American Truck Simulator - Tiktak

Welcome to the third-largest city in the Hawkeye State! In today's blog, we bring our #BestCommunityEver another preview from the upcoming Iowa DLC for American Truck Simulator. Let's take a tour of Davenport!

This city is part of the Quad Cities, a complex of cities at the Iowa-Illinois border which actually includes five metropolitan hubs, Rock Island, Davenport, Moline, East Moline, Illinois, and Bettendorf, Iowa. This area is the only place where the Mighty Mississippi runs east to west. With the release of the Hawkeye State, you will be able to visit the Iowa part of the Quad Cities, but you can also look forward to trucking to the rest of this complex when Illinois DLC releases.

Davenport is nestled along the northern bank of the Mississippi River. This city is full of history and beautiful architectural gems, which our teams have recreated for this map expansion, so you will feel like you are really there!

When you are driving through, keep your eyes peeled for landmarks like the Dillon Fountain, the Figge Art Museum, the Skybridge, the Arsenal Bridge, the Mississippi River Bridge, the City Hall of Bettendorf, and the Waterfront Convention Center, but also several stunning sculptures.

If you are looking for a job around the city, make sure to visit the local Aluminum Factory, a brand-new prefab depot created by our asset designers with fresh assets around it, nicely complementing the area. Other than that, you can also get yourself busy at the custom River Port and Quarry depots. With multiple companies to choose from, you can haul a wide variety of cargoes.

Excited to explore this urban hub? Then don't forget to support us by adding the Iowa map expansion to your Steam Wishlist! Until then, make sure to stay up to date on any other news by following us on our social media (TwitterFacebook, InstagramTikTok, and YouTube) or signing up for our newsletter. We wish you safe travels!

American Truck Simulator - London

Today, we are happy to share that the 1.55 Open Beta branch for American Truck Simulator is now available to try and test out. If you plan on participating in this Open Beta, we ask that you please help us by reporting any bugs you may encounter in the appropriate section(s) of our official forums.

Your feedback and reports are truly valuable to our team, and we thank you in advance for taking the time to help us out. Please keep in mind that this is the first open beta iteration, and it is still a work-in-progress build that will receive updates throughout the open beta period.

Now, without further ado, let's take a look at what the 1.55 Open Beta has in store.

Driving Academy - Truck Driving Proficiency

This new Driving Academy module, called Truck Driving Proficiency, will introduce a set of much more challenging scenarios, which will test even the most skilled drivers to the limit. For this new module and set of scenarios, we will also introduce a new reward system. The most important thing is still to precisely complete a scenario by driving along the designated path and avoiding any collisions. For proficiency level, there may be additional conditions you will have to meet to successfully pass the scenario.

Players will be able to achieve up to 3 collectable stars in this module, which can be earned by meeting additional conditions such as only using the interior camera, limiting gear shifts between drive and reverse, or completing the scenario in the set time. You'll earn a reward for completing all the scenarios, and you can unlock additional rewards by collecting all 3 stars in each one.

To really test your skills, you won't find any pre-recorded video tutorials, and you will have to use all the knowledge we taught you in our first module of Driving Academy. Let us know how you get on!

Asynchronous Loading

We have been hard at work implementing a major overhaul in the way our game loads and processes data, a new system we call Asynchronous Loading. This system is designed to improve the loading process by ensuring that the game and loading screens remain uninterrupted while assets are loaded in the background. The primary benefit here is the mitigation of stuttering, resulting in a smoother experience overall.

We'd like to thank everyone who contributed their feedback to the Experimental Beta in Euro Truck Simulator 2, which was centred around this new update. Your feedback was incredibly valuable to our team, and now we are happy to be able to continue to bring this new feature forward into the Open Beta. You can help us fine-tune this feature by reporting any unusual loading behaviour in the dedicated 1.55 forum section.

Fifth Generation Freightliner Cascadia Update

A range of new accessories and improvements have been made to the Fifth Generation Freightliner Cascadia. From a paintable airdam and sunvisor to chrome mirror and filter options, you’ll have more ways than ever to personalize your truck’s look. Inside the cabin, you can now choose from updated tan, grey, or the newly added black interiors, along with either a classic or modern dashboard layout, bringing the total to six interior variants per sleeper!

Exterior updates include refinements to the 72" sleeper side walls, improved blind spot sensors compatible with both traditional and digital mirrors, and revised camera arms with more accurate turn indicator behavior. We've also smashed some bugs along with this update too!

