Why Early Access?

“We'd like to start off by mentioning that we're a two man team both with fulltime jobs but, we're super dedicated to getting this game to its full potential! So please do give us your full honest constructive feedback and your patience when it comes to these bugs.

We have chosen Early Access as a way to develop and open up to an avid community. We believe that communicating with the players and creating a discussion regarding Star Shredders development, will help us bring the best out in this project. We want to work alongside everyone, listen to the feedback, suggestions and ideas in order to allow this game to flourish.

We want to deliver a story driven experience using a classic and retro gameplay experience. Each level will act as an "Episode" where players get to discover more of the unfolding story and explore the vivid worlds through challenging gameplay.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“At the current pace of development, we expect STAR SHREDDERS to be in Early Access for just under 3 years. However, after launch we hope to gain more momentum and this will mean a faster turnaround. We are currently working to get the game out of Early Access from late 2021.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We envision the final version of Star Shredders to have a complete campaign mode with all levels included. Players will be able to select any level that they want to play once they have completed the campaign mode. We plan to have 9 episodes/levels, each adding to the story. With Steam leaderboards integrated for additional replay value.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, we have the first episode completed in terms of story and gameplay. This offers around 15 to 20 minutes worth of play time, with a single play through.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes the price will steadily increase as when we progress out of Early Access. However, we won't be increasing the price drastically. We want to offer players a fair and justified price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“One of the ways we wish to engage with the community is through the Steam discussion boards that we’ll be creating. All constructive feedback will be treated as valuable. We want everybody to have their say. We will also start streaming our development and testing sessions through Twitch.

Secondly, we will also be using a specific email address to receive feedback and suggestions.

We will also be using social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Discord to engage with the community.”
