What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“For me, transparency is really important, that's why I choose to let people try my game with a free demo, but I wanted to push things a little bit further with the early access.

In my opinion it's the best way to prove that the project advance and to let you have influence on it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“If the sales allow me to work on it full time, the game should be complete on the end of summer 2019.
Any change to this plan will be announced. I intend to be really open on how things go.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“- the main difference will be graphical: For now the base building part of the game is in 2D but in the final stages it will become 3D. Much more like in "evil genius" or "banished".

- there will be a scientific research programme that I want to be like a "simulation" in this goal, the player will not know exactly the time that inventing something will take (I always found ridiculous the "give me 50 food and 20 wood, and I'll invent the bow" part in most games.) So in my game, you set 2 axes of research (for example "armament" and "energy" and one day your scientist may invent a laser rifle.

- The diplomatic part: each faction will be fractioned in many small camps, so even of two camp of faction 1 will have similarities, they will still be different, an IA will simulate each one, so the diplomacy is more like a "web" than "camp 1, camp 2, etc"

-each exploration team's member will be generated with it's own strength and weakness. Therefore you'll be able to optimize each team. But Don't worry, I want my "normal" difficulty to be as in Kerbal space program, aka, "you can do mistake and it will still work, but optimize, and it's going to work perfectly!"

-To ensure a maximum re-playability, each world will be generated at the start of a game, ensuring that each game is unique.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

Base Management:
  • You can build various constructions
  • Buildings get damage over time and must be repaired.
  • Buildings need energy otherwise they stop working.
  • Buildings can produce various resources (Energy, Food, others)

Research:
  • Should be coming in January 2019.

Interventions/Expeditions:
  • You can recruit employee
  • Form teams
  • It's possible to send military operations on Earth.

Diplomacy:
  • The only faction open to diplomacy for now is the council...
  • ...But others factions are managed.
  • You can order ressources from friendly factions.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“At first the game will be available at 50% of it's final price (around 15€) and then the price will go up when more content will be added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“For me the main thing is transparency, I want you to know where I am, what I do and how. So that mean I'll publish very often on what I work and tell you what is happening, either in good or bad ^^

Of course I also want to involve the community in the development process by discussing with you. forums, discords, IRL if possible etc.”

About This Game

The Universe

What if the Norse Mythology was build around true history ? What if the Earth truly was Midgard ? A world among others ? And what if the norse mythology was so precise about the Ragarok because it already happened?
That's what a search team of scientifiques found in 2008 during an expedition in the north sea.
And almost immediately a secret society named "the shadow council" took possession of all the artefacts found.
A few years later you have been recruited to run a top secret project: The Bifrost Project.

A Base Building game

Your first objectif is to build and then manage a secret base. With a synergy system, you'll need to try and experiment to find the optimal pattern depending of your strategy. But the true challenge depend of the only condition of the council: to keep the base secret.
Indeed, even if the council perfectly grasped the potential but you still need to prove it to them before they allow you to break the secrecy.

An Exploration game

The heart of the project is the main artefact found a few years ago: the Bifrost. In great secrecy they repaired it and, with it, it's the 8 other worlds of the north mythology which is opened to you to explore. But the Ragnarök took it's toll. Ruins, devastation, forgotten battlegrounds. It's up to you to discover what really happened.
In this sens you have full liberty : will you send a small team, rapid and stealthy ? Or will you send a strong team? able to protect itself but hard to conceal? And composed of scientist? who will probably found the most interesting artefacts but will also probably die if opposed? or soldiers? who will fend off aggressor but may miss artefacts?

A diplomacy Game

Despite the ragnarok violence, those worlds are not void of life, civilisations survived, rose, fell or prospered. And those civilisations, not all humans, have allies, ennemies, contacts and preferences. How will you interact with this web of relations? As a conqueror? peacefully? Maybe will you even try to stay hidden and only keep a observant role?
