What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I'm a game design hobbyist and this is my first public release, I want to make short, cheap, and fun games, but even in a game with small scope I know there will be a lot of things to improve on and bugs to smooth out. I want to be open to people's suggestions, get feedback on issues, and learn more about keeping a game and community up and running.

Some things will might not be as good in practice as I thought in theory. So user feedback will be extremely valuable during the Early Access period.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

The game has been mostly dormant since its release (except for a Christmas update). The plan is to finish the experimental version of the game (available to all players via the betas option on steam) and replace the current 2019 version with it. I expect to have this completed during 2025.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The release version of the game will include online co-op multiplayer via steam, improved graphics, game play enhancements (such as real wave based gameplay, upgrades, and level randomization) and quality of life features such as key remapping and better graphics options.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“In the current version of the game, all of the originally intended features are present. There are 5 levels to unlock, a tutorial, 8 weapons (not counting secondary weapons), and a working kill-based unlock progression system. There are a few customization options for enemy NPCs as well, including hats and face options. The current release version of the game DOES NOT include any of the in development features of the experimental branch, such as online multiplayer.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of the game will raise slightly after releasing from Early Access to reflect the additional features such as multiplayer.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“A new public discord community will be created when the experimental version is closer to release. I'll also be monitoring the built in steam community as well.”

About This Game

Murderwave: Digital Slaughter is about the simple satisfaction that comes from using fun weapons to gun down, blow up, and otherwise murder tons of enemies. Intended to be more relaxing and addictive than challenging, you'll still have to keep moving to keep the fight going, keeping your energy up and looking out for MurderZones to give you unlimited firepower. Kick back, relax, and blow some heads off, or better yet, electrocute 20 enemies at once. Unlock new weapons, levels, and enemies to fight as your MurderCount rises.

..Or maybe rocket jump off a corpse in mid air? Get out there and expose some rib cages, have fun!
