What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We have spent more than two years developing many key aspect of the game to be realistic and fun to play but time is passing and if the game is not on sale it only relies on our ideas and forces.

So we are going for early access support because:

- We believe that this game can offer a good opportunity to explore our solar system in a third person game with modern graphics and game style

- With some help from our customers and reviewers we can improve the game with more content and also understanding what are the issues that requires our attention.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“For completing the development of the currently planned features we extimate about 6 to max 12 months but If there are special requests that will come from our customers we will keep updating the game for a longer period.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

We are planning to work on updates also based on players' requests to be released once a week

1) More and improved planets / moons: We will update or improve the current available maps and we will periodically add new maps

2) More building themes:

Building a colony on a rocky planet is different from building in microgravity (for example a Space Station) or over a comet. The final version will implement those additional building modalities

3) More Items to be crafted and resources to be harvested. We are also planning new build parts to be added.

4) Improved perfomances and realism.

5) No tessellation Version for Low end GPUs (this will greatly increase performances due to the fact that tessellation requires a lot of resources to work but requires material without tessellation and this can't be just changed in game but will require a different build to install)

6) We are working on a "space to ground transition" to give more realism when you have to descend on a planet / moon

7) Voxel terrains that can be sculpted and that can be used for different game improvements. This will be implemented shortly after release and will also feature a more accurate remaking of the landscapes.

8) Instanced dungeons for simulating Mars or Moon lava tunnels to explore or other underground zones.

9) Improved AI. At the moment the Artificial Intelligence of the astronauts that joins you to live in your colony is very simple to avoid performances drop and a quick spawn / despawn based on distance.

10) Quest lines to follow. We want to introduce a quest system that can give a more complete game experience asking the player to reach points of interests, or to achieve certain results with colony building. This system will also feature an achievement system.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

IMPORTANT: At the moment the game seriously relies on Tessellation with the landscape so you will need a good / very good Video Card to play at high frame rates.

We will make a non tessellated version to download for low end graphic cards users but this will not be immediately after launch, it will take at least 1 or 2 months.

The game system is currently ready and it's possible to build a basic colony, harvest resources, drive vehicles and explore the maps

Current game maps, already playable are:

-Mars
-The Moon
-Titan
-Io
-Pluto

Other maps will be added later for reducing the initial space required and download times.

We are also planning to create maps basing on users requests.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually increase the price if new features of particular interest are added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Yes, we definitely need to involve the Community in our development process for requests they have (for instances if you want a particular comet or asteroid to be developed) but also for knowing what requires our attention to be solved quickly.

We also plan to open a forum for hints on this game as soon as possible.”
