Releasing this game as Early Access gets the ball rolling, allows more resources to be allocated to the project sooner, and most importantly, maximizes the opportunity to gather valuable insight from the community earlier in the development process, to help the game reach its full potential.”

“Depending on how quickly things go, it could be anywhere from 1 to 3 years to develop the core gameplay mechanics and features. Things like additional ship modules, points of interest, enemies, and loot variety may be added throughout Early Access and after Full Release, in an effort to produce new and interesting content on an ongoing basis.”

“The game will be switched over to Full Release state when all the core gameplay features have been implemented and are in line with what was planned for the game, from a high level design perspective. However, even after Full Release, additional content like ship modules, points of interest, enemies, and loot variety may still be added on an ongoing basis.”

“Price may change after Early Access.

There may also be additional paid content in the form of purely aesthetic content (audio/visual theme packs, skins, etc.). These would be designed with aim of NOT having any effect on game mechanics / stats / or overall balance.”

“Discord is being used as a primary forum for communication about the product, announcing updates, and affording a space for feedback and critical discussion.

Direct communication is a valuable source of feedback, but in order to ensure the widest, fairest, and most objective representation of where the community stands, regular polls and/or surveys may also be used to gather feedback.

These results can be used to prioritize the development of certain features and content types, improve the balance of combat mechanics, and to make sure the game is generally moving in a direction that the community enjoys.”
