What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“To get input from the community regarding controls, user interface, and possibly piece design.

Please note "4X Space Time Shipyard" is NOT the early access version of the 4x strategy game "4X Space Time" also known as "4XST". 4X Space Time Shipyard is a standalone Hull Designer players are able to create low poly 3d ship models with to use however they see fit.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Early Access date range has been changed and may go a few moths beyond August before 4XST Shipyard is a finished product.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Any additional versions may or may not have a different user interface based on user comments and suggestions.

Next feature to work on is adding actual game play besides building ships. What CWDI GAMES wants to achieve for REAL game play is the following:
After designing a ship hull players can place generic weapons and see how their ship fares while exploring the galaxy. Battle here will not represent how battle or game play will be in "4X Space Time". When this part is complete 4XST Shipyard will be done. This feature is not currently implemented and is in development

In summary as of right now 4XST Shipyard can only be used to create 3d ship hulls AND users can use their own custom textures on hull pieces.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“4X Space Time Shipyard is in beta and does correctly export the ship design as a 3d model in OBJ format with textures.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There will be no change in price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“4X Space Time Shipyard community on STEAM.”

Still Developing... :)

Apologies for the huge delay. There are a lot of things going on right now. Development is continuing. Currently a new 3D modeler is being coded for 4X Space Time Shipyard. I want it to be more fluid and easy to create 3D models.

After the 3D modeler is updated work will begin on the space sim part of 4X Space Time Shipyard. This will be for 4X Space Time Shipyard and will not be a part of the main strategy game 4X Space Time. The goal is after designing a ship hull players will be able to start at a location and go on missions with their ship and load it out with weapons, defenses, tech. That's obviously in the future. Currently as of right now this title 4X Space Time Shipyard is only able to build and export 3d ship models in OBJ format.
