What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Vrifier as a software platform is a work in progress and is missing some key features that would be expected by a wider demographic.
However we feel it already offers considerable utility to the public in its current state with robust algorithms and novel approach.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“We hope to complete important key features and be ready for the wider public by summer 2021.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Vrifier is designed to be The optimizer and VR viewer of 3D data for all raw-data demographics.
The software will leave Early Access when we feel it sufficiently fits that description.
Currently the following key features are incomplete:
* Model processing does not preserve UV coordinates (textures)
* No textures support
* For progressive pointcloud loading, the Potree pointcloud conversion has to be done manually with PotreeConverter
* Limited kiosk/presentation features
* Networked multi-user sessions
* 2D desktop navigation”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Core features of Vrifier are functional and useful for easily importing, optimizing and viewing and navigating 3D meshes and pointclouds in VR.”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“It is highly probable Vrifier main components will remain free to use.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We welcome community comments and bug reports on forums and public bug tracker.
Organizations are encouraged to get in touch and guide our features to meet their needs through our co-creation partnership program.”

About This Software

Vrifier is a 3D model & data viewer for extended realities with built-in optimization and export for large models and datasets. Vrifier is designed to handle large and complex meshes. Interface is customized for quick and easy 3D viewing for both professional and casual use.

MAIN FEATURES

Control the optimization process

Import large models and define how you want to optimize the model for viewing in virtual and augmented reality. Vrifier gives you the control to create multiple simplified versions of your models.

Progressive point cloud loading

Vrifier’s support for progressive loading of point clouds makes it possible to bring over 8 billion points to be viewed in virtual reality.
(While using the Potree format)

Viewpoints

Save viewpoints to your models and easily navigate back to them whenever you want. Create presentations of important locations to show others.

Wide import file formats support

Current officially supported file formats include .obj, .fbx, .ifc, .stl, .ply and .xyz.
Many other formats can also be imported, but import quality has not been confirmed.

Export optimized models

Optimized models can be exported from Vrifier for later use. Currently Vrifier supports exporting models in standard .obj and .fbx, as well as instantly loading proprietary formats .vrf and .vrx.

Cross-platform support

Vrifier works currently with HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality headsets.

Co-creation model

Some features are developed to meet the demands of the industry on request;
  • Teatime Photogrammetry Toolkit (DLC) with the Department of Geosciences and Geography, University of Helsinki, Finland.
  • Scene customization and kiosk mode features with 3DVisLab, University of Dundee, Scotland UK.
Organizations are encouraged to get in touch and guide our features to meet their needs through our co-creation partnership program.
