What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access will grant us the resource of play testers, helping us polish and weed out the more rare pesky bugs which escape our own play-test sessions. It's also no secret that sometimes the play testers have some wild ideas for features, obstacles and challenges. Since these wild ideas are the core of what makes this game engaging, we'd encourage players to share these ideas with us during the course of the development, since core features are much easier to embed into the gameplay early on than when the game is published as a full release. Finally, Early Access will help us raise a budget to cover the more costly expenses meant for the story campaign of the game.

It's known that early access is not meant for everybody. Some folks prefer to buy a more polished version of the game. While others, get excited about offering their help to test the game and report any bugs they find. At the moment, we as developers test our games by ourselves and some of the more fatal bugs aren't found until we all get together to play the game for the sake of playing it. This is why a larger pool of players will help us locate these pesky rare bugs.

In addition, Early Access will allow us to raise the budget for the more expensive resources we'd be hard pressed to fund out of out own pockets. Additional staff (level building and voice acting) and marketing. The resources provided by early access would allow us to hire additional staff, and create and deliver new content faster.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game will exit Early Access when we publish the very first chapter of the Story Campaign. This is planned roughly around the beginning of June 2019. After exiting Early Access, the game will be priced at a regular retail price and further chapters will be developed and released one by one as Downloadable Content.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The biggest and most important part of RTAG rise is the story. The full version of RTAG rise will offer a massive quest based story campaign, following multiple playable protagonists, each with their own story arcs. The campaigns Main and Side quests will take place in "Hub" sections, connected together by sequences of Action, Challenge and Puzzle levels. The Campaign will employ a progression system, challenging the players to complete extra difficult levels, courses and side quests to make progress along the campaign.

RTAG rise will also feature Arcade Modes / Mini Games for competitive or cooperative PvP and "hordes" game types, all revolving around the games core mechanics.

A rewards system will be in place, rewarding players with more playable content, arcade modes and skins. (All in-game) by completing challenges, collecting achievements, and solving puzzles.

The game will have full Co-Op support for local - screen share co-op gameplay. We MAY consider implementing Online Co-Op, however it's important to note that it is not the most important aspect of this game. The story campaign and playable content hold the top most priority in the development.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Early Access offers ~30 Extra Challenging Action levels, available in Solo and Local Co-Op Modes. The game is in Stable, Playable condition. We have done out best to weed out as many bugs as we could during group play test sessions among us - developers, however we're sure that some bugs may still slip through the cracks. The most major offenders have been dealt with as far as out play-test results indicated.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The price if the Base Game (The First Season of the Story Campaign) will increase when we exit Early Access. One of the perks of helping us with Early Access is the entitlement for the first season of the main story at a fraction of the price. Once the first season is published, the game will exit early access and the main campaign will be moved forward in subsequent seasons, published as DLCs.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The richness of the game's content is driven by the variety of obstacles and challenges the campaign and gameplay offer. We will be listening closely to suggestions of the gamers in regards to these aspects of the game. Active play-test members will also earn a place in the end credits of the game.”

About This Game

Early Access brings you the first functional build of the RTAG rise experience. An appetizer of 24 Ultra Challenging Levels to get you started.

Story Driven:

Dive deep into the depths of a deserted facility and uncover the truths behind it's many experiments. You help a group of vulnerable survivors find a way to escape the hostile environment while with each data fragment, you uncover the secrets and stories of the facility's many inhabitants.

Semi Open World

The game is heavily narration driven, and as such, the campaign is divided into main and side quests, scattered all over a semi-open world setting. Some quests can be found by talking to certain characters, others are a bit trickier to obtain. Some quests fade in and out of availability depending on your in-game decisions, actions, pacing and skill. As you unlock new areas, you gain the ability to traverse between them, to come back to finish quests and challenges.

4 Player Local Co-Op:

One of the very first reasons why we decided to create RTAG rise is - rage inducing platforming action... with friends. When the levels are too tough, bring a friend over as the revive mechanic will help you to easier master places where you would have otherwise been sent back to the level start right away. But be weary, as The Benefits of Co-Op also bring their own penalties. RTAG rise also features Co-Op specific stories and side quests.
