We will have an extended downtime for ESO server maintenance today (October 8), beginning at 9am PDT (UTC -7). But worry not, you can still play Age of Empires III on our beta servers!

Join us for an AOE3 beta server test, play a few games, and chat with me in game to find out more about the beta.

If you’re participating in the beta servers and would like to provide some feedback, please submit a ticket at http://ageofempiresonline.com/en/ticket/age3.

To join in, just go to http://agecommunity.com/support.aspx and install the Beta MSI linked at the top of the page, and you’re good to go! Just launch the game and you’ll connect to the beta servers.

When you’re done playing and want to go back to the main production servers, just uninstall the AOE3 Network Redirector PPE from the Programs section of your Control Panel.

Caveat on Accounts and Ranks:
Our beta server is using a backup of the database taken from approximately 6 months ago. If you purchased the game recently and made an account, it may not exist on the beta servers. Feel free to create a new one for the beta purposes, it’s just temporary. Password resets in the beta should function if you forgot what your old password was. Likewise, ranks are all going to appear outdated as well. Please don’t worry about the specific stats for the duration of the beta test.

For the past year or so, we've held a weekly Age of Empires Online event dubbed the 'Community Challenge' on our Twitch channel {LINK REMOVED}(twitch.tv/ageofempires). This stream consists of members from the community duking it out live while being observed and casted by me and/or special guests.

I've never held one for AoE III since my game knowledge is very limited and that'd make for some horrific casting, but ZutaZuta has been kind enough to agree to host an AoE III Community Challenge every week at 1 PM PDT (GMT-7)!

Logistically, it'll work like this: every Thursday, I'll post a sign-up thread in the General Discussion section of these forums, titled something along the lines of 'Community Challenge x/x Sign-Ups'. Simply post in the thread if you'd like to participate.

On Tuesdays, I'll post another thread with the selected participants. If you're selected to play, make sure you're in-game and in the stream chat when the event starts.

These challenges will be for Asian Dynasties players only, at least for now.
