What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are entering early access to optimize PsyShift for a large range of hardware, collect feedback, and improve the game overall based on your reception.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“One to two months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We would like to implement workshop integration, online leader boards, a full Steam card system, as well as improving the level collection.

As PsyShift gets more and more polished, expanding the game to include dozens of levels and unique challenges would be our highest priority.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Most of the mechanics are finalized, such as preemptive jumping (Automatically jumps for you if you mistime your jump action by a few dozen milliseconds), phasing, and distance teleportation.

For a list of our current features, please refer to the "About" section.

Some mechanics are unavailable, but plan to be added soon. The following are not complete:
  • Corner drifting
  • Velocity matching on teleport
Following this, leader boards are currently not active, as well as random level play.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to increase the price after leaving early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We love to hear community feedback. Bugs, features, suggestions, critique, anything.
Community suggestions, if well received, may be included in PsyShift. We strive to collect and process all information the community has for us, including removal of bad mechanics, addition of player ideas, and overall improving PsyShift.

Let your voice be heard!
Contact us via the Steam community discussions for the fastest response, but if the matter is urgent, feel free to contact us via email at PsyShiftContact@gmail.com”

Pre-Release Patch Notes (0.1.2)

Hello all. Here's the latest changelog.

Bugs fixed:
  • If no save is detected, the ball defaults to a reddish-green tint, instead of the hard black it used to default to.
  • The end goal now properly saves the best time. I swear I fixed it this time.
  • Random level loading should now work properly.

Frameworks implemented:
  • Hats! (Still no inventory yet. We're working on it)

Pre-Release Patch Notes (0.1.1)

Bugs fixed since previous version:
  • Saving/ Loading of best map times now properly saves the time. I forgot to link the output of the load operation to the on-screen output.
  • Serenity has been expanded to it's final (Or close enough) version.
  • Removed the glass wall in Serenity. Nothing is holding you back now.
  • Updated the intro video to reflect the UE4 credits
  • Small gaps have been addressed in the level
  • A small bug that resulted in a memory leak has been patched.
  • Forgot to make the build go live. My bad. You can now download the latest version (Beta testers only)

Bugs fixed that were unknown:
  • Removed some testing levels from the build. Size should be a little bit smaller now.
  • Fixed the lightmap distancing, so shadows don't pop in as badly anymore while running the game in low-medium settings
  • Fixed 4K output of UI. UI now anchors correctly.
  • Fixed sound missing from levels (Probably. It's sporadic at worst)

Features added or in production:
  • Added inventory framework. Again.
  • Added a bowling pin hat for those of you that can find the hidden bowling level.
  • Added testing framework for online leaderboards. This may take some time to come fully into effect though.

Thanks for reading all. Leave your feedback! We love to hear from you.
