What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“2084 emerged from an internal 72 hour-long game jam organised by Feardemic with participation of some of the members of the teams behind horror classic Layers of Fear, and critically acclaimed cyberpunk horror >observer_

We loved the result so much we decided to share the prototype with the community as soon as possible, and then use the feedback you provide to create a definitive cyberpunk FPS that we all would love to experience.

This is just the beginning of the journey for all of us and we’re dedicated to working with you, the community, to deliver an outstanding game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We’re estimating that it’ll take between 16 and 24 months until the full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is just a starting point in the development cycle of the complete game. We have a lot of ideas but at the same time we want to involve the community to decide on the game’s features and future content.

We're planning to communicate with the community to create a roadmap of upcoming features and content but right now our vision of the full release (which may change in the future) includes:

- New weapons
- More unique enemy types
- New hacking scenarios that impact combat
- Longer and more satisfying gameplay
- Better tutorial
- Depending on community feedback we will either focus more on the story mode or further development of the endless mode
- Performance and bug fixes

We also have a few brave ideas for new game modes but right now we are not ready to discuss them. As we said, this is just the beginning of the 2084 journey.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version should be treated as an advanced prototype of what we would like to build in the future. That being said, even at this early stage we consider the game to be fully playable with both game modes fully functional. In other words, the game represents close-to-final visual fidelity and is fun to play, but at the moment it is a bit light on content, and does have some bugs and performance issues.

The Early Access version contains everything that is listed under the "About This" section of the game description. It IS a fully playable game and our bet is that it's much more than you'd normally expect from an Early Access game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. 2084 will be available for a cheaper price during Early Access with the intent to raise the price at full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“By releasing the prototype in Early Access we're planning to gather community feedback, discuss ideas for new features as well as the direction of the game. We believe that community driven development is in the game’s DNA - it was born as a highly collaborative and experimental project and we want to keep it that way.”

About This Game

The year is 2084…and you’re experiencing it from a new and thrilling perspective. 2084 is a fast-paced First-Person Shooter with hacking mechanics. Battle your way through hordes of enemies, hack their minds to gain advantage on the battlefield, and immerse yourself in a riveting short story set in a grim cyberpunk landscape.

Key Features:

Action Packed FPS with Hacking Mechanics
Battle your way through hordes of enemies and face multiple bosses. Discover the best strategy for each encounter by hacking elements of the environment as well as some of your enemies.

Two Game Modes: Story and Endless
Experience a Nano-Phage outbreak simulation gone wrong in the intense single player mini-campaign, or test your skills in the fiercely unforgiving endless mode.

Cyberpunk Setting
Experience a dark dystopian world where drugs, Virtual Reality and neural implants are the bread and butter of every citizen.

Community Driven Development
2084 was born out of a fun project from an internal 72 hour-long Game Jam. We loved what we created after it ended and thought you might like it too. We have a lot more coming in the upcoming weeks, and we want you to be a part of this journey we’re about to embark on.
