ago. It may not be the best news for some of you, but we wish to share it with you anyway. Although Anthology of Fear: Prologue had been released under a different studio name, and the full version since the very beginning has been developed by only one, and the same throughout, person! The development of the game turned out to be longer than we might have wished. Don’t worry, though, the game is almost finished.

What’s also new, is that the development of Anthology of Fear is now being supervised by 100 Games, the team which has been with this title since the very beginning. We have been responsible for AoF’s quality assurance for over 3 years and now we can officially announce that we’re aiding the developer as best as we can, and we’re proud of the work we’ve all put into the game.

Since the prologue, the game has changed drastically. We’ve been through a few different visions and different approaches to the story. To show you just how far the game has come, Anthology of Fear: Prologue will still be available on itch.io. You can think of the prologue as another addition to our Anthology, another chapter. However, the events of Anthology of Fear: Prologue are not linked in any way to the events of the full version.

Lastly, we have seen you asking questions… Which we will answer in the full version. When? January 20, 2023. Until then, you can still play the Demo.

We don’t want to leave you with no info from us for too long, again. For the next few months we want to update you and perhaps tease you just a bit with content from the game. We’ve been quiet for too long.

See you soon,
OhDeer Studio and 100 Games team
