“We'd like to release as early access to hear your opinion on comfort, ease of use, learning process, educational content and progression of dance moves. Body movement learning is a difficult concept in VR and we could use your help to refine the process!”

“Bachata Virtual will be in early access for about 3-5 months to allow for proper feedback and implementing appropriate changes.”

“The full version will include more interactions with virtual students for practicing moves, haptic feedback on the controllers, and refined animations and educational materials. We're also planning support for Windows Mixed Reality headsets.”

“The Early Access version is ready with limited player/virtual partner interaction. We'd like to hear your feedback on how comfortable and useful it feels before moving forward.
It supports HTC Vive and Oculus Rift + Touch, and has the dance lesson animation content, audio and controls complete.”

Kommer spelet att prissättas annorlunda under och efter Early Access?

“We've set the main basic movements and patterns for bachata in the dance lessons for this current price. However if there's a large demand for more content on the basic lessons we would raise the price gradually to accommodate for further motion capture, teacher salaries, and post processing refinement for VR.”

Hur planerar ni att involvera gemenskapen i er utvecklingsprocess?

“We've seen and played dance games in the past were you might end up with memorized knowledge of a choreography, but nothing you can use in the real world and in real situations. We would like to achieve the opposite, and teach dancing for the real world using virtual tools. We have great teachers, but none of them learned in a virtual environment, so with the help of the community we can explore this new medium and make it effective for everyone.”

No partner? No problem. Our professional teachers will explain how movements translate from your virtual partner to a real world experience. Pause. Slow down. Rewind. Practice. With a level dedicated to dance fundamentals, even those of us with two left feet can learn to check our balance, and get used to dancing in VR, so we can eventually do it in the real world.
