Why Early Access?

“The ::Callback project started in April 2018 with the conception phase, then we started the development for presenting it in different events.
We know that the game is far from finished and that there's a lot of work to do until being able to deliver the experience we want to offer you, nonetheless, it seems to us just enough so you can start enjoying our game.

Indeed the Early Access will allow you to support us and also but most importantly, the opportunity to create a community around the game. We believe that a competitive party-game needs to be created in a tight link with its community so it can reach a good quality level. Your feedback will be incredibly useful for balancing and adding content to our game.

In sum, you'll be able to benefit from the game throughout its development and your opinion will allow us to improve it every time !”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“At this very moment, we don't know unfortunately how much it will take for the development to be finished, this will depend on several factors (notably if we are going to dive into online options, matchmaking, etc.)

But the core gameplay will be done this year.

However, we would love to publish it in 2019 and not later.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Final version will have several +features :

Expected:
- A big enhancing on the visual aspect of the game
- A more detailed universe, with some lore
- Different Arenas with unique effects (mobile obstacles, zones to be avoided, interactive elements)
- Additional Game Modes (Air-hockey where you need to send the targets in goals, or even Dodge Ball)
- Music for each Arena
- Evolving music during the match according to the score intensity !
- SOLO mode with High Scores
- Training mode with tips and strategies for the game

Optional:
- Online mode
- Gamer profile system with statistics
- Match making system”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“It's a stable version with the basics : DeathMatch and Team DeathMatch
It only works on LOCAL in the same screen.

You can play from 2 to 4 players (no SOLO mode at the moment), with a controller each. There are 4 aremas (circular, oval, rectangular and void), the first 3 with normal collisions while the last will let every target go throught any direction on the screen !

You have access to a custom match menu, with the choice of : game mode, arena, the number of targets (1,2,3,5 or 7), SCORE mode (first reaching the score wins ), LIFE mode (last survivor wins) and the number of score and lives to set.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes we think that the players need to pay the price of the game at its actual state. In that respect as we add content for ::Callback, price will go higher, always adapting to what the game offers. So price will increase little by little during the Early Access until it reaches its final value for the release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community is the heart of the game !

Indeed with the support of the Steam forum, you can share us the bugs / problems you might find so we can fix them as quickly as possible. At the same time you can always give us suggestions, feedback or ideas, we'll read them and treat them for improving the game.

::CallBack is launching Early Access on Steam !



Oh how this is great for us...! We worked hard on the last feedbacks players gave us, we upgraded graphics, gameplay balance, we added a better menu with tutorials... It's been intense, but it was great !

Thank you all for helping us getting this far, but know that it is only the beginning for ::CallBack, we wanna bring salty fun to your couch and that is exactly what we're gonna do !

About This Game

Welcome to the arena!


Take control of a boosted ship and throw the projectiles at high speed to your oponents in this competitive local arcade party-game!

::CallBack is inspired on the tables of Air-Hockey ( a classic game in the arcade rooms where you need to send disks to the opponent goal), where the objective is to crush your opponents' avatar! Move around and use your boosts to reach or avoid the projectiles, master the art of rebounds and trajectory for reaching your target.

With a variety of arenas and settings it is up to YOU to choose the kind of game that you'll play from 2 to 4 players. Create challenge according to your style, whether if its competitive or casual, thanks to our personalised settings!

Easy to play, hard to master


::CallBack can be learnt easily in a few moments and it can adapt to the player needs : you can choose to set up the target in the same stick as the movement command or you can have it on the second stick for a more technical approach.

Training is key for mastering the subtilities of ::CallBack : whether its the rebounds, movement, dash management (boosts) or the terrain...even the specifics of each arena!

Only perseverance will take you to glory in the Arena!

Some of the actual characteristics in-game:


Move and Aim with two sticks or only one with the Manual or Automatic control modes.

Propel projectiles with your impulsion while aiming.

Dash to avoid attacks or make your own attacks more powerful.

Use your impulsion without aiming to shield-block projectiles.

Our main ambition is to offer ::CallBack and its intense local experience to reach as many people as possible worldwide. The more the community grows, the more the game will have the opportunity to reach other platforms for supporting the Party-Game spirit of the game.
