New Update - V 2.1.0 - New Gamemode, New Weapon, New Enemy

Base game
  • Added a new gamemode: Wave Mode - fight through waves of police that increasingly gets harder.
  • Velocity aim now has right/left auto-aim during attacks.
  • Added the new armored mobile cop - spawns late game in increasing values as the game progresses. 6 hearts.
  • AIs now have weight, so knockback applies to different ones at different strengths.
  • Added the power weapon Beartrap - twice as powerful as the staff and also has the double hit property.
  • Weapons now level up with the number of kills on them. This is purely cosmetic. High level weapons have particle effects when they are used with color corresponding to their level. This can be disabled.
  • Added flags to the leaderboard.
  • Updated some of the user interface.

Valentine's Day Update - Special Abilities, Perks, Weapons, New Police, and More!

Thank you all for joining me today to celebrate this massive new update for The Pillage - Version 2.0.0!

The World
  • The gamespace now has depth. AI will appear at random depths on the sidewalk. This makes killing crowds feel so much more pleasing.
  • Removed the parallax effect on buildings. Taking it out all together hugely increased the FPS.
  • Buildings now have randomized textures to them, making the world feel more fleshed out and immersive
  • added static occasional static buildings back to the game
  • New enemy: shield police. These police spawn as the game progresses. They are currently the only enemy in the game with 4 hearts (3 for the shield, plus 1 for the character).
  • Angels now have an improved health bar.
  • Weapons now have specified damage rather than every power attacking dealing 3 damage. This creates more balance and adds for more options in the power attack category.
  • New fast attack weapons: Sickle, Bonesaw, and Pocketknife. The old Pocketknife was replaced with the Shiv.
  • New power attack weapons: Pitchfork, Trident, and Scythe.
  • The Pitchfork and Trident can one-hit shield police.
  • Weapons are now only available at certain levels to give the game better progression.
Special Abilities
  • Added new special abilities, which are unlocked through the achievements like perks.
  • Four special abilities have been added: Sidekick, Rage, Unkindness, and Vitreous.
  • When purchased, these can be activated by pressing (S) or (DOWN ARROW).
  • Added the setting to disable blood particles to increase performance.
  • Added the perk 'Out of the Park' which doubles knockback on enemies that don't die in one hit.
  • Added the perk 'Special' which reduces the time for special abilities to cool down from 30 seconds to 25.
  • Added a new perks menu.
  • New stat tracking that compares total kills to the population of every country in the real world.
  • Redesigned the user interface to not look so ancient.
  • Kill counts are far more accurate than before.
  • An amazing new soundtrack by Inamic.
  • A load of bug fixes.

About This Game

The Pillage is about an appetite for murder. It's about killing for sport and reaping organs for reward. It drops the player in a city with only three things, a small knife, a large weapon, and a desire to take the kidneys from every human in sight. Perfect for every player, it can be played casually or strategically depending on just what the player wants from the game and every play style is rewarded.

Complex Intelligence

Every swipe of the sword and every thrust of your knife creates a complex series of responses from the complicated AI. Citizens will tell the police if they see you commit a crime and police will act on what information they provide. Gangs will leave the player alone if not messed with and attack the player or other gangs when stimulated. It gets deeper than this but past that is a secret.

Procedural Generation

Nearly everything in this game is procedural: The buildings, the sky, the ground, AI characteristics (including all physical features and mobility), gang spawns, ghosts, and a dynamic difficulty curve for police spawns.


The player is given a variety of weapons to choose from and purchase using kidneys in the shop. Both the fast attack and the power attack weapons can be swapped with multiple weapons available in each category.


You have the option to purchase different character perks when you get achievements. Only some of which include: more starting health, longer slow-motion, double-jumping, and faster speed.

Special Abilities

New in version 2.0.0, you can unlock special abilities. There are four options: sending crows down from the sky to kill people, becoming enrages which increses speed and adds invulnerability, spawning sidekicks to fight along side you, and summoning a large eye to kill anything within range.


The Pillage houses an awesome and informative leaderboard that keeps track of player scores across the world and provides a breakdown of their score.


The Pillage has an amazing theme and *new* soundtrack produced by David Sherman as well as some awesome sound effects from Vawlt.