You can check out the full list of changes and additions at this blogpost.

Kenworth T680 Update

The Kenworth T680 is getting an update! First released in December 2023 to celebrate Kenworth’s 100th anniversary, the truck was developed on an accelerated schedule with help from Kenworth’s team. Now, we’re expanding its customization options to give players even more control over how their truck looks and performs.

Players will be able to choose between three cab variants as we are adding the 52" Mid-Roof and the 76" High-Roof, offering more flexibility and personality on the road. The chassis lineup will expand by seven configurations, including 6x4 options for all cabs in both short and long hood versions, as well as 4x2 setups specifically for day cabs.

A total of 20 interior variants will be added: eight for the 76" High-Roof cab and eight for the 52" Mid-Roof, each in both single and double bunk layouts, plus four tailored for the day cab. Every interior will come in Diamond VIT and Vantage trims, with stylish Tan and Grey color options.

Under the hood, drivers will have even more options, as we are adding seven powerful engine variants from the Cummins X12 and X15 series, and also five new transmission options to match their driving style. To top it off, all paint jobs, including those from DLCs, are now fully compatible with the T680. Whether you're going for style, performance, or both, the updated T680 offers everything you need to create your perfect rig.

Check out the full dedicated blog to read about all the changes and updates coming with this update here!

Farm Machinery DLC Update

We’re excited to introduce a new free cargo addition to the Farm Machinery DLC, the Windrower! This essential piece of agricultural equipment is used to gather and align crops into neat rows for drying and harvesting, and now it’s your job to haul it where it’s needed most.

The Windrower will be available on the job market in two color variants: a classic green and a yellow version branded with OWL, one of our in-game farming equipment manufacturers. Designed for lowboy trailers, it’s a wide and impressive load that brings more variety to your agricultural deliveries.

You can find the full details about this update at here.

FlowBelow Painted Parts
We're introducing a visual enhancement for select trucks featuring FlowBelow aerodynamic parts in American Truck Simulator. These drive wheel closeouts, designed to improve fuel efficiency and airflow, now come with the option to be paintable.

This means players can now customize these components to match their truck’s color scheme, creating a more polished and unified appearance. Whether you're aiming for a clean fleet aesthetic or giving your rig a show truck vibe, we’re confident this small update will help you tailor your truck even more to your personal style.

Don’t forget to share your fresh paint jobs with us on our social media channels!

Custom City Intros for New Mexico DLC

With this update, New Mexico has received several new Custom City Intros! These special cutscenes play when a player selects a starting city while creating a new profile.

You’ll now find these intros available for the following cities in New Mexico:

  •     Farmington

  •     Las Cruces

  •     Roswell

  •     Santa Fe

We hope that new players, or those starting afresh, will enjoy these additions, which showcase the area where your journey begins!

Mail UX Redesign
The mail screen has been redesigned to enhance UI, UX, and controller navigation. It features two main sections: a mail list on the left and the mail content on the right, which is now larger for improved readability and easier to scroll through. Mails populate from the top, and when the list exceeds the screen, pagination is used. Users can navigate through emails using the arrow keys or the controller's D-pad, with emails opening instantly on selection. Mail content may include clickable or keybind-accessible embedded links.

Options QoL ImprovementsIn this update, we’ve added a small but useful quality-of-life improvement to the graphics settings menu. You’ll now see example screenshots next to various settings, giving you a better idea of how each option affects the game’s visuals.

Whether you're tweaking things for smoother performance or aiming for the best possible look, these previews should make it easier to find the right balance for your setup.

Map Improvements - "My Location" Hotkey
We are adding a "My Location" hotkey as part of our map improvements. When pressed, it instantly centers the game map on the player's current location. We hope you find this small addition useful on the road!

Change of Steam Achievements
Our team is working around the clock on engine updates, many of which are not visible during regular gameplay. Some of these are visible instantly, such as new light systems, but we also need to work on changes that are not normally visible when you play.

Updating the achievement system gives us foundations that will allow us to make different and new types of achievements, as well as manage existing ones that often rely on different DLCs and regions. As a part of that, we have a new system coming out in 1.55, which we would like to test in open beta.

To ensure that the new code is well tested before release, some small changes were made to existing achievements and their goals to let us see if the changes we make are working smoothly for all of our users.

