What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game is playable now, however we wish to add more custom art and free features in this release (see below). Also, there may be previously undiscovered bugs that might emerge. We work with our players as closely as possible through their feedback, surveys and community contests, allowing feedback into the continued improvement of the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We intend to stay in Early Access for about 6 months to adjust and polish the content of the game for final release, the exact duration will depend on the amount of community requests we intend to tackle!”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add the following features before release:

- Signed artwork by commissioned artists for key encounters.
- Overland travel including Camping, Random encounters and small dungeons content.
- Moral decision making affecting character alignments, which will affect standing with the gods.
- A more elaborate encounter development backend tool.
- some refinement of the Dungeon Map ”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The early access version will include the introductury Module "Into the Mountain of Garang" You will be able to create your party, explore the Town of Midenshire, and explore a portion of the World Map - which is still in a fairly early stage of development and will thus receive many upgrades over time.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will work hand in hand with our community when it comes to Early Access game development. Players can expect surveys, adjustments as well as community contests to add their own content to the game!

About This Game

Fantasy Classic: Dungeon Crawler is a party-based computer role-playing game inspired by the traditions of old-school tabletop fantasy adventure. Create and manage a band of heroes, prepare them for danger, and lead them from the safety of town into ancient ruins, hostile caverns, forgotten chambers, and monster-haunted depths.

The first adventure, Into the Mountain of Garang, begins in a troubled frontier region where old legends have started to stir again. Long ago, the ruined fortress of Vhal Drakhar was shattered and left to rot upon the black slopes of Garang. Now strange lights burn among the broken towers, smoke rises where no fire should be, and rumours spread through Midenshire that something has returned beneath the mountain.

This is a game about deliberate exploration rather than rushing blindly forward. Light matters. Marching order matters. Supplies, equipment, wounds, traps, locked doors, secret passages, spell choices, and battlefield positioning can all decide whether the party returns victorious or vanishes in the dark.

Build a party from distinct backgrounds and talents, arm them with weapons, armour, spells, and gear, then test them against goblins, orcs, undead, vermin, oozes, ambushes, traps, and the dangers of the dungeon itself. Combat is resolved through tactical choices, character abilities, defence, armour, shields, wounds, fatigue, conditions, and the unpredictable turn of the dice.

Between expeditions, return to town to rest, trade, manage the party, hear rumours, visit local services, and prepare for the next descent. Each journey into the dungeon is a calculated risk: push deeper for treasure and discovery, or retreat before wounds, darkness, and exhaustion claim the party.

Fantasy Classic: Dungeon Crawler is built for players who enjoy traditional fantasy adventuring, careful party management, dangerous dungeons, and tactical encounters where the details matter.

Key Features

  • Create and manage a full adventuring party of Six, then guide them through town, wilderness routes, and dungeon levels.

  • Explore handcrafted dungeon spaces with doors, traps, secret areas, stairs, encounters, treasure, and of course, Monsters wishing you ill.

  • Fight tactical battles where positioning, weapon choice, spell use, armour, shields, wounds, fatigue, and tactical decisions shape the outcome.

  • Learn the Mysteries of magic both in and out of combat, including healing, protection, and utility spells, with 345 unique spells in game. And if that's not enough, build your own!

  • Search for traps, listen at doors, uncover hidden passages, manage light, and decide when to press forward and when to withdraw.

  • Recover loot, gather coin, equip your characters, barter with merchants, and prepare for the next expedition.

Begin your journey with Into the Mountain of Garang, an official adventure module centred on the ruins of an ancient fire sorcerer’s fortress. Then expand your campaign as you discover new threats and challenges.
