What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Nightmare Pop! will be able in early access thursday, the 5th day of April.
We are still working very hard and have a very clear set of objectives that we must complete to call the game complete.
In order to gather a community and show what we've achieved, the game is coming to early access.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're aiming for under one year, so march 2019 is be our deadline for the moment.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

  • Monster: new monster, and boss mechanics
  • Twitch: more directe interactions, like being able to destroy platform or to move elements of the level around
  • Level: more biomes (forest, Clem's bedroom, the basement) with more distinc mechanics for each one of them
  • Visual: more flashy effects
  • Sound: a unique and hand made soundtrack and more sounds.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We have all main mechanics regarding the little girl and her bubble.

For the content we have one type of level and 5 differents monsters, all having their own specialities.

On the twitch side, viewers can vote and depending on how many bubblegum machines are active, the will have a minimum amount of vote to do.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will raise marginally when we leave early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have been building a community right now on Twitch!
Our team are live streaming developpment every wednesday at 8pm CET!
This allows us to interact with not only the players, but the viewers taking part in the Nightmare Pop! experience. This interaction tells us what people would and won't enjoy in the game!”

About This Game

Nightmare Pop! offers you a unique experience, with a gameplay made to work with twitch where viewers will directly play against you.

You play as Clementine, a little girl trapped in her own nightmares, with the help of your bubble blower survive against monsters and viewers from all around the world.

As Clementin you'll have to survive in three spooyk levels through waves of enemies. You will be equipped with only one weapon, your bubble blower. You can use it to:
  • Blow bubble, building temporary stairs to move vertically and over anything
  • Catch ennemies, you will then have to pop their bubble in order to make them vanish
  • Don't want to die because you fell? Use a bubble as a parachute to slow you down when falling
  • Placed randomly at the start of the game, you'll find bubble gum machines, when you catch it, you'll defend yourself against viewers in differents ways

What can you expect to happen while you are trapped in? You better always be on the move, avoid enemies, activate bubble gum machines, etc
  • You'll fight monsters all the time. They'll come in waves, each time stronger than the last one
  • Depending on what type of negative effect (given by viewers) is on, it may be stopped but you'll just have to find the source of it

And what can you do if you're a viewers? You'll have to vote between 4 choices that are given to you through the twitch chat, you then simple write in what you want to do to hinder the player's advance.
