“You'll have to be able to control both of your thumbs independently, seriously. You'll have to. Musik can be your guide, you'll enjoy it. But that's as much of a hint as we're able to provide.”

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Showing off the game frequently at game shows has provided invaluable feedback, insights and ideas for its development. Early Access is the logical continuation of that. The goal is to make the game the best it can be. Since the game is very challenging, Early Access will help balance the various game modes and sort out remaining kinks.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About half a year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

  • at least one new singleplayer game mode (Progress Mode)
  • Feature fine-tuning
  • improve game modes' balance (there will likely be leaderboard resets)
  • More Steam Achievements will be activated once the balance is pretty final
  • Polish and quality of life features (accessibility, options)
  • Improved Sound Sets, including a new third Set
  • Various other improvements (looking into full KB support, tutorials).

While there is a clear vision for the full version 1.0, the intention is to keep updating the game beyond nominal full release. The modular and replayable nature of the game is well-suited for this.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“-tried and tested, but still evolving arcade mode
-basic local co-op mode
-2 Sound Sets (Rock; Electronic)
-currently requires game controller”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Price may increase for the final release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“There is a clear vision for the scope and shape of the "final release" version, but within that framework the game can benefit a lot from the Community getting to play it and constructive feedback I'm looking for in the forums. It's better to get this feedback early when it can still be used to make the game awesomer :)”

Many game elements are synchronized to the music, which in turn reacts to gameplay events. The sound effects are part of the music and adapt when you pick a musical style from the small selection of interactive Sound Sets.

It's all about the mind-splitting controls, the challenge they present and the intense satisfaction of gradually mastering them! Cool moves trigger cool abilities, similar to fighting game special moves:
