Weekly Nubby News #10 is here! Can't believe I've already done 10 of these.

In this edition of WNN I'm going to be giving you a preview of some unlockable cosmetic items that will be available in V1.4. Though I'll start by announcing vinegart's nubby parody song contest championship event that will be live today at 11am Pacific Standard Time.

Our very own Vinegart (composer of nubby soundtrack) has been holding a tournament in the nubby community for the past month or so where people voted on popular songs they wanted to see him do a nubby parody of. We've come to the final round of the tournament and instead of doing a vote, we're going to have representatives for each song battle it out in WWE on the PS2 live on stream! Whichever song beats the other up the best will be elected as the song that vinegart will make a nubby cover of (I will post a link to the winning parody in a WNN post whenever it's ready).

Nubby cosmetics preview:
==========


Something that a lot of people are looking forward to in the upcoming V1.4 update are unlockable cosmetics. The majority of the cosmetics are going to be skins for nubby that you can use in-game. I was also thinking of doing alternative cursor cosmetics like having a lobster claw instead of the normal hand cursor for example.

I have significantly more work done on the nubby skins than the cursor cosmetics, so I'll share some of those with you today! This list is not fully comprehensive and there are quite a few more that I'm not showing right now.

If you were in the community back in November-December 2024 you will be familiar with these, because these were chosen as the winners of the two nubby reskin contests back then. These are all community made, and I'm excited to finally have these in the game!


First on the list, meet the rebellious, yet sensitive "Punk Nubby" by Rusty!


The future of nubtronics is upon us - take a gander at "Cyborg Nubby" by GoozBooz!



Next up we have a dashing gentleman by the name of "Old Chap Nubby", our victorian era nub by Jahck!



Next, the critically endangered aquatic species, Nubbicus Aquaticus, was captured and brought to the factory for classified reasons. Meet "Blubby" by ianokay




Getting darker - feast your eyes on this lovely monstrosity by sirpodzol (who also created the steam page art for nubby). Meet "Teratoma Nubby"!







Last but not least, this nub is made with 100% real Wisconsin cheese! Meet "Cheesy Nubby" by YcleptYC!

We're continuing to come closer to the finish line for nubby mobile and I'm getting really excited for that. No specific release date as of now, but our first round of closed playtesting was recently concluded - so we're getting there.

V1.4 still has a lot of work left to be done on it and I admit that I (once again) underestimated how much time this would take. With my priorities split 50/50 on the mobile version of nubby and V1.4, it will be some time yet before we see our nubby skins and all the other stuff in game for V1.4, so thank you for your patience!

Hello everyone, we have updated the game demo, and the details are as follows.

💻Balance Adjustments:

· Crystals can no longer ascend to non-existent levels.

· Unlock Web now uses total unlock count instead of achievements, with updated node visuals.

· Redesigned Unlock Web layout to reduce mid-game clicking frequency.

· Increased upgrade costs in mid-to-late game stages.

· Slightly increased the value growth rate of plants.

· Nerfed the stats of Magic Cactus.

· Enhanced the effect of Quake Succulent.

· Crystal level of Chorus Daffodil increased to Lv.5.

· Improved production interval of Giant Mushroom.

· Significantly raised the price of all Radishes and improved market volatility algorithm.

· Improved Four-Leaf Clover's transfer efficiency and reduced its price.

· Hive has been greatly empowered.

🎮Quality of Life:

· Major performance improvements across the game.

· Additional tutorial guides added.

· Fixed issue where settings could reset under certain conditions.

· Improved logic in the Fish Encyclopedia panel.

· Fixed bug causing Full-Heart Residents to duplicate.

· Shrubs now disperse naturally when the island expands.

· Improved fish spot refresh logic.

· Fixed bug preventing Crystal Cluster Flower from functioning.

· Fixed issue where Resident Boats wouldn’t disappear.

Tiny Glade - h3r2tic
Howdy! We continue monitoring the game's stability and your bug reports following the launch of the stairs update, and we've noticed a few reports of stairs climbing invisible terrain upon loading a glade. We saw this during the beta, and thought we'd fixed it, but it still managed to sneak through. This patch should finally resolve it.



We've also noticed that owners of GeForce RTX 50-series GPUs are experiencing crashes when launching the game. Those crashes are linked to the just-released 580.88 driver. We're in contact with NVIDIA about the issue, and we've added an in-game warning with a link to download the 577.00 driver, which works fine. Thanks for all the crash reports and troubleshooting help!



BTW, a few folks are experiencing crashes on startup due to Steam incorrectly deploying the patch. There's a handful of old files that it failed to delete, and Tiny Glade crashes while trying to load them. Our crash reporter detects and highlights this problem - if you see it complaining about problems with the game's installation, try the steps it outlines, or reinstall the game, so that the old files get deleted.

  • 🔥 Add warning for broken NVIDIA driver 580.88 on RTX 50-series cards
  • 🔥 Add additional resolution advice to the crash reporter for a few external factors that mess with the game

Balance

  • Base player movement speed has been reduced 800>750

  • The "Bleed" effect applied by shell weapons now prevents collecting health packs

  • Reduced Capacitor Rifle recharge time

  • Reduced Heavy Handguns primary fire projectile size

  • Increased Akimbo SMGs primary fire damage and melee range slightly

Features

  • Contest Mode has been expanded with "Missions" that reward additional Points

    • In the setup phase for rounds that do not have a Gold Event, players will be offered one of three Missions to choose from.

    • Each Mission has one Advanced and one Basic Objective.

    • The Advanced objective can be completed only once, and disappears after the round concludes regardless of whether it was completed.

    • Basic Objectives are kept between rounds, and are infinitely repeatable.

    • Complete Missions to earn Points on top of the match placement completion reward.

    • Missions are not active during rounds with Gold Events.

  • Added a round sequence overview widget to the Contest lobby

  • Added bot behavior for Gold events

100 Cats Lost In World Find & Color - TwoCatsGames
Updates / Improvements

Fixed an issue on the Rio map: bunting flags that were completely covered by cats are now clearly indicated when uncolored, so players can spot them without random clicks or needing a hint.

Improved visibility for overlapped/uncolored world map elements to reduce confusion.
