Pourquoi choisir l'accès anticipé ?

« I believe that a good game starts by being tested by the players, because the developer can't objectively judge their game. I often think that what I'm doing is great because I enjoy doing it, but by posting it on the Greenlight, I realized that not everyone could enjoy the game (it was too dark, or it felt small).

So, to improve the game, I want an early access to see what you guys really think after playing it. And I also want to see if there are bugs, performance issues...

I currently changed the dark problem, it's now a bit better, but I can't do much more about that, otherwise the game wouldn't be the same, and it would lose all interest. And the game is "Lost Items", not "Lost Interest". »

Pendant combien de temps environ ce jeu sera-t-il en accès anticipé ?

« Well, I first thought of a month, but it sounds like there are much to do before the first release. So between 6 and 8 months sounds quite reasonable. With that time, I'll be able to solve all the bugs you encounter and improve the game much more. »

En quoi la version finale sera-t-elle différente de la version en accès anticipé ?

« The Early Access is currently at a state where everything is almost correctly working, there are all the basic features I wanted in the game :
  • You have the ghosts stealing the items and then putting them back on the ground.
  • You can choose between many characters with different powers (6 powers and 7 characters, including the no-power one).
  • There is a menu and the settings allowing you to change the keymapping, the sound volume.
  • There is a real end.
  • There is multiple playable levels.

So what can you expect about the final version ?
  • Firstly, performances improvements for the hard levels. The Early Access version works 3 times faster than the development version I used to distribute.
  • A new deplacement system because this one is too messy.
  • The possibility of resizing the window.
  • And more content like more ghosts, blocks, items...

Quel est l'état actuel de la version en accès anticipé ?

« The current state of the Early Access is what I'd like to call a pre-release.

There is exactly what I wanted to see in the game. The game is stable, it just has some minor bugs that won't affect the gameplay that much. So I'd say the game is fully playable but not totally enjoyable.

Let me explain :
  • We have some things that makes the gameplay kind of bad :
  • When the framerate is around 30-60fps, the game performances are becoming bad because of a bad implementation. I realized that after making the build live so I won't change it yet, I'm currently working on it and it'll be soon be fixed.
  • I think that the gameplay is poor : even if you have many powers that allows a variety of gameplays, it misses something : monsters. Of course there are the ghosts, but they won't try to kill you. So it misses the fear of dying yet. Of course, changes are planned to make you fear the death !
  • The moving system is messy, I'm trying to change it so it feels better. Currently, there is an order of priority : Up, right, down, left. I need to make a queue so it's last pressed, first checked.
  • And to me, the main issue : you can only play with a 1280x732 window, which is a real issue.

So it is an early access as long as these issues are not solved. And I plan to add some things before releasing the first version. »

« The price will gradually raise as we add new features. »

Comment comptez-vous impliquer la communauté dans le processus de développement ?

« Well, that's the hard question.
I'd like to say "I want everyone to give me their ideas and add them into my game", but that's not possible, as I'm only developing the game on my free time.

So, I'd like to be as close to the Community as possible, listen to their ideas and selecting the best ideas to improve my game and make something everyone can enjoy.
Also, I'd like to hear about all the problems everyone have, because I can't accept that someone is experiencing a bug making them dislike the game.

To conclude, I can't give a real answer here, I'll just say that I'll make my possible to hear everyone's ideas and add the best into the game. »

Lost Items, find your items or be stuck !


Lost Items is a simple game in which you must find many items and put them into a box. But be careful ! You're stuck in a strange maze, it changes randomly and there are some ghosts who wants to steal the items on the ground... Fortunately, the maze changes so you can still go to every item.

You have many ways to reach your objective. Whether you can use the default character for an increased difficulty or you can also try another character to get useful powers such as infrared sights to find the box easily or even the items ! One of them allows you to jump over the walls, but you can't abuse it, you must let your character take his breath back before jumping again.

Even though the ghosts aren't dangerous for you, they can easily get very boring. When, during their walk, they find an item on the ground, they can take it and move it far away. It just depends on their mood, so be sure to take the items before they find them.

The more you carry items, the slower you are. But at some point, taking items will make ghosts disappear. There is always twice as many items as ghosts. And because they are nice, the ghosts never disappear without dropping the items they're carrying, if they are.

The different difficulties are available so you can enjoy the game in different ways. There are 7 difficulties, from the 41x24 maze to the 141x120 one. And of course, the bigger the maze, the higher the number of items is.

List of available powers :

  • The default character. She has no specific power.
  • The fast character. She walks faster and has more strength, so the items won't slow her as much as the other characters.
  • The Lynx. She sees further in the dark so she can find her path to the items and the box easily.
  • The jumper. She can jump over the walls once every 45 seconds. Of course, she can also jump over the items or over the ground, but there is no point in doing that as you can drop the items if you feel like you're too slow.
  • The ghost hunter. Despite her name, she can't kill the ghosts. She can only see them with her infrared sight. A red ghost doesn't carry anything and a green one carries an item.
  • The looter. She has an infrared sight allowing her to see the items near her.
  • The weak one. She can't do anything but finding the box when it is near her with her infrared sight.


List of difficulties :

  • Beginner : 41x24 maze, 20 items, 10 ghosts.
  • Easy : 51x36 maze, 40 items, 20 ghosts.
  • Normal : 65x40 maze, 65 items, 35 ghosts.
  • Hard : 81x56 maze, 100 items, 50 ghosts.
  • Insane : 101x70 maze, 175 items, 65 ghosts.
  • Legendary : 125x90 maze, 280 items, 80 ghosts.
  • Impossible : 141x120 maze, 420 items, 100 ghosts. Beat this mode and I give you a cookie ;)


As the game is still in development, there are probably many bugs and performances issues. If you see one of them, please tell me ! I'll do what I can to fix that as fast as possible !