American Truck Simulator - Tiktak

In December 2023, we released the Kenworth T680 Anniversary Edition. Now, with the upcoming 1.55 update for American Truck Simulator, we will introduce more customization options for this beautiful truck, including new cabins, chassis, interior designs, and more!

The initial release of this truck was done on a super-accelerated schedule as we wanted to bring it to our #BestCommunityEver for Kenworth's 100 years celebration, and we made it happen on time thanks to smooth cooperation with experts from Kenworth. Now you will be able to truly customize this beauty of a truck thanks to the additional work of our vehicle team!

Under the hood, drivers will have even more options, as we are adding seven powerful engine variants from the Cummins X12 and X15 series, and also five new transmission choices to match their driving style.

A massive range of new accessories will come too, giving you the freedom to personalize nearly every aspect of your rig. This includes bumpers in both chrome and painted finishes. Cab extenders will be available for all cabin types, and classic exhausts are being added for the Day Cab and 52" cab. You'll also find chrome detailing for the front grill and side filters, plus two hood versions, short and long, designed to accommodate larger engines.

New physical mirror models will come in both chrome and painted variants, and white fenders will give a fresh look to your setup. For even more customization, you'll be able to add or remove aero kits, chassis skid plates, and deck plates in a variety of styles. Vent-style side windows, removable rear extenders, and three new steering wheel variants will add even more flexibility. And yes, removable sun visors will now be available across all cabs.

And to tie it all together, all paint jobs, including those from DLCs, will now be fully compatible with this truck, giving you even more options to create your perfect ride.

American Truck Simulator - Tiktak

Just ninety minutes outside of Chicago lies the city of Rockford. And today, we would like to tell you more about this beautiful city that our teams are currently working on for the Illinois DLC for American Truck Simulator!

Rockford is often referred to as the City of Gardens, thanks to its 4,000 hectares of parks and public gardens featuring a variety of themes, including Japanese and historic styles. This city is a fantastic destination for tourists, not only because of its beautiful natural surroundings, but also due to its wide range of outdoor activities, vibrant cultural events, diverse food options, and lively markets.

The city is also full of stunning architectural gems, where historic and modern buildings blend beautifully. Our asset and map teams have put together a lot of work to recreate some of the most significant buildings to make this city stand out and make you feel you are really there.

These include a well-known local hotel, a historic theater, several distinctive churches, a college, the Justice Center, Rockford's East Center, both the old and new City Halls, a school, and even a number of public sculptures.

If you're in town looking for cargo to haul, you'll find four depots within the city limits: the road garage, two distinct warehouses, and a chemical oil facility. Just outside Rockford, four more companies are ready to load your trailer, including a wind power plant, an electric substation, a farm, and a quarry. With such a variety of options, there's always plenty of work to choose from!

American Truck Simulator - Tiktak

This past Sunday marked the conclusion of the #CruisingMissouri World of Trucks event, which ran for over two months in celebration of the Missouri DLC release for American Truck Simulator. Now, it's time to officially wrap things up and share the final stats with you!

First and foremost, we would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone in our #BestCommunityEver who participated in #CruisingMissouri, as well as to the incredible team behind this event. We are already excited for what's coming next!

At the start, we set two goals for you. The community objective was to collectively drive 125,000,000 miles by hauling cargo to or from any city in the Show Me State - a milestone you surpassed more than three weeks before the event ended! Altogether, you logged an impressive 151,084,082 miles (243,146,261 kilometers).

The personal goal involved delivering cargo to or from all 12 cities in Missouri, with each job covering at least 100 miles (161 km). In total, you completed 457,465 qualifying deliveries! Congratulations to the 28,991 dedicated truckers who achieved this and unlocked their well-earned rewards: the Beast of Burden ATS paint job, plus the Striking Mule ornament, and the Show-Me Pillow cabin accessories.

If you couldn't fully complete this event, we hope you still enjoyed taking part! You know what they say, it's not about the destination, it's about the journey. American Truck Simulator - London
We're back on the road in Iowa to bring you another look at our upcoming Iowa DLC for American Truck Simulator. This time, we’re focusing on a key industry rooted in the state’s waterways: river ports, which have long served as gateways for trade, transport, and industry. Let’s take a closer look at some of them!

First stop, Dubuque! Located along the upper Mississippi, its port area sits right next to the city’s scenic local marina, creating a unique contrast between commercial industry and public space. With direct links to rail and road, the port here plays a key role in local logistics, offering drivers various cargo contracts to deliver to and pick-up from here.

