What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We have been lovingly crafting BARDO since early 2017, and we've got to a place where we think we have a really satisfying, highly polished product that the world should get its hands on. But there's so much more we want to accomplish with BARDO, and we want our players to help support and guide that vision.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“When we exit Early Access depends to some extent on the support of our Early Access players like you, but one possible timeline would be before the end of 2018 and the other mid 2019. Nonetheless, we are committed to exiting Early Access having achieved our vision of BARDO as a complete, highly polished, and hugely rewarding VR archery game.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The short term plans for the full version include the addition of Steam achievements, leaderboards, and cloud saves. The possibilities for BARDO after that are endless, and may depend on the support of our Early Access players. We have grand plans for an expanded story campaign featuring brand new levels and enemies. We want to explore and further flesh out intriguing Tibetan Buddhist themes. And, last but not least, we'd love to experiment with new game modes and mechanics.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We believe we are bringing BARDO to Early Access in a much more complete state than typical Early Access titles. BARDO, in its current state, is a fully playable and highly polished VR action archery game featuring five exciting and distinct enemy types, two awe-inspiring environments, and, to top it all off, a boss battle of truly epic proportions. We've also worked extremely hard to iron out known bugs before our Early Access players play the game, so you can expect a polished, largely bug-free experience! 🤞”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We may raise the price if and when we add significant content updates and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We believe BARDO has the potential to gather a cult following, and we want to do everything we can to cultivate a community of passionate fans united around our game. A huge part of that is the value we place on community feedback and how, in interacting with and addressing feedback, we empower the community to help shape the future of BARDO. We strongly encourage the community to engage with us on the Steam Discussion board or via email (hello@bardo.game) and to contribute thoughts and commentary on the current state of the game, from mechanics to visuals to difficulty. Please feel free to send us information concerning bugs and issues, and we'd hugely appreciate any ideas and suggestions for improvements and additions you'd like to see in a future version of BARDO.”
