« The game itself is a procedural platform that supports random generation of exploration areas, monsters, and equipment. The desire for early release stems from a need to get customer input on future content, and to demo our Realm Foundry VR Engine. Even at this early stage Fadeholm is a fun, fully playable, engaging experience. Getting this in front of customers sooner allows us to get feedback earlier while still providing a viable product at all stages. »

Pendant combien de temps environ ce jeu sera-t-il en accès anticipé ?

« Our EA begins with Upper Fadeholm, and finishes with Lower Fadeholm. These two dungeon adventures make up Chapter 1.
We are planning full release of Chapter 1 in late Fall of 2019. We also have plans to release additional chapters every 4-6 months. Our goal for the first version of Fadeholm is to release a total of 3 chapters, each with its own unique environment, monsters, and challenges. »

« - Addition of Lower Fadeholm - a sprawling and deeper dungeon that will bring out more of the storyline of the Fade as well as additional challenges.
-Support for Oculus.
-Ranged weapons and magical abilities
-Increased variation in melee weapons, to include two handed versions
- Additional melee mechanics including Cleaving, Parry, and Knockback
-Additional ranged Magical Abilities including Missiles, Slowing, Freezing, and AOE damage types
-Additional armor types and locations
-Item identification / recharging system
-Many more creatures each with different combat abilities and strategies
-Additional ‘themed’ rooms including some that require puzzle solving.
-Random generation of traps at various locations throughout the dungeon.
-Provisions for additional player skill sets to combat the increased difficulty and challenges of the Lower Fadeholm. »

« Game is in a very stable Beta. All current features working.
Basic inventory system with waist and shoulder storage.
Melee weapon combat, which supports dual weapon/shield use.
6 basic creature types each of which have multiple variations in weaponry, behavior and tactics.
Hundreds of assorted weapons, shields, helmets, potions, and food items all generated via the Realm Foundry engine with random qualities, properties, and magical effects.
Upper FadeHolm Dungeon - Procedural generated dungeon which can range between 3 to 10 levels (player configurable depth) ending in a Boss level.
Save Game support, to include multiple ‘users’ per Steam account (not multi-player).
LeaderBoard support for local HighScores based on the seed used (So you can have a different high score for every seed).
Steam Leaderboards support for 12 selected Challenge Seeds and a special Steam Leaderboard only for Randomly Chosen Seeds. »

« Plans are for final release to be anywhere between 1.5-2 times the price of early access, with early access participants being grandfathered in. »

« Our game engine, RealmFoundry, enables us to quickly implement new content and adjust game difficulty. We are looking forward to community input to help steer the direction of the game. Anything from new monsters, traps, spells, new regions to explore, to new game mechanics. It is all on the table!

Our platform supports more than the basic dungeon crawl, and hopefully with enough interest we can take it to a multiplayer (think dungeon party) game with outdoor and town encounters. »

Endless exploration and adventure awaits those fearless enough to enter. Survival is only the beginning! Fadeholm is a procedural virtual reality (VR) survival dungeon crawler designed in the same vein as old school Nethack and Rogue. As one of the remaining ‘Fade’, the player is challenged to explore the depths of the ancient catacombs in search of an ancient relic. The Fadeholm is as rich as it is dangerous, with room after room filled with riches and items that will make exploration just a little bit easier. The player must manage hunger,health, and endurance while they search every corner of the dungeon, because while the undead hit hard, a Vorpal Warblade of Fire hits harder.

The first chapter, Upper Fadeholm includes:
  • 3 levels of procedural(reproducible random) generated dungeon, expandable to 8 levels through game settings.
  • Multiple unique monsters, each randomized with their own equipment, tactics, and behaviors.
  • Randomized loot throughout the dungeon.
    • Equipment held and worn by monsters is usable upon their defeat.
    • Items become more powerful and enchanted the deeper the player travels
    • Detailed item inspection system aids in determining the power and abilities of the loot discovered.
  • Intuitive movement system:
    • Touchpad movement (4-axis + controller direction control)
    • Armswing locomotion (4 axis + HMD direction control)
    • Teleport for jumping obstacles and quickly manuvering
    • Player can mix and match modes to both controllers.

  • Interactive inventory system:
    • eight active storage locations
    • over the shoulder and hip slots “hot swappable’ allowing quick exchange of items
    • belt slot provides access to various sized satchels for additional storage.
    • independent shield slots on each arm to allow use of items while still employing a shield in combat.
    • wearable headgear
  • Save Game support:
    • Player can save their adventure at anytime and pick up where they left off later.
    • Supports up to three different ‘Engrams’ (save games with history) to enable more than one person adventuring on a single Steam account.
  • Seed (Dimensional Thread) based generation of content:
    • Controls generation of dungeon, monsters, loot, etc.
    • Each Thread generates a unique game play experience.
    • Share a Thread with a friend and compete on the leaderboards, or just see who can explore the furthest!
  • Leader boards, both local and Steam. Rank yourself against your friends and the community. Each board based upon the specific dungeon (dimensional thread) selected.
