What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I've recently realized that in order to take this game to the next level I need invested playtesters. I'm hoping that releasing this game as Early Access will help me generate thoughtful feedback in an effort to make this game as good as it can be.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“This game is a passion project of mine and while I'm not working on it full-time I've finished the main mechanics and have a dev schedule that I think is realistic. My current plan is to finish all of the main content by mid 2019.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will have 8 bosses, levels and upgrade items. I'm launching Early Access with 3 polished bosses/levels/upgrades and will continue to add content to the game through the year.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“3 unique levels, bosses and upgrade items to take on in any order you choose.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, I plan to sell the game at $9.99 during Early Access but at a higher price point once the game is complete.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'm thinking this will be a fairly informal process. Obviously, I'd love to hear about bugs the community finds so I can squash them. I have to keep an eye on scope when it comes to suggestions for new features but I'm open to any and all ideas.”

Releasing Korea this week!

So on paper and in a perfect world I would deliver each level, boss fight and upgrade in a major update every other month. The thing is, I have developed this obsession with making each boss fight more ambitious then the last which means it's taking me longer and longer to polish each slice of the game.

I'm going on 4 months without a major update and I want to correct this with a new release strategy. Moving forward I want to be more fluid with pushing new content as I'm working on it. I'm going to push a level or boss fight to you guys with or without context to generate more feedback earlier on in the process.

This content will be branded as 'Under Construction' so hopefully it will lessen confusion for newer players.

Honestly, I think this is a better way to approach early access and this should help me get out of my own way as I try to make each update 'perfect'. Now I'll just shoot for 'close enough to perfect'

So get ready! I'm looking to release Korea (level only) this week!

Gamepad Highly Reccomended

Xbox controller highly recommended. Other controllers may work by remapping input settings in the launcher and/or using a third party solution.

About This Game

We’re focused on capturing the SPIRIT of classic games like Ninja Gaiden and Mega Man. We want to put an emphasis on having fun and rewarding skillful play, rather than long tutorials and collecting every trinket in the level.

Neon can hide in plain sight by blending into the bright colors around him. In this 'stealth mode' he can assassinate enemies that are close by.

We want every boss battle in this game to feel like it could be THE FINAL boss battle and be chock full of “OH SHIT” moments. Each boss has multiple unique phases (no recycled gimmicks or ideas).

A boss select screen that lets players choose the order they’ll take down the bosses. Defeating bosses will unlock different items leading players to develop their own strategy (or googling one).

We’re shooting for "Saturday morning cartoon meets SNES concept art." That is, every character is designed to be visually memorable, and oozing with personality.

It’s only fitting that Neon slays enemies to a soundtrack that equally slays the player. Expect lots of driving guitar-and-synth-based music influenced by the game’s exotic locations.
