Glasswinged Ascension is built around cyberpunk theme permeated with avoidance, caution, and story telling. It is truly hardcore, and consists of missions which can be completed in different ways. There is no straight path to the goal, while means to achieve it do not have to be lethal.

Announcing the 2.1 update!

Hello :) The time has come to announce the next update features.

First of all, update 2.1 will be an attempt to remove all possible clunky elements from controls and AI behaviours to make the game more responsive to player's actions in general. This will require animation tuning as well, so the second thing you can expect from the update will be improved animations both for protagonist and the enemies.

As usual, I cannot tell exact date of the update release, can only say that mentioned imptovements will require considerable amount of time to implement.

Glasswinged Ascension update 2.0 is now live!

Hello :)

I'm glad to announce that update 2.0 is finally live! It took some time, but version 2.0 became much more than just a patch with first achievements added. You will see completely reworked UI, new mechanics, and improved usability. Unfortunately, trading cards are currently out of equation, because the game still isn't popular enough, I'm really sorry about that. Now, to the list of changes and more details.

Update 2.0 improvements:
- Steam achievements were implemented (11 in total).
- Checkpoint save data can now be reset from within the game.
- User interface was reworked and improved.
- Focus mechanic was redesigned.

There aren't much achievements in game so far, but I might add more in the future updates. Please note, that achievement progress indication may come with noticable (few minutes) delays, so don't worry if the progress won't be shown instantly. Reset save feature (which is located in settings) will allow you to start game from the beginning, as you will not be able to gain all achivements in one playthrough.

User interface started to look better and became a bit more user friendly. Now UI indicates which attacks were lethal, and which were non-lethal. Also there is no need in detection ranges tip now, as all enemies have laser-like indication as turrets and drones in previous versions.

From update 2.0 and further, game camera will provide more field of view, so the old focus mechanic is not needed anymore. Now it works differently. Initially, all enemies were always visible as a part of protagonist's skepsiathy gift explanation, but it wasn't quite correct or fun as this ability wasn't supposed to detect non-organic objects. To fix that and make game more fun, I added the "fog of war" and changed focus ability, so now it can be used to detect organic enemies behind solid obstacles while protagonist isn't moving.

I really hope you will like the update :) If you have any feedback, please do not hesitate using forum to share your thoughts - this may help me to improve the game and plan future updates more precisely.

About This Game

Welcome to the futuristic and dangerous world of Glasswinged Ascension! As skilled operative, who possesses rare gift of so called Skepsiathy, you are to venture through top secret mission in goal to save innocent lives and uphold order.

This hardcore game doesn't leave you much room for mistakes, and creates checkpoints only in the very beginning of each mission. Stealth and caution are your best friends here, as enemies require just one shot to kill you, there are a lots of deadly traps around, and even environment itself may become real problem if you will not proceed carefully. Obviously, not all rushed actions will become fatal, but they may still weaken you increasing chances to fail. Enemies are stronger, and once they'll spot you, they'll act fast and without hesitation, so what you will need to do is to outplay them tactically. Stay out of their sight, use sneaking stance to move around without making any noise, or turn off the lights to limit their visual detection capabilities. You will have both lethal and non-lethal weapons at your disposal. Kill enemies, disable them for a short period of time, or even sneak around without firing a single shot - it's fully up to you how to deal with the threat.

Game's missions are not linear, so you will always have alternate routes. Keep in mind that all tripmines you've disarmed along your way can be used to destroy weak walls or floor, while exoskeletons will allow you to lift and move heavy objects or even pass through hazardous environments unharmed. Each mission pushes the story forward, so be sure to read all dialogues you'll encounter. Even though dialogues themselves are pretty linear, they are helping to build truly cyberpunk atmosphere, and give you some interesting themes to think about.
