The Future of Space Station Continuum

Greetings Astronauts,

Today marks the end of our Kickstarter campaign, and as you've probably seen - it wasn't successful.

We may not have made it all the way, but we came ever so close - raising 75% of our funding goal thanks to 270 excellent backers. If you were one of those 270 then I'd like to extend my sincere thanks for believing in this project and doing your part to help it get made.

What does this mean for the game?

In short, it means Space Station Continuum isn't happening. Not anytime soon, anyway.

The timelines discussed on the campaign page are based on me working on the game full time, or very close to full time. Without funding that's not possible. I'll be moving on to other things, and might continue working on the project in my spare time, but I don't expect much to happen in the next few months.

I'm not saying that the game will never happen. I just can't commit to a solid timeline at this point.

But it isn't all bad news!

In this past month we've seen an incredible response from people all over the world who want to see a reality-based space station simulator come to life.

Thousands of you downloaded and played the demo. Hundreds of you pledged your hard-earned money to fund the game. And dozens of you got in touch via Kickstarter, Twitter, Steam, and elsewhere to share your excitement for the game. Your kind words have made all this hard work feel worthwhile, so thank you!

The demo will continue to be available on Steam and for the foreseeable future. I would at least like to finish adding the final content from the unlock milestones that weren't reached. This might happen over the coming months, but again, I can't promise a solid timeline right now.

So from one space nerd to another, thank you, thank you, thank you for playing the demo and supporting this campaign. Maybe next time, eh?

Our Pledges (And Our Modules) Are Expanding!

What's that? Another update already?! That's right!

The final week Kickstarter ramp-up is now in full swing, with three funding milestones achieved in the past 72 hours!

As promised, you can now find an early version of the Expandable Habitation Module (small) in the Demo.

It's a cheap, lightweight option for expanding the interior space of your station - provided you don't mind the lack of external mounting points.

The next funding milestone comes at 70%, and will include another fantastic original music track by Michael Clark - Saturn Shuffle. This one's a real funky number, so get those jazz flutes ready!

If you're enjoying the demo but haven't backed the Kickstarter campaign yet, please consider joining in to help get Space Station Continuum the funding it needs. You could grab yourself some excellent rewards as well!

As always, be sure to share the game on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, YouTube, and anywhere else you can think of to help spread the word.

See you in the next update!

About This Game

Space Station Continuum is a building & management sim inspired by the past, present, and future of humans in space.

Based on real space history, Space Station Continuum puts you in charge of an internationally funded space station in low Earth orbit.

You'll manage power generation, heat dissipation, water re-circulation, and more. All while your astronauts conduct scientific experiments to earn money and research new technologies. Over time, these new technologies will help you expand your station and increase its efficiency.

Reaching certain milestones will allow you to progress into new eras of spaceflight, unlocking new research opportunities, equipment designs, launch vehicles, music, and more.

Technologies like asteroid mining and orbital hydroponics will help reduce your reliance on expensive resupply shipments from Earth. One day it could be the Earth relying on you!