Further downstream, Davenport stands out for its open riverfront and flood-resilient design. As part of the Quad Cities, its port remains well-connected and active in regional logistics. Today, you’ll find facilities that specialize in handling heavy lift and specialty cargo, as well as historic sites like the 1917-built Freight House, reflecting its longstanding role in river trade. With a blend of industry and scenery, players can expect a variety of job opportunities.

In Burlington, the port has a rich history dating back to 1928, once serving as a key hub for river commerce during the steamboat era. Strategically located along the Mississippi and connected to major rail lines, it played a vital role in moving goods across the region. Today, while the site also functions as a state Welcome Center, its legacy as a logistical link between river and rail remains strong, offering players a glimpse into the deep-rooted transport heritage of the Midwest.

On Iowa’s western edge lies Sioux City, where the Missouri River powers a key logistics hub. The port here connects truck, rail, and river freight, making it one of the most active industrial areas in the state. Historically tied to agriculture and packing, Sioux City’s modern infrastructure keeps goods moving, and gives players a chance to experience a true Midwestern freight gateway.

These river ports highlight just how much Iowa’s waterways continue to influence regional industry. Each offers a different layout, setting, and story, ready for you to explore behind the wheel. Stay tuned for more news from our upcoming Iowa DLC, and we’ll see you on the road!

American Truck Simulator - London

We're always working on new ways to keep things fresh on the road! Today, we're happy to share that in our upcoming 1.55 update for American Truck Simulator, we're bringing a small free update to the Farm Machinery DLC that includes a new cargo!

Say hello to the Windrower! If you’ve ever seen neat rows of cut hay or crops lined up across a field, this is the machine behind that magic. Windrowers are used to cut and gather crops like hay or grains into long, tidy rows called windrows. This process helps the crops dry faster and makes it easier for the next machines, like balers or harvesters, to come in and collect them.

They're big, wide, and built for the fields, but when it’s time to move them, it takes a skilled trucker with a lowboy trailer to get the job done. It'll come in two color variants, there’s a green variant that looks right at home on any farm, and a yellow one that proudly features the logo of OWL, one of our in-game farming equipment brands.

So whether you're hauling a Windrower between farms, or delivering one from the depot, we hope you’ll enjoy this new addition to our DLC. We can’t wait to see your screenshots from the road.

We look forward to seeing you haul this new cargo on the road in the near future! Until then, make sure to keep upto date with all the latest American Truck Simulator news, by following us on X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook & Bluesky. Until next time, keep on truckin’!

American Truck Simulator - Tiktak

We are excited to unveil our next map expansion for American Truck Simulator, which will offer a blend of beautiful nature, vibrant cities, and the joy of the open road. Our teams are currently hard at work on...

Welcome to the Mount Rushmore State! Nestled in the North Central Region of the United States, South Dakota offers a beautiful site for truckers to admire. The state is dominated by peaceful, wide-rolling plains - its eastern region belongs to the Prairie Plains, while the western part forms a portion of the Great Plains. This part of the landscape transitions from flat river valleys in the east to plateaus, buttes, and a canyon-scarred terrain in the west.

And don't miss the rugged beauty of the Badlands - one of the world's richest fossil beds and a haven for diverse wildlife. This striking landscape draws visitors from around the globe. Just west of the Badlands lies the breathtaking Black Hills, a dome-shaped mountain region filled with dense forests and picturesque scenic byways.

Whether you're drawn to big-city hustle or the charm of small towns, South Dakota offers unforgettable sights at every turn. You can look forward to delivering in and out of Sioux Falls, Mitchell, and Rapid City, while also passing through beautiful settlements such as Deadwood, Wall, and Sturgis, to name just a few. Right at the heart of the state lies its capital, Pierre, located on the banks of the Missouri River. Though modest in size, Pierre boasts some impressive architectural gems - well worth a stop on your route!

The Mount Rushmore State is mostly agricultural, with corn, alfalfa, rye, flaxseed, wheat, and soybeans being the most common crops grown there, but forestry and mining also play significant roles, meaning you can expect to haul a diverse range of cargo. Two major interstates make traversing the state efficient: Interstate 90 runs east to west across the southern half, while Interstate 29 cuts north to south through the eastern region, making sure your deliveries stay on schedule.

