What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early access will allow the game to be adjusted for the community. An additional campaign will be developed during that time.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game will be in early access for a period of up to 6 months.
This will give time for the second campaign to be implemented and any necessary adjustments to be made to the base game.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is not planned to differ very much from the full game in terms of game mechanics or core features. The main difference will be the number of playable levels: Early access has about half the number of levels as planned in the final version.

A new campaign will be added to the game during early access. New weapons and unit types will probably be added for this new campaign, without guarantee of what they will be.

Although all levels have been tested, difficulty will be tweaked with input from the community.

AI will probably be improved in the full version to have more possible behaviors but in accordance with the community (if it doesn't make the game too difficult).

Major bugs found by the community will be fixed.

Early access version lacks cut-scenes to bridge between levels but there is no guarantee that this will be implemented in the future.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Early access has one campaign centered around the battle of Khalkin Ghol/Lake Khasan.
Any screenshots or video shown on the store is from the early access campaign.
It has 8 missions. Each mission takes in average a minimum of 2h to be beaten, but due to the difficulty and the trial and error nature of the game, it could longer than that (+6h per mission).
A campaign is a succession of missions that can be played using different load-outs (weapon and character stats) that are unlocked with points earned by completing earlier missions.
Difficulty is something that will be tweaked during early access so that is is neither too easy nor too difficult for the general public. The game has 3 difficulty settings.

Early access has all the features described in the full game's description :
A variety of weapons : Flame thrower, grenades, molotov coktails, smoke grenades, canons, rifles, submachineguns, melee.
AI which avoids fire and explosions, line of fire.
Enemies includes infantry, dogs, tanks (canon and flame), static mgs and canons, mortars.
Destructible environment, anything above the ground can be destroyed.

Modding with creation of entire campaigns with unit types and levels is possible, but no Steam workshop integration. Modding does not include access to the game source code, it can only used to create weapons units and scripted levels for custom campaigns. Sound and graphics can be added.

The game is free from any game experience altering bugs and runs smoothly and it is possible to deactivate certain graphic settings for better performance on lower end machines (e.g persistent decals). It is possible to choose a scale of pixel zoom to accommodate to any resolution.

The game campaign lacks a story with cutscenes but this is not something that is advertised. It is a possible but not guaranteed development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of the full version will be slightly higher.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through the Steam community hub (forum).”
