The SampleTekk Classic Grand is based off the extraordinary Steinway Model D Grand Piano and is built for Rapture Pro or Rapture Session by Cakewalk. This classic piano was recorded in all its glory in a concert hall for a genuine classic grand experience! With 16 velocity layers, this amazing piano will provide you with unparalleled dynamic response, ranging from delicate pianissimo to roaring forte. Controls for Hammerback, Pedal noise, Ambience and Resonance using instrument page gives you full control over the sound and timbre, so it is perfect for playing Rachmaninov to Jerry Lee Lewis, and all things in between! This pack comes with 81 variations on the Steinway Model D Grand Piano using the powerful processing of the Rapture Session & Pro engine.

The Controls

• Hammerback – The sound of the piano hammers falling back after hitting the strings.
  
• Pedal – The sound that the sustain pedal makes when pressed or released
  
• Ambience – STP Classic Grand was recorded in a concert hall with great acoustics. By increasing this control, you can go from a dry sound to the full ambience of the hall.
  
• Resonance – When pressing the sustain pedal, you lift the dampers from all the strings, so when you hit a note, all strings resonates. Here you can set the amount of resonance you want to have. Please note that high settings might be a bit unnatural, but sounds pretty cool!

The X/Y Pad

With the X/Y pad, you can mangle your piano sound and create interesting textures. See that little cross at the top right corner? That’s what you can drag around the X/Y pad and changes the timbre of the piano.

Dragging it vertically, will change the tone of the piano, making it thinner the lower you go. Dragging it horizontally, you will add distortion. You can also, of course, combine the two and place the cross anywhere on the x/y pad.