Home to nine Native American tribes, South Dakota offers a unique opportunity to experience a rich diversity of Indigenous cultures. The state's natural beauty is equally unforgettable - from bison and other wildlife roaming the west, to the striking rock formations, expansive forests, and sweeping prairies that stretch across the landscape. In the central and eastern regions, vast fields of golden sunflowers paint the countryside each summer. At the heart of it all flows the mighty Missouri River, which cuts the state in two and stands as the second-longest river in North America. Whether you're drawn to serene wilderness, vibrant city life, or the simple joys of the open road, South Dakota truly offers something for everyone.

If you are excited to be trucking in this state, make sure to add it to your Steam wishlist! Remember to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, InstagramBluesky, and YouTube for all the latest news from this map expansion and American Truck Simulator, or sign up for our newsletter to stay informed. Until next time, we wish you happy travels!

American Truck Simulator - London
As part of the upcoming 1.55 update for American Truck Simulator, we’re excited to introduce a range of improvements and new customization options for the Freightliner Cascadia 2024. This includes new accessories, updated interior and exterior options, and more. Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

Several new accessories have been added to allow for even greater personalization of your Freightliner Cascadia. This includes a paintable airdam, a vertical exhaust system, chrome side mirrors and filter fins, and a paintable sunvisor for the sleeper variant. We hope these additions make it easier than ever to fine-tune your Cascadia’s appearance to match your style or virtual trucking company's branding!

Inside the cabin, we've added a new black interior variant, while also updating the existing tan and grey versions. Drivers will also have the choice between a traditional gauge cluster on their dashboard or a modern digital dashboard layout. With these additions, each sleeper configuration now includes six unique interior variants, giving you more options for your cabin.

On the exterior, we’ve worked on improving the sleeper's details as well. The 72" sleeper side walls have been remodelled, particularly around the window area. Blind spot sensors have also received an update, allowing them to function correctly with both the traditional A-pillar sensors and the digital mirror displays. The camera arms have also been adjusted, with their marker lights now functioning solely as turn indicators, reflecting real-world behavior more accurately.

Alongside these updates, we’ve made several under-the-hood improvements, including various bug fixes and animation updates to enhance your overall driving experience with the Freightliner Cascadia.

We’d like to thank our partners at Freightliner for their ongoing cooperation. We hope you enjoy the refreshed Freightliner Cascadia experience, and we look forward to seeing how you make it your own when 1.55 update rolls out. Until next time, keep on truckin'!

American Truck Simulator - Tiktak
Visit the bustling cities of Louisiana on your trucking adventures! Today, we bring you a preview of selected urban hubs that our map designers are recreating for the Pelican State in American Truck Simulator, so if you are excited for the Louisiana DLC, keep on reading!

Lafayette
This vibrant city nestled along the Vermilion River in south-central Louisiana has deep roots. First settled in 1763, it began as the village of Vermilionville before being renamed in 1884 for the French general, the Marquis de Lafayette. As truckers drive through this historic town, they'll pass by beautifully recreated landmarks like the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, First Presbyterian Church, Episcopal Church of the Ascension, and Lafayette Middle School - each one a tribute to the city's spirit and architectural legacy.

Houma
If you venture southwest from New Orleans along Route 90, you will come across the seat of Terrebonne Parish, the city of Houma. In its early days, the settlement developed as a fishing, fur, and shrimp port. Now it is known as a centre for seafood and lumber products. Our talented assets and map teams recreated some architectural gems there, too, such as the Terrebonne Parish Library, the Hancock Whitney Bank, and the Terrebonne Parish Government Office.

Monroe
In the northeast corner of the Pelican State, truckers will find themselves delivering cargo to and from Monroe, a key hub of manufacturing and commerce for the surrounding rural parishes and the 9th largest city in Louisiana. Along the way, keep an eye out for notable architecture like the beautiful First Baptist Church and the vibrant campus of the University of Louisiana, a hotspot for education in the region.

Natchitoches
Rolling into Natchitoches, the oldest permanent settlement in the Louisiana Purchase, truckers find themselves cruising through a town steeped in history and Southern charm. It is nestled along the scenic Cane River Lake in west-central Louisiana. Drivers passing through can spot standout local landmarks like the Central High School and the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts.

We hope you have enjoyed today's blog! Remember to add the Louisiana DLC to your Steam Wishlist and don't forget to give our X/Twitter, Instagram, FacebookBluesky, and TikTok a follow as you'll receive updates about our games straight to your feed, or subscribe to our newsletter to stay informed! We look forward to sharing more with you in the future.
