Burn Tree Burn is a tactile incremental about one dangerous little pleasure: dragging a flame across a forest and watching it get away from you.

Your cursor radiates heat. At first nothing catches, and one warm tree just cools back down. But hold the flame over a dense grove and the heat starts to stack: one tree pops, then its neighbor, then the whole cluster, embers leaping the gaps you mistook for firebreaks. Every tree you burn leaves charcoal behind. Spend it on a hotter, hungrier fire.

Cross the tipping point

Every fire is chasing the same moment, the one where it stops needing you. Below the line you nurse small blazes along by hand, grove by grove. Cross it, and you light a single spark and step back while the firestorm does the rest.

Burn, bank, upgrade

Between sparks, spend the charcoal. Push the heat hotter so fire leaps gaps that used to kill it. Stretch the embers so a dying blaze hands off to the next grove. Seed the map with oil trees that go up white-hot, and powder kegs that detonate and throw fire across the breaks. Call down lightning, grow ironbark that pays out big, evolve the whole forest so it regrows richer every time you torch it. Then claim more territory, zoom out, and start over at a bigger scale.
