What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game is ready and through early access I can receive feedback to get an idea of what path the game should take now.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It should leave early access when there's enough content and features to say that it's a finished game. If everything goes well, I predict 6-8 months of development.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I'd like to add more content, like more environments and cars to choose from, improved visuals, gameplay and of course bug fixes. Workshop support would be a nice addition too.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“So far the game is fully playable, with most audio file formats supported (mp3, wav, xm, mod, s3m, it) , YouTube video streaming and dynamic gameplay.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will most likely increase a bit after leaving Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will be taking feedback from the players and improve/change/add things accordingly.”

  • Tweaked and improved the Forest environment
  • Optimized and enabled "Best reflections" setting for the Forest environment
  • Improved multiplayer collisions

  • Optimizations (tweaked quality settings, kept bloom effect only in the Neon Roads environment, fixed the rain dropping frame rate significantly, etc)

Planned for next update:
  • Finish the Getaway mode
  • Create proper multiplayer modes
  • Improve track generation
  • Improve drifting
  • If needed, do more optimizations

So I still didn't really take the break I mentioned in the previous post, as I've recently finished preparing a new release on Steam (not Early Access). Though I did take a break from ADN to come back with more ideas on how this game could be finished.

I've noticed, that the game's performance isn't consistent, the frame rate would drop a lot in the Forest and Retro World environments. Since bad performance is not acceptable in VR, I've fixed these problems (to a point where it runs perfectly on my system on max settings) with this update.

Now, the current gameplay works well, but it could be better. I'm trying to imagine, what could make this game worth to come back to play more and I feel like proper, fun multiplayer would do wonders. I'd also like to improve singleplayer while I'm at it too.

I think I'll take my time with the next update, as I'd like to do everything properly and make it fun.
